GRACE NEEDS A FOSTER TO HELP HER RECOVER FROM HEARTWORM TREATMENT-Grace is undergoing heartworm treatment on 5/19-5/20/25 and needs a quiet home to rest as she recovers from treatment. Recovery includes a calm environment, crating, and only leash walking to potting and back for 30 days with gradual increase in activity.  She is young and we do not expect any complications. She is such a sweet girl she deserves a break! If you can foster please email us at foster@dsda.org for more information or complete our foster application at www.dsda.org/foster. We of course would also consider a foster to adopt scenario which is ideal in a situation like this. She is spayed and all her vaccines are up to date. Please help us find a loving home for Grace. Grace is a stunning 1 year old 50 pound collie/lab mix (best guess!).  She is very well trained and would love a home with a fenced yard and an owner who will to take her on walks-though apartment living suits her well, too! Grace is super chill with a laid back temperament. She would be happiest in a home as an only dog so she has your undivided attention. She is a great cuddler and even masquerades as a couch potato at times. She would be ideal for an older couple, less active individual or special needs person who would enjoy a low key dog.   To meet Grace in person visit us at www.dsda.org/adopt and submit our online adoption application.  ADOPTION FEE Covers: Core vaccines plus Lepto and Flu, all boosters, microchip, dewormer until clear fecal test & spay or neuter when completed by a DSDA vet partner plus any necessary medical care.  All dogs are on flea, tick and heartworm prevention and you receive the following month's preventatives complementary with your adoption!  * Adoption Fees: Puppies (12 months and under) - $325  Dogs (over 12 months) - $275  Qualifications for Adoption:  No dog is alike and each dog has different requirements based on breed, age, energy level and life experiences. DSDA is very careful to place our dogs in homes that we believe are the best fit for the dog based on our experience with each dog. All of our dogs live in foster homes which allows us the opportunity to learn about their individual needs.  Must be home more than not. Vet checks are required! All resident pets in the applicant's home MUST be spayed or neutered, core vaccines up to date and dogs on heartworm prevention to be considered! No exceptions.  Must be 21 years or older with identification showing present address. Must have the knowledge and consent of all jadults living in the household. Must receive proof of pet deposit and lease allowing pets if renting. Willingness and capacity to spend the time and money necessary to provide training, medical treatment and responsible care for a pet. All poisonous plants must be removed from the yard.  DSDA is located in Dallas and requires a home visit on every adoption so only adopt to Dallas and surrounding areas. ##2179383##

Story
This handsome boy needs a very special human in his life as he just can not bring himself to trust many humans. Prince might like someone immediately but it is rare, he did not like his foster mom at all initially but now he is really loving and adoring with her. He is an outgoing and fun dog once he chooses to trust someone and otherwise makes it clear he prefers to be left alone. Prince lives with lots of other dogs and is especially playful with many of the smaller dogs in his home. He has not been cat tested but ignores the cats in their catio in his foster home. He has learned to accept and walk on a leash and even enjoys going for walks now. He is house-trained and has good house manners which is great because he hates being in a crate. He needs a home without a lot of people coming and going and/or with a place he can be away from people that do not live with him and no young children. His perfect home would be his human and how many other dogs his human would like to have live with them.

