Dexter is on a special diet and needs regular grooming appointments for his skin. To donate towards his care please visit our website  Donate (abuddyforlife.org) Dexter is about 6 years old and 35lbs.  He is very lovable to his person and very protective.  He has some aggresion issues with protecting his home and people.  He needs a dog experienced person who understands this and will not put him in a situation where he will continue this behavior.  He needs to be an only pet in the home.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 22, 2024, 12:58 pm

Story
Meet Midnight: Midnight is about an 8 year old (as of November 2025) dachshund mix (best guess) that weighs 17 pounds. Midnight was surrendered by her owner in rural Arkansas who didn’t want to care for her any longer. Midnight is currently being fostered in the south and would love to take the freedom ride north to Pennsylvania to meet more prospective families. Midnight is about as affectionate and clinging as any dog can be. Midnight can't stand to sit alone when there's someone in the house with an unoccupied lap. Midnight is very gentle and loving with people. Midnight can be temperamental with other dogs. Most of the time Midnight is good with other dogs, but she can get grumpy with some other small dogs. Midnight has shown no signs of threat to any people. We would recommend Midnight live out her life as an only dog to be spoiled and get all of the attention, but she could work well in a home with much bigger canine housemates that could keep her in line. Midnight would make a great family member in a house with any number of people, including kids. Midnight is house trained to a doggie door and may need some patience while adjusting to a new method. Midnight is up to date on her shots and spayed. If you would like to add this lap snuggler into your life, please go to Charlie’s Crusaders website (www.charliescrusaders.org) to fill out an application. CURRENT LOCATION: Tennessee, awaiting transport to PA ##2594184##

**GUNNER`S & CHESTER`S ADOPTION FEES HAVE BEEN FULLY SPONSORED THANKS TO AN ANONYMOUS DONOR**Hello, my name is: GunnerApprox. DOB: 07/30/2016Sex/Breed: Neutered male Long-Haired DachshundWeight: 13.2 lbs Hello, my name is: ChesterApprox. DOB: 05/04/2011Sex/Breed: Neutered male Long-Haired DachshundWeight: 18.3 lbs No, you`re not seeing double! Welcome Chester and Gunner, two adorable senior dachshunds who recently came to All 4 Paws. They were surrendered with medical needs and facing a looming deadline as their family prepared to move. We knew we had to keep them out of the shelter system and offer them a safe place to land. These boys are now ready to find a family that will love them through their golden years! Chester, the more reserved of the two, is a true napper, content to snooze most of the day. He likes to keep an eye on you from a comfortable distance, occasionally coming over for a gentle pet. Walks are enjoyed at his own charming waddle! Gunner, a bit more energetic, loves to play with toys and run for a bit before settling down for his own naps. He’s a snuggler, enjoying couch time, and moves at a faster pace on walks than Chester. Both boys are treat-motivated and are doing well with a consistent bathroom schedule. Taking in owner-surrendered pets like Chester and Gunner – especially seniors and those with medical needs – is part of our mission. In many cases, these pets would end up in overwhelmed shelters. By bringing them directly into our foster homes, we offer immense benefits: immediate comfort, a quiet environment away from the stress of a shelter, personalized attention for their medical needs, and a chance to decompress and show their true personalities. It`s a win-win for everyone, especially for these deserving dogs who get to bypass the noise and fear, heading straight to loving care. These boys are just two of many who benefit from your support, allowing us to be a safety net for pets facing an uncertain future.Who will open their home and hearts to Chester and Gunner? All our pets are microchipped, spayed/neutered, and up to date on vaccinations and preventatives.Interested in adopting? Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us! Hello My new name is Babe and I LOVE it!!!  I come from the "hoarding" situation.  I'm not sure what that means I just know I come from a REALLY stinky house with a lot of other pups in fact there were 148 of us!!   I like the ranch it is fun and they give us spa days and we eat really good!!!  I'm learning to trust the humans!  They aren't like the ones I lived with before. My foster mom says I will never have to worry again and she will make sure my next home is AMAZING!!!  I am most comfortable when I have another pooch to cuddle with so she said she won't send me to a home without another pup my size and a fenced yard.  That makes me feel really safe!!! REQUIREMENTS MUST have a fenced yard MUST have another small dogVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not. A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!
