Story
Name: Monkey Sex: Female Estimated Age: About 9 years old Best Guess for Breed: Chihuahua/Dachshund Mix Weight: About 15 lbs Lives With: Dogs, cats and all people (including kids)! Housebroken? She’s potty trained! Special Medical Considerations:  Monkey has degenerative heart disease and is considered a hospice case, with an estimated 1–2 years ahead of her. She takes daily medication and will need two specialist visits per year. Monkey was rescued from a shelter in North Carolina, and we are so grateful she’s now safe and cozy in a loving foster home in the DC area. Monkey is a happy, gentle sweetheart who adores people and gets along beautifully with other dogs, puppies, and even cats. She’s mastered the art of getting comfy on the couch with her humans and would love to join you for leisurely walks and neighborhood strolls. Her favorite things? Belly rubs, mealtime, and burrowing under the covers at night to be your own personal, snuggly heater. Don’t let her sweet gray face fool you — she still gets playful bursts of energy, complete with zoomies and games of catch with her favorite mouse toy! Monkey is potty trained, does wonderfully in an apartment setting, and is perfectly content relaxing at home while you’re out running errands. She’s truly the best mix of playful and peaceful companionship. Monkey does have degenerative heart disease and is considered a hospice case, with an estimated 1–2 years ahead of her. She takes daily medication and will need two specialist visits per year. We know this means her time may be shorter than we wish — but we also know it can be incredibly meaningful. Monkey is looking for a compassionate adopter who is ready to open their heart to a hospice dog and give her the love, comfort, and stability she deserves for the rest of her life. In return, she will offer endless devotion, warmth, and tail wags every single day. Like all dogs, Monkey will thrive with continued positive reinforcement, mental enrichment, gentle exercise, and lots of patience and love. There is no adoption fee for Monkey thanks to a generous volunteer donation, which covers her vaccines, spay, collar, transport to DC, and foster care. She is up to date on all age-appropriate vaccines. Monkey doesn’t need perfection — she just needs her person. Could you be the one to give this very special girl the soft landing she deserves? Story
We adopted Festus in 2022. He's been a good company for us, but I travel every couple of months, and it has costed me quite a bit paying for a pet boarder and a walker when I go into the office. He's very good around children and very loyal. Festus will be a good companion for a dog lover who doesn't have to travel as much.

📌 Important Adoption Information All of our dogs are currently living in private shelters or foster homes in South Korea. Once an adoption is approved, dogs will travel to the United States through legal and approved international transport procedures. Video calls are available prior to adoption, and adopters can communicate with our rescue team in real time through our official organization and app-based messaging channels throughout the process. Meet Lylla :) • She rides so well that if you open the car door she gets in by herself, and she doesn't get car sick at all. If you like traveling she would make a really good buddy! • She loves playing with other dogs, running in the park, cuddles, kisses, sleeping with you, walks, hikes, and delicious food (fruit, sweet potatoes, pumpkin, cheese, meat) and treats! • Personality: She is affectionate, full of energy, loves to have fun, and adapts well to new things. She likes both people and dogs and cats (she'll play with them). She also loves to play in the park or the mountains. When she's excited, she'll purr to show her excitement. She loves to be held - she wants to fall asleep with you in your arms. She's the best dog ever! 💙 Adoption Fee Information The adoption fee already includes all major expenses, such as: International transportation, Customs and export documentation, Medical care (spay surgery, vaccinations, health certificate, deworming, etc.) For this reason, we kindly ask that you refrain from requesting a breakdown or negotiation of the adoption fee. Your support directly helps us continue rescuing and caring for dogs in need, and we sincerely appreciate your understanding.

