If you are interested in adopting this dog, please fill out an Adoption Questionnaire at  https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/43315/genericYou can learn about the adoption process by visiting:  http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/howtoadopt/.  Dog's Name:  Baby Wedge (WED0425ALAMD) Estimated Breed:  Min Pin/ Dachshund mix Approximate Age: 7 weeks Approximate Weight: 3 LBS Currently Living at:  Foster  Adoption Fee:  $500DOG'S DESCRIPTION: Meet adorable Baby Wedge! Wedge is part of the Garnish Cuts Litter of four (Swizzle, Twist, Sprig and Wedge). These little babies came all the way from an overcrowded shelter in Alabama with their mom, Daisy Mae. Momma Daisy Mae is a sweet 15-pound Min Pin mix who is about 1-2 years old (picture included). While Wedge has loved spending time with his mom and siblings, he is now ready to find a loving home of his own. Could that be with you? Wedge is your typical sweet and playful puppy. At his young age, he is in his prime for training and socialization. Ready to bring a puppy into your family? Well, Wedge is ready to bring the joy, fun and happiness that having a dog can bring. Apply today and give this very deserving boy the home of his dreams! Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.           Adoption fees cover basic vetting, spay/neuter surgery (at partner vet if not fixed before adoption), rabies, distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for worms, heartworm testing, monthly heartworm prevention and monthly flea/tick prevention (while the animal is in our care), and transport costs from high-kill shelter. Please note that on average, K-9 Lifesavers spend significantly more on each dog than their adoption fee. Adoption fee for HW positive dog also covers heartworm treatment at our partner vets. Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit  http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/  or email our Foster Coordinator at  foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSponsor Me!    Make a  tax-deductible donation  today by visiting us at http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/donate/. Story
Ben is a five-year-old dachshund who has special needs. In June 2024, he unfortunately slipped a disc, causing paralysis of his hind legs. Because of this, he requires a hands on owner who can assist him with using the bathroom. I don’t want to give him up, but I am not able to give him the proper care that he needs now and it has been a lot on me with the work in my personal schedule. He is in great spirits but it has just become too much for me to handle. He’s a sweet boy whose love language is physical touch (lol). He loves to cuddle & neck rubs. We have a wheelchair for him as well.
