Barks at other dogs when walking him, gets aggressive. Likes to snap at them unless he knows them, otherwise very friendly. Good with young kids, does not bite. He is the best ball player, wants to play ball all the time. Sam will bring ball back to you and drop it in front of you or in your lap. He does like to mark his pee at times. Sam is very attentive and will sit and beg for a snack. He eats once in morning and once in evening. He goes to his kennel on command and sleeps in it at night with door closed. At park off leash if you are throwing ball he will not run away, stays with you. He is very sweet.

Eddie is 4 yrs old and is approx 15 lbs. He is shy around new people and will take patience and reassurance. He can be mouthy when unknown dogs and people come near. He needs to be with someone who has the ability and patience to train him to be more confident and greet others properly. He would also do well in a stand alone home with a fenced yard. Eddie is a sweet boy and loves to cuddle and burrow under blankets. He is definitely food motivated. Eddie doesn’t do well home alone but if he had a person or dog buddy he should do fine. Eddie has his favorite toys and blanket. He will also have a toy box with toys, food, dish, collar/leash, car booster bed and an over the shoulder carry bag.

Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and St. Louis areas twice monthly. For long distance transports to Colorado and Iowa, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). Meet our adorable dachshund puppy Osoro. We do believe they are related even though they look quite different to each other. They are typical friendly and playful puppies, relatively confident around dogs of all sizes. They are a little vocal, especially around new dogs. They are comfortable being handled and are excited to see their foster parent however, they can be very shy and usually avoid being handled as best they can. The foster usually corrals them and scoops them up to crate them overnight. They sleep quietly through the night in their crate without any accidents. Their foster lets them out in the morning and they run riot in the backyard all day. With a little bit of human attention, they should quickly grow in confidence and seek out human affection. She is vaccinated, spayed and microchipped.  Osoro knows just how miraculous a turn her life has taken when she was picked out by Havok's Wolfpack and she is determined to live her new life to the fullest, hopefully, with you. Sula is a 2-3 year old Dachshund mix weighing about 15lbs.  Sula came to us with a few other dogs when her owners could no longer care for her.  She was very nervous when she first got to us, but has really started coming out of her shell now.  Sula gets along great with other dogs, people, and cats.  She is super, super sweet and loving, it just takes her a little time to come out of her shell and feel comfortable.  Sula will need a forever family who isn't expecting too much from her instantly.  Someone who understands that, just like humans, dogs need patience too, to get to know their forever family and start to feel comfortable.
