Carla was adopted in October 2020 but due to Covid, the owner could no longer afford to keep her. She is very active and loves chasing balls. Carla can be protective in the house. Her ideal companion will be a submissive young male. Carla likes to be the boss. She is not crate trained and does not do well in a crate or if left alone too long. She guards her home and needs someone who understands this breed as a working and protective dog. When first meeting new people she should be approached with caution - do not crowd her. The adopter needs to let Carla approach for affection until you have gained her trust. When a dog has been moved out of a home they become wary and it takes time for them to understand the new adopter is the forever home. She will need time to adjust and trust you and she will be a lifelong best friend to you. She may not do well with younger children as they have a tendency to want to get too close to befriend a dog. Bee came to us from Cowtown so she is a local gal looking to relocate. She does pretty well on leash-doesn't pull excessively. She was walked at a slow pace and comes right back when at the end of the leash. She has the cutest bifid nose which is so distinctive. Bee will sit and shake hands. She responds well when called and loves all toys.. She seems to do well with other dogs. She takes treats gently and enjoys being petted. Bee should go to a home with older children since she startles to sudden noises. She may have some vision impairment but it doesn't hamper her ability to run around the yard. She gets around great and plays with other dogs. Since Bee is not housed at DRNT, let us know if you want to meet her so we can get her to Grand Prairie.

Skittles might be the perfect family dog. Although we haven't had her around kids, she is sweet, young and calm. She does fine with all the other large dogs and is not food aggressive. The previous owner who had her almost three years said she did not get along with their small female dog. Please bring any pets with you to meet her. She takes treats gently and will sit when asked. Skittles walked easily on leash and is outgoing and affectionate. She didn't jump up on people and loves attention. This little gal appears to be perfect for anyone who will love her, but a family with children might consider her for her gentle demeanor. !!Since Skittles is not housed at DRNT, let us know if you want to meet her so we can get her to Grand Prairie.

She is easy to handle and has a soft personality so might be good with older kids. Rain is ready for a home of her own and this sweet girl certainly deserves it. Dotty is a sweet loving gal with a lot of pep in her step. She enjoys running around outside and will chase a tennis ball but hasn't mastered the fetch concept. She is gentle and leans in for pets and ear rubs. Dotty is a happy girl with her tail constantly wagging. She loves treats and has a very gentle mouth. Dotty had fun with squeaky toys and was not destructive. She arrived at DRNT with her sister who has been adopted--now it's Dotty's turn. He recently completed his heartworm treatment, and the vet says he is doing great with no damage done to his heart.  He is now a very healthy two year old.  His fosters adore him and told us he is a fun and very loving dog.