Story
Theo is 1 of 9 dumped puppies found on May 1, 2025 in Kerens, Texas. We believe the puppies&#39 breed is a border collie mix. He is around 13 weeks old, he has had his 12 weeks shots, he is neutered and microchipped, and he is ready for his forever home. Theo is the biggest boy of the 4 boys in the litter! He is outgoing, but he is also a cuddle bug. He is one of the most affectionate of all the male puppies, which is saying something because they&#39re all very affectionate. He is playful and loves everyone. He does well with cats and is friendly with other dogs. His foster home has children (ages 13, 9, and 6) and he does well with all of them. Theo was kind of bullied by a few of them when we first brought them home, and we kept him inside for 2 nights because he seemed scared to be with the other puppies. That was weeks ago, and he&#39s gotten over that fear, but he is still very affectionate, and he has the sweetest eyes. He loves to be held and snuggled, he loves to run and play chase, and he loves toys and bones. He is very active and will do best in a home with a yard large enough for him to run and with a family that will take him on walks. He is well socialized with his littermates, and he will do well being socialized with other friendly dogs from a young age. He plays with our cats, and will do well with cats as he gets older if he is around them often enough to not be overly excited when he sees one. Theo has a less dominant disposition than some of the other puppies, and he is not aggressive. The 8 puppies that we found (our neighbors found #9 and kept her) are fed together, and none of them are food aggressive. There was a little food aggression when we first brought them home, but we&#39ve had them for over a month now, and they realize that there is enough food for everyone, so the aggression that was displayed by a couple of them has stopped completely. The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $300.00 and that includes their vaccinations, spay or neuter, rabies and microchip. To start the process please visit our website and fill out the adoption application (www.dfwrescueme.org) and from there the foster family can answer any questions and arrange a time to meet. Theois participating in the DFW Rescue Me guest dog program, so ongoing care and custody is provided by their foster, not by DFWRM.June 22, 2025, 12:59 pm

Story
We didn&#39t name the puppies until we&#39d had them for a couple weeks as a way to keep track of them. Chunk got his name because he would eat dinner, then he would walk over to a patch of grass and flop over onto his side like he was too full to go on. It&#39s come to be a very fitting name. He&#39s a chubby boy! Chunk is very outgoing. He is probably the most affectionate of all the puppies, which is saying something because they&#39re all very affectionate. Chunk&#39s kryptonite is a good belly rub! He will run up to you, and as soon as your hand reaches down to pet him, he&#39s on his back, little legs kicking in the air, chubby belly waiting for rubs! He is playful and loves everyone. He does well with cats and is friendly with other dogs. His foster home has children (ages 13, 9, and 6) and he does well with all of them. Chunk loves to be held and snuggled, he loves to run and play chase, and he loves toys and bones. UPDATE 9/11/23. TILLIE HAS JUST GRADUATED FROM BOARD AND TRAIN! She played with at least 5 dogs there, knows her commands, and is ready for her forever home! Tillie is VERY active and would be best suited with another doggie playmate in her new home. OR perhaps someone who would like to train with her for agility or some other event. Tillie is exceptionally smart! PRECIOUS TILLIE!! LOOK AT THOSE EARS!!!!! Tillie is a medium sized dog and weighs approximately 37 pounds. She is an Australian cattle dog mix, 9 months old, spayed, current on vaccinations and on heartworm preventative. She is also microchipped. Tillie was out of time at a local shelter and we just HAD to get her! SMART!! SMART!! And LOVES to play fetch with you. Here is a video of her with her "big stick" which she alternates with her "Tillie Ball". She has a lot of playing to do and a lot of love to learn about. Tillie will need an active family that will make her a real part of their family and take her with them where they are able. For more information, please email Gail at can.adoptions@yahoo.com.

Introducing Tidbit Tiny Ears, a soft-hearted, medium-sized cattle dog mix with the cutest little ears and the sweetest disposition you could ask for.Tidbit is a calm, gentle companion who loves quiet moments and warm company. She enjoys slow strolls, cozy naps, and peaceful time by your side. Whether you`re reading a book, gardening, or simply relaxing on the porch, Tidbit will be your calm and loyal shadow. She may be a cattle dog mix, but Tidbit doesn’t have the high-energy drive often seen in the breed. Instead, she leans into her mellow side—preferring soft voices, gentle affection, and a predictable routine. She`s friendly with people, polite with other dogs, and would do especially well in a home that values her gentle nature and gives her time to settle in and feel safe.Looking for a loving, steady-hearted companion with the cutest ears in town? Tidbit Tiny Ears is ready to bring peace, love, and loyalty to your life.
