Story
MATILDA WAS LEFT AT A CHURCH… DON’T LET THAT BE THE END OF HER STORY 💔 🚨 Someone left her at a church door… and walked away. No name. No explanation. No one coming back. Now Matilda sits in a loud, scary shelter trying to make sense of it all… wondering why she was left behind. She’s about 6 years old and only 25 pounds—a tiny, gentle soul who never asked for any of this. And here’s the truth about her: ✨ Once she’s out of the kennel, she is soft, affectionate, and loving ✨ She just wants to be close to someone ✨ Quiet, docile, and incredibly sweet ✨ Dog that will bond deeply once she feels safe She’s nervous in the kennel… but that’s not who she is. That’s fear. That’s heartbreak. 💔 She is not broken—she is just scared and needs someone to show her she’s safe again. Dogs like Matilda don’t do well in shelters… and they don’t get much time. 🙏 PLEASE — Matilda needs a calm, loving home ASAP. Give her the second chance she never got. Because being abandoned shouldn’t be how her story ends. PLEASE TEXT KAREN 4136298152

Story
As a rescue, We do not euthanize dogs but dogs that are listed as URGENT are still waiting to be saved from animal control and they do euthanise. We can only save them when space is available or have an adopter. Meet MANGO the boy has found himself in animal control, he did nothing wrong his humans have abandoned him 💔☹️, they deserve a pup like him. Dog friendly, playful, loves attention, and belly rubs this is how I would describe him. Fully vetted, neutered. And microchipped. Would make a great companion, walking buddy or just relax and cuddle with you on the sofa. Adopt MANGO

Story
Wintermint is a gentle, shy boy with a soft heart who is building his confidence in the world around him. He may be reserved when meeting new people, but with patience and kindness, he opens up more each day. Once he feels safe, his sweet personality comes through—especially in the form of soft little kisses. He’s currently working on both crate training and potty training and is making progress. Wintermint will thrive in a home that understands he needs time to settle in and is willing to go at his pace. He does wonderfully with other dogs and truly benefits from their presence, often taking cues from his canine companions. It would be beneficial for him to have another dog in his furever home. He’s begun walking on a leash in quiet areas, though loud noises and new experiences can still make him nervous, so continued gentle exposure will help build his confidence. Wintermint is going to grow into a truly handsome and devoted companion. He just needs a patient, understanding home to help him blossom into the dog he’s meant to be. Wintermint is fostered in Reading (Berks County), Pennsylvania and is ready to join a family! www.mostlymuttz.org Link to Wintermint’s bio: https://www.wagtopia.com/search/pet?id=2676422&name=Wintermint #mostlymuttzrescue #adoptabledogs #adoptme ##2676422##

Story
Here's a shout out to Dixie Mae, a pretty 3-year old heeler-shepherd mix ready for her next adventure with a forever family. Dixie Mae weighs about 42 pounds and loves outdoor times with other dogs in her fenced-in yard and on walks. She has brown stockings, muzzle, and apron and a white spot--called a Bentley Mark--on her forehead. She is so happy when she sees her leash come out and will often "stop, drop, and roll" during those neighborhood walks. Whoever walks her loves to see her thick, somewhat shorter-than-expected tail wagging away. She enjoys spending time with her foster family--in the kitchen, office, TV room for Phillies games, or even outside during her foster Mom's weeding duties. And her presence sure does make those weeds not nearly so  annoying. After a busy day, she is happy to curl up by her foster Mom's feet and sleep. Dixie Mae is house-trained, micro-chipped, spayed, and up-to-date on all her vaccinations. Her bags are packed and she is ready for a happy place with a dedicated family who appreciate that she might be a bit reserved at first but want to provide a safe and loving landing for her.  Please email us at  AlmostHome4Dogs@yahoo.com  for an application or more information. Story
If there were a Guinness Record in the category for happiest dog, 8-month-old Sparkles would be a hands-down (or paws down!) winner. Sparkles has the softest golden brown fur and the most soulful eyes--and those speckled paws indicate some heeler in her hound mix. She was found abandoned in a box along a road in Kentucky, so with a challenging start to her life, it  is understandable that she might need a little extra time to feel completely comfy around new people. She weighs about 27 pounds, is micro-chipped, spayed, and is up-to-date on all her vaccinations. She is putting the final touches on her house training and she loves her walks with a favorite canine housemate. Sparkles adores the other dogs who are permanent residents in her foster home and having a canine buddy or buddies in a fenced-in yard would be at the top of her wish list. She loves toys and watching her grab them from the box and bring them to her crate--her little cave--brings such big smiles for foster family. So if you are looking for a buddy that will make your heart sing as you see her confidence build and her personality unfold, then Sparkles is the dog for you.  Please email us at  AlmostHome4Dogs@yahoo.com  for an application or more information.   (Local adoptions preferred — Philadelphia and tri-state area [South Jersey and northern Delaware] only.)