Story
At about 8 years old, Tod is a distinguished Corgi–Chihuahua mix with the shortest little legs and a surprisingly big personality tucked into his sturdy, compact frame. He’s equal parts gentleman and character - a thoughtful, independent little guy who knows exactly who he is and would very much like to be appreciated for it.Tod came back to rescue with some history, but in his foster home he has been nothing short of wonderful. Over the past several months, he’s proven himself to be attentive, responsive, and delightfully easy to live with. He’s housebroken, quiet, good in the car, listens well, and settles beautifully in his crate. He truly thrives when life is calm, consistent, and predictable. He’s the kind of dog who quietly fits into your routine and somehow makes it better.Like many dogs who’ve had their routines disrupted, he can be a bit reserved when meeting new people - he prefers polite introductions and a little time to decide you’re worthy - but once you’re in, you’re in. Tod becomes deeply loyal and wonderfully devoted. He’s very much a “my person” kind of dog who will happily coexist nearby, keeping you company with his steady, reassuring presence.Tod is reportedly cat-friendly (though his foster doesn’t have cats to confirm), and he would do best in a home without young children. He could potentially live with another calm, independent dog in an experienced home, but truthfully? He shines brightest as the only dog, soaking up the peace and the quiet attention. He would love a home with a yard to explore on his adorable little legs, a couple of dependable meals a day, and people who appreciate a dog with charm, independence, and a whole lot of heart. He’s not needy or chaotic - he’s cool, composed, and quietly charismatic.Tod isn’t looking to be everyone’s dog. He’s looking to be someone’s dog. And for the right person, he’s going to be absolutely irresistible. If you’d like to take Tod home, please fill out an adoption application at this link – https://animalalliesrescue.org/dog-application. The adoption fee is $150 and covers all expenses needed to prepare dogs like this one for their forever homes. By the time you meet them, they’ve already been spayed/neutered (if age-appropriate) and microchipped. They’ve been checked by a veterinarian and are up to date on necessary vaccinations, including Rabies and DHLPP. They have also been tested for heartworm and tick-borne diseases and have start

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.OSKAR Breed: smooth dachshund Age: 8 years Weight: 15 pounds Adoption Fee: $375 Vetting Status: neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccines, dewormed, heartworm negative and maintained on preventatives, recent dental ~~~~~ OSKAR is a sweet & sassy wiener who is looking to settle into a furever home.   He is a professional snuggler & loves most humans, just no small ones please!   Oskar's hobbies include sleeping under covers, sunning himself on the deck, watching TV & batting his BBE's (big brown eyes) at you for any snacks you may want to share?   Canine minions are cool and chilln' with his foster fur-brother is fun. However, very large dogs or hyper-happy alpha types who want to be all up in his face are not Oskar's cup of tea.  Oskar did have some injuries from his prior life when he came to rescue, but has fully recovered & ready to go home. His canine dentist (ok, vet) also says his teeth are in great shape.    He is housetrained and leash trained, loves to go on walks, & ride in the car.   Oskar is okay with crates, but much prefers hanging around the house & would LOVE to snuggle with you in the "big bed" at night if allowed.    Oskar would be suited to apartment living provided you agree to carrying HRH (his royal hound-ness) up & down any stairs, as all nobility should be!     P.S. If you think OSKAR is the dog for you, please fill out an adoption application today! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~  OSKAR  is available for adoption through K-9 Rescue of the  Eastern Shore.   An adoption process is required to include filling out an online adoption application available at the following link --  https://www.k9rescuees.org/info/adoption  ` Veterinary and personal reference checks, and a home visit/meet-n-greet are required PRIOR to being approved to adopt.   The time frame for completing this process depends largely on how quickly references respond, your vet office is able to speak to us (some want written permission first), your landlord or HOA (if applicable) confirms their approval for a pet, & how your schedule aligns with that of our volunteer(s) for the Home Visit. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ PLEASE NOTE ~ All of our rescue members are volunteers with many obligations. While we may not be capable of immediate response, we will respond to all inquiries and application submissions as soon as possible. Thank you for thinking adoption! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ #dachshundsofinstagram, #adoptme, #brokennomore, #sausagedogVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 29, 2025, 6:32 pm
