Story
Charlie is a good dog who got a bad start.  We have no knowledge of his history and where he came from, but we are pretty sure he has not lived in a house with people.  When he first came to us, he hid from the dishwasher, barked at the television and ran away when first presented with stuffed toys.  He remains easily spooked by noise, but is improving – getting used to the dishwasher, the television, the stuffed dog toys and other day-to-day items in the house.  Physically, he was in pretty bad condition - He was positive for tick illnesses (we gave him Doxy and he is doing bettter now), his coat and skin were in horrible condition (we've given him good nutrition and he's looking a lot better), his teeth were Grade 3 dental disease (we gave him a dental and they are all clean now)!  Charlie weighs about 63 lbs. Charlie is a quick learner, and is adapting to life in a home with his foster collie sister.  He is learning commands and is starting to recognize his name.  We do not crate him, but leave it open and he often sleeps in there.  He is respectful of the house and items in it, and does not jump on the furniture.  He is very cooperative - He pretty much will stand still for almost anything if you ask him to especially if you scratch him – he loves to be scratched.  He grooms well, and is very affectionate.  His fur is growing in nicely since he needed to have some extensive matting shaved.   He’s very focused on understanding and fitting into his new environment.  He watches intensely and you can see the wheels turning as he tries to figure it all out.  He is interested in other dogs and people, and has shown no aggression toward either – but he will bark in the backyard at passing people (and squirrels) with his sister, who loves to do that.  He has shown interest in playing with other dogs, though we have not yet allowed that. Charlie is quite smart and very eager to please. We estimate his age to be about 6 years old.  If you are interested in rescuing a collie, please complete this short adoption questionnaire. Our standard adoption fee is $450. This fee helps us to cover (and sometimes only partially cover) the expense of providing each dog with a Health Exam, Rabies/DHPP vaccines, Heartworm Test, Heartworm Preventative, Flea & Tick Protection, Microchip, Neuter/Spay, a Bath and any other medical needs.  Thank you for your consideration in adopting a collie in need!!! Story
Born: October 13, 2024 Duffy is a beautiful, smiley young man, who will turn one year old in October 2025. He is a sweet and cuddly guy, who snuggles on the sofa and gives lavish loving kisses. Duffy loves all other dogs and his family - but he is skittish around new people, though, and new places, and needs slow, secure introductions.Duffy is neutered, housebroken, well trained, and except for his penchant for finding fun new toys in the house - preferably paper! - exceptionally well behaved. He’s on the tall side for a collie, and is going to be stunning when his full coat comes in! Duffy is looking for a patient and active family, with someone nonstop to play with, and a big yard. He is a gift who will be well worth the time to earn his trust. Story
Lahara is confident and outgoing.  She is very focused on people and just loves them.  She can be a little bossy with other dogs and also plays hard with them.  She occasionally needs some coaching when meeting strange dogs as she tends to come on strong and get right up in their face.  She is healthy and a good eater. She would be fine as only dog or with others, but she likes to be the boss!     Lahara was born in the fall of 2022.  She was an owner give up with two other pups that have since found forever homes.  She spent much of the first part of her life cooped up and often crated.   Despite that rough start, Lahara is confident, social, curious, and is a very well-mannered girl. She is very focused on people and just loves to be near them but is fine if left alone for a bit.  No anxiety issues.  Around the house, she’s very chill.  Nothing really gets her wound up - except backyard squirrels. When she first arrived she was a little bossy with other dogs and also played hard with them.  Since settling in and getting some guidance, she now loves to see other dogs and play a good game of smell/chase if they’re up for it. She doesn’t know any basic commands but is very intuitive and seems to know what you're asking of her.  She’s okay on leash - a bit zig zaggy - but doesn’t pull.   She would be fine as an only dog or with others that are up for it. Story
-ESTIMATE WEIGHT FULL GROWN: 40 lbs -ESTIMATED AGE: 5.6 years KNOWN WITH DOGS: Very friendly towards all so far, and pulls to say hi when he sees them on his walks! Copper previously lived with another dog and was very attached to him. KNOWN WITH CATS: Unknown. Can be tested if needed. KNOWN WITH KIDS: Would likely get along well with them, because he is so sweet and docile. Because he can be high-energy and excitable, and has occasionally jumped up to say hi to new friends, however, he is probably better suited to a home without very small children. KNOWN COMMANDS: Has recently learned “sit”, “come”, “lie down”, “no”, “go to your bed”, and is working on mastering these. KNOWN HOUSEBREAKING AND/OR CRATING: Had a few minor accidents within the first 24 hours of being in his new foster home but has not had one since. Working on crate training. KNOWN LIKES: Playing with all his squeaky toys and carrying them around the house; doing anything outdoors - long walks, games of fetch in the yard, chasing squirrels, saying hi to people and dogs on his daily walks; and getting lots of cuddles and kisses from his humans. KNOWN DISLIKES: Being left alone. Copper is a true Velcro dog who loves to be near his people at all times. When confined and not able to see his humans, he experiences separation anxiety. Notes from the foster: Copper is the sweetest, most gentle cuddle bug who loves to be around his people 24/7. He is active and energetic outdoors (the ultimate exercise and hiking buddy!) and a relaxed couch potato who loves getting hugs and pets when he’s indoors. He’s very patient and tolerant when being handled - i.e getting carried into a bath, having his ears cleaned and paws touched. He is also a super smart boy who loves Learning and is very eager to please. His biggest challenge in his new foster home is overcoming his fear of being left alone (which is the only time he has barked/whined.) 1.5 years old, 49 lbs Personality: outgoing, calm, good running partner, quiet, playful, snuggler, goofy/funny, gentle, and affectionate. Jake is a sweet, goofy, affectionate boy. He sits, cuddles, and lays in the weirdest positions, and loves being close to his humans. Calm but active, he loves playing with other dogs, including his foster brother. He's also great with cats! This curious, happy guy loves being outside and really enjoys meeting people. His favorite outdoor activity is sniffing– he likes to know what everyone is up to! Jake is a smart cookie who already knows the words “sit,” “wait,” and “off." He's also house trained. Jake would do best in a quieter neighborhood while he learns to become comfortable when he sees other dogs while out on walks. Story
Kaia is a 2 year old Australian Blue Heeler with lots of energy. She is a really sweet dog, loves to run outside within the electric fence. She also enjoys walking - both on a leash and hiking off leash. She is well trained (and often wears a remote training collar) - understanding the "sit", "come", "heel", and "place" commands. She is spayed, up to date on all shots, and in good health. She rides well in cars. She loves to give dog kisses and loves to have her belly rubbed, but she is not a lapdog. She will take time to relax on her bed if she is occupied with a bone or other chewable. She is good with other dogs (except while eating - she is food aggressive and does not like other dogs coming up to her while eating). She is also great around other animals. We have chickens, rabbits, and cats and she has never been aggressive or hurt any of the animals. We are rehoming Kaia because she needs a more active lifestyle than we provide with all of her energy.
