Story
Meet Cookie 🍪🐾 Cookie is a super sweet, people-loving girl who forms strong bonds with her humans and truly thrives on affection. She’s affection motivated, enjoys guidance, and is good with corrections, making her a rewarding companion for someone who enjoys building trust and connection. Cookie is also housetrained, which helps make her transition into a home nice and smooth. At times, Cookie can feel a little insecure and may resource guard her person from other dogs, so she will do best with an adopter who understands this behavior and can provide clear boundaries and reassurance. She prefers slow, thoughtful dog introductions and will benefit from continued training and confidence-building. Cookie has medium energy and has good leash manners. However she does show some prey drive and may pull when she’s spots a squirrel. She is not good with cats, so a cat-free home is needed. With patience, consistency, and lots of love, Cookie will be an incredibly loyal companion who just wants to be someone’s special girl. 💛🐶

Story
Stevie is a 1.5-year-old Collie mix with the goofiest personality and the biggest heart. She’s potty trained, crate trained, and has truly blossomed in her foster home, gaining confidence every single day. Stevie was born without eyes, but she doesn’t let that hold her back at all. She’s incredibly resilient and navigates her world beautifully once she knows her surroundings. She relies on her other senses and the people she trusts, and as a result, she forms deep, meaningful bonds with her humans. This silly girl loves to play—especially with the big dogs—and is always ready for a round of zoomies that will absolutely make you laugh. When she’s done burning off energy, Stevie is all about the snuggles. She loves being close to her people and soaking up affection. Stevie has an endearing little quirk: if she gets scared or isn’t quite sure what you’re asking, she’ll do a full “pancake” on the floor, which is equal parts sweet and hilarious. She’s not a huge fan of leash walks just yet, but she’s working on it and continues to improve with patience, consistency, and encouragement. Where Stevie truly shines is as a companion dog. She’s wonderful at events, restaurants, and outings—happy to simply hang out by your side and enjoy being together. If you’re looking for a loving, funny, resilient girl who will stay close and keep you smiling, Stevie could be the perfect match. 💛🐾

Becca’s seven siblings were also found nearby. Because that area is an industrial park, banked by a storm drain, with heavy trucks in and out all the time, hardly an environment where young puppies can survive! Therefore, the volunteer posted a plea for adoption on line for these vulnerable puppies. The rescuer responded and placed the puppies with foster families while start preparing them for their forever homes. Story
Mina is a cute girl who is always down for some fun! Mina is estimated to be about 7 months old, and she is a smart and happy girl. She missed out on some socialization as a young puppy, so she is still learning about the world, but has blossomed in foster care and can't wait to meet her fur-ever family. Mina currently weighs about 25lbs, and we estimate that she will be around 40lbs when fully grown. Mina came to us from our partners, BONES Pet Rescue in Covelo. Mina and her sister (who has already been adopted) were found on a remote road, likely dumped by their previous owners. A friend of BONES found the puppies and brought them to the rescue. After some TLC, they were transferred to one of our foster homes, and Mina has been growing like a weed ever since. Mina is a curious and playful girl who likes to make new friends and romp around in the yard. She enjoys gentle pets and will even give you sweet kissies if you're lucky. She is still learning all the ropes of being a dog and needs a family who can be patient with her while she learns and gains confidence. One thing that really helps her feel comfortable is having dog friends. We are hoping she can be adopted by someone who has a confident dog for her to bond with and can help mentor her. Mina is going to be a great companion for someone who is committed to continuing her training and socialization. She is an active and smart girl who learns quickly, especially if yummy treats are involved. Mina has done great with dogs of all sizes, but can be a tad too playful for older dogs, so would do best with a dog who can keep up with her energetic personality. Mina has done well with dog-savvy cats after a slow introduction. Mina has done well with being around livestock and even an extra-large tortoise. She would be a great addition to a farm! Due to her shy personality, Mina would do best in a home with kids older than 10 years old. Mina has been doing well with her housetraining and is comfortable in her crate overnight.  She has been doing well being left alone in the secure, fully fenced backyard, and is happy to keep herself amused out there during the work day. Mina is such a great little girl who has so much potential. If she sounds like the sidekick you have been looking for, head to our website, yolospca.org/adopt, to submit an application.   Mina's adoption fee is $350.   A pply to adopt here!  https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/   Applications are also available on the website (www.yolospca.org)  It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption. For more information about an animal, please email dogs@yolospca.org. For more general questions, please see our website at www.yolospca.org. February 7, 2026, 7:37 pm

Meadow is a cattle dog puppy with a playful, curious spirit and a constantly wagging tail. She is affectionate, mellow for a puppy, and loves being around people. Story
Blaze is 7 weeks old today and is one of mama Sophia’s pups. His DNA came back almost 100% Border Collie, and he is every bit the sweet, loving, playful puppy you’d expect. He loves romping around with his siblings and soaking up all the cuddles he can get. After a recent trip to the vet, we learned that Blaze may have a slight visual impairment. He’s not totally blind and navigates surprisingly well most people wouldn’t even notice! But we want to be proactive and set him up for success. His perfect home would include a friendly fur sibling (male or female) to help show him the ropes and be his little “seeing-eye buddy.” Blaze is a happy, resilient boy with so much love to give. Who’s ready to welcome this sweet baby into their home and heart? ##2646058##

Story
Tuuli  Tuuli means “wind” — and while her name reflects strength, she’s actually a calm, steady presence. Tuuli is a beautiful 3-year-old cattle dog with a mellow spirit and a heart that bonds deeply to her person. She has recently taken her first walks and did exceptionally well — no pulling, no lagging, just quietly taking it all in. She’s incredibly affectionate and loves pets and scratches. If you stop giving her attention, she may gently nudge your arm or place her paw on you to remind you she’s there. She thrives on connection and wants to be close. Tuuli has an almost serene demeanor indoors — very little barking, relaxed energy, and a sweet, observant nature. She’s proud, intelligent, and clearly devoted once she feels safe. She loves her people, she's great with other dogs with thoughtful introductions.  ##2665749##
