She is attached to humans by nature; loves tummy rubs and giving kisses, even around strangers. She could be a little shy when approached by strangers, but would not take long for her to respond passionately. She is friendly to adults and children alike; shares food and toys with other dogs, and never engage in fight with other dogs; very well behaved, not a chewer or barker; also enjoys her daily walks and car-ride. Becca is obedient and enjoys being around people, will surely make a great companion pet. Becca’s rescue story: Becca was rescued out from a ditch by the volunteer on her daily walk. Becca’s seven siblings were also found nearby. Because that area is an industrial park, banked by a storm drain, with heavy trucks in and out all the time, hardly an environment where young puppies can survive! Therefore, the volunteer posted a plea for adoption on line for these vulnerable puppies. The rescuer responded and placed the puppies with foster families while start preparing them for their forever homes. Story
Ava is a lovely Collie Sharpei mix, 10 years young with plenty of good energy. Her mouth is so gentle that even when taking a piece of ham you barely feel her muzzle. Her elbows are still healing from her time on the cement in the kennel. She is desperate for love, requesting tummy rubs and snuggles. Her previous paperwork said she was great with other dogs. When I took her to the groomers she was fine with the other dogs, but but when meeting families who had dogs it didn't go as well. Dogs with boundless enthusiasm who charge her wanting to play are not well received. She will do best as the only dog in a home, or maybe a small, calm friend. She's vaxed, spayed, and LOVES being outdoors. She can hike for hours, or for 10 minutes, your preference. Loves snow. The only indication she's senior is a bit of a white muzzle, but otherwise she's healthy and gives off a calming, healing energy. Will dog sit for free for the rest of her life (at my house) after this summer.

To apply or learn more, go to: https://www.heartsforpawsrescue.com/219873/2024/11/5/dude Dude is a 40-pound mixed-breed pup bursting with playful energy and affection. This good boy is looking for an active and loving forever home! Dude was rescued by HFP with his littermates and mom last winter. He was lovingly hand raised in foster care and adopted around 3 months of age, but unfortunately didn’t find his forever home. Dude is potty trained, crate trained, leash trained for walks, and knows multiple commands. Dude has graduated from a beginner training course and has been recommended for agility training. He knows Sit, Look, Touch, Lay Down, Stay/Wait, Come, High-Five, Drop it, Take it, Leave it, and Let's Walk. Dude thrives on daily walks and lots of playtime, making him the perfect companion for an active household. He loves other dogs and would do great with a canine buddy that matches his enthusiasm. Dude currently lives with a 7 year old and while his excitement is contagious, his energetic nature might be a bit much for smaller children, so he’s best suited for a home with older kids or adults who can match his zest for life. With consistent training and plenty of love, Dude’s big personality will shine even brighter! He’s up to date on vaccinations, neutered, and ready to bring joy to his new family. Dude is now located at Miranda’s Rescue in Fortuna: 1603 Sandy Prairie Road, Fortuna, CA 95540 Office: 707.725.4449

Story
Meet 1 year-old handsome Nathan! This sweet 46 pound boy came in as a stray to Oakland animal services were sadly he ran out of time and hope. With Shelter being max capacity and too many dogs a shy dog will just fall between the cracks. This sweet boy locked confidence at the shelter. He was shut down and terrified. Ever since getting into Foster he is now blossoming, happy and we know he has such a great personality. Just waiting to shine. He’s very dog friendly, both big and small and would thrive most in a home as a second dog where he had a companion and a confident leader. he loves to romp and play and is food motivated. He doesn’t appear to have any formal training and he’s only about two years young. Our best guess is that he is a border collie terrier mix is the perfect size and age for someone willing to train, commit to continued socialization and eager to see his success. he has an amazing Foster family who is working on all basic skills daily. If you’re looking for an active walking partner, he could be your buddy. To begin the adoption process, please submit an application using the link below.
