I'm Leo! I'm a 3 month old, neutered male Collie/Husky/Good boy mix! I'm just a baby right now and I'm exactly what you would expect, loving, playful and silly! I think I will grow up to be a 50-60, energetic, smart and all around wonderful guy! I would to go home with a family that is ready to provide lots of exercise, training, socialization, and of course love! If you are looking for puppy kisses and wiggly tails, come on in! She is attached to humans by nature; loves tummy rubs and giving kisses, even around strangers. She could be a little shy when approached by strangers, but would not take long for her to respond passionately. She is friendly to adults and children alike; shares food and toys with other dogs, and never engage in fight with other dogs; very well behaved, not a chewer or barker; also enjoys her daily walks and car-ride. Becca is obedient and enjoys being around people, will surely make a great companion pet. Becca’s rescue story: Becca was rescued out from a ditch by the volunteer on her daily walk. Becca’s seven siblings were also found nearby. Because that area is an industrial park, banked by a storm drain, with heavy trucks in and out all the time, hardly an environment where young puppies can survive! Therefore, the volunteer posted a plea for adoption on line for these vulnerable puppies. The rescuer responded and placed the puppies with foster families while start preparing them for their forever homes. Hello! Please meet Mickey, he has an incredible story! Our organization has been rescuing and rehabilitating street dogs in Ukraine since 2018, 4 years before the full-scale invasion. Now since the war started we rescue a lot of animal victims of the war. Mickey is from Bakhmut (a Ukrainian city that was almost destroyed.) Mickey was found by Ukrainian soldiers in the rubble of the apartment building where he lived. He was orphaned and huddled underneath a stove. A soldier contacted our shelter in Kyiv, and Mickey was sent out of the war zone and eventually made his way to Pacifica, CA! Mickey is a playful, gentle, incredibly good-natured dog. Mickey sleeps in the bed with a 5 year old girl in his foster family. Mickey can get very rambuctious and has a unique habit of jumping very high in the air when he is excited. For this reason, we think Mickey would be best in a home with children over the age of 5. Mickey is toilet trained and leash trained. He is neutered and is current on all of his vaccinations. Per CDC requirements, Mickey was quarantined for 10 days upon his arrival to the USA and during that time received a Rabies vaccination in the USA. He also tested negative for heartworm in the USA. The veterinarian in Ukraine determined that Mickey was 6 years old from his teeth, but that can be incorrect. We suspect that he is younger because he still has a lot of energy. He also can chew sometimes, but has not chewed a personal item in a long time since we trained him to chew digestible bones. He gets along well with people, is affectionate and gentle with children, although he can get very excited and play too hard for small children. Friendly with other dogs. Mickey can easily be the second or even third dog because he is non-conflict and ready to give in. He does not strive to lead. He tried to chase the cats at our shelter and is not recommended for cats. Mickey currently lives in a family home in Pacifica with 5 year old and 6 year old children and 2 other dogs. **Note: Currently, Camper is in Korea, but he will fly to San Francisco upon adoption. Background This handsome boy was rescued from a slaughterhouse in the summer of 2022 in Daegu, Korea. After his rescue, he lived in a local shelter for three years but couldn’t find a home in Korea. After hearing his story, we brought him to our boarding house, knowing that a loving family is waiting for him in Canada or the US. His forever home is out there, and he is ready to find it. Personality & Behavior Camper is a wonderful Border Collie with a sweet and gentle personality. He has medium energy, much calmer than a typical Border Collie, making him well-mannered and easygoing. He is social and friendly, not shy around strangers, and he gets along beautifully with other dogs. Camper is never dominant or aggressive; he is always polite and affectionate. Among people at the shelter, he is one of the sweetest and most popular dogs, loved by volunteers for his friendly and gentle nature. Daily Life & Habits Camper is well-behaved both indoors and outdoors. He goes potty outside and is easy to care for. He handles bath time and car ride well, and walks nicely on leash, though he sometimes gets excited by new sights during walks. He does not like being caged but has shown no signs of separation anxiety or destructive behavior. Camper is simply a sweet, well-mannered boy who makes life easy and enjoyable. Health & Diet Camper has been on regular parasite prevention since his rescue and has had full veterinary checkups. He is dewormed, microchipped, neutered, and up to date on vaccines. He is healthy, happy, and ready for his forever home. Camper eats kibble twice a day and has shown no food allergies. Ideal Home Camper is smart, quick to learn, and very sociable. He will thrive in a home that enjoys spending time outdoors. While he does not require excessive exercise like some Border Collies, he enjoys daily walks, playtime, and outdoor adventures. He will happily balance activity with relaxation and is a perfect companion for a family who loves to include their dog in their outdoor lifestyle.
