Because of her past, she is understandably very shy at first and needs a patient, experienced home that will give her the time and space she needs to feel safe. Star tends to bond more quickly with women, and once she trusts you, she is incredibly gentle, sweet, and devoted—a true little shadow who wants nothing more than to be near her person. When she feels comfortable, her personality really shines. She loves chew toys, enjoys playing, and absolutely thrives in the company of other dogs. Having a confident, social dog in the home is a must for Star. A doggy role model helps her build confidence and learn the routine of home life. She is potty trained, crate trained, and is generally quiet, rarely barking. Star loves to run and play in the yard, so a securely fenced yard is required, as she is still working on leash training. Star would do best in a calm home with teens or adults only, where her boundaries can be respected and her confidence can continue to grow.
