Becca, spayed female, 3 Years old, 35 Lbs. If you would like to give BECCA a forever home, please contact abetterchancerescue@gmail.com OR log onto abetterchancerescue.org to fill out online application About Becca: Becca is a passionate and lively girl, enthusiastic with food and toys. She is attached to humans by nature; loves tummy rubs and giving kisses, even around strangers. She could be a little shy when approached by strangers, but would not take long for her to respond passionately. She is friendly to adults and children alike; shares food and toys with other dogs, and never engage in fight with other dogs; very well behaved, not a chewer or barker; also enjoys her daily walks and car-ride. Becca is obedient and enjoys being around people, will surely make a great companion pet. Becca’s rescue story: Becca was rescued out from a ditch by the volunteer on her daily walk. Becca’s seven siblings were also found nearby. Because that area is an industrial park, banked by a storm drain, with heavy trucks in and out all the time, hardly an environment where young puppies can survive! Therefore, the volunteer posted a plea for adoption on line for these vulnerable puppies. The rescuer responded and placed the puppies with foster families while start preparing them for their forever homes. Found stray in the Central Valley, Balton came to us a little unsure of the world, but every day he’s blooming into the sweet, affectionate dog he was meant to be. Balton is timid with new people at first, but once he feels safe, his big, tender heart shines through. He forms deep bonds and loves quietly and completely — a true loyal companion in the making. He’s wonderful with other dogs, and during a recent sleepover he did amazingly well with cats, too! This boy has a calm, gentle energy that makes him easy to be around and so rewarding to love. Balton is ready for a patient, kind home that will give him the time and reassurance he needs to fully settle in. In return, he’ll give you the sweetest trust, devotion, and companionship. **Note: Currently, Camper is in Korea, but he will fly to San Francisco upon adoption. Background This handsome boy was rescued from a slaughterhouse in the summer of 2022 in Daegu, Korea. After his rescue, he lived in a local shelter for three years but couldn’t find a home in Korea. After hearing his story, we brought him to our boarding house, knowing that a loving family is waiting for him in Canada or the US. His forever home is out there, and he is ready to find it. Personality & Behavior Camper is a wonderful Border Collie with a sweet and gentle personality. He has medium energy, much calmer than a typical Border Collie, making him well-mannered and easygoing. He is social and friendly, not shy around strangers, and he gets along beautifully with other dogs. Camper is never dominant or aggressive; he is always polite and affectionate. Among people at the shelter, he is one of the sweetest and most popular dogs, loved by volunteers for his friendly and gentle nature. Daily Life & Habits Camper is well-behaved both indoors and outdoors. He goes potty outside and is easy to care for. He handles bath time and car ride well, and walks nicely on leash, though he sometimes gets excited by new sights during walks. He does not like being caged but has shown no signs of separation anxiety or destructive behavior. Camper is simply a sweet, well-mannered boy who makes life easy and enjoyable. Health & Diet Camper has been on regular parasite prevention since his rescue and has had full veterinary checkups. He is dewormed, microchipped, neutered, and up to date on vaccines. He is healthy, happy, and ready for his forever home. Camper eats kibble twice a day and has shown no food allergies. Ideal Home Camper is smart, quick to learn, and very sociable. He will thrive in a home that enjoys spending time outdoors. While he does not require excessive exercise like some Border Collies, he enjoys daily walks, playtime, and outdoor adventures. He will happily balance activity with relaxation and is a perfect companion for a family who loves to include their dog in their outdoor lifestyle. Story
I adopted Porky from the Oakland SPCA when he was approximately 11 weeks old (June 2025). He has been raised indoors and is accustomed to a home environment. When unsupervised, he stays in a pen and is taken out 4-6 times daily for potty breaks, exercise, and time together. Porky is approximately 9 months old. He is in the puppy/young adolescent stage and has the high energy and curiosity typical of a Border Collie mix. I’m seeking a stable, committed home that can meet Porky’s physical and mental needs long-term. Ideally, his new home would have a secure backyard or an active adopter who can provide daily exercise, structured training, and enrichment. Experience with high-energy or working breeds is a plus. Porky is intelligent, affectionate, energetic, curious, loyal, trainable, and engaging. He is deeply loved, and this decision has not been made lightly. Due to personal circumstances, I’m no longer able to provide the environment he needs to thrive.
