Story
Luka is one of the sweetest dogs. It breaks our family hearts to have to rehome him. Luka was adopted 3 years ago. He was our dream dog. Luka was abandoned before we adopted him and was in very poor health. Luka takes a bit to trust people since he was abandoned but once he trust you he shows the most amazing love. Luka has been my “weighted blanket” since he came into our home. Luka loves sticks, balls, and a comfort blanket. Luka will be better if he is rehomed with another a pet but it is not required. This is the hardest thing for my family since he is VERY well loved. Luka does suffer from anxiety and with our 8 month baby at home it is only heightening it. Looking for someone to love him as much as we do!

Story
Duchess was in a small, high kill shelter when we came across her information. Her eyes were so infected she couldn’t open them and the shelter had posted her as being blind. Our vet discovered that Duchess doesn’t produce tears and the chronic dry eye had been untreated so long her corneas were damaged and infected. This sweet girl was so shut down initially she had to remember what a special dog she is. We are trying our best to save her eyes, she gets 2 types of medicated drops twice a day and artificial tears as often as possible. She’s learned to let her foster clean her eyes and is good about getting her drops. She’s able to see now although not as well as we hope she can as we progress. She will need eye drops ongoing. Duchess now plays with the other dogs in her foster home and enjoys running around her yard. Her very favorite thing is getting attention and spending time with her humans. She just wants to totally devote herself to her human and take care of her family. This girl is a wonderful Doberman and an ambassador for the breed. She is house trained, can use a doggie door or ask to go outside if she doesn't have one. She is fine being left home alone or with her canine friends but would rather go wherever her human is going. She’s great going for rides and would be the perfect travel companion. Duchess is fully vetted - current with vaccines, spayed, on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, and is microchipped.

Story
DOB: 8/1/23 Weight: approx. 65 lbs Ash is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped and heartworm negative. He's looking for an active family that has lots of time to spend with him. He loves being right by his people's side and is as affectionate as they come. Ash is house and crate trained, and loves having plenty of things to chew on to keep him occupied. He has separation anxiety and wouldn't thrive in a home where his people are home often.  He's still young and learning his size, so Ash shouldn't be in a home with small children as he tends to get too excited and can knock them over.  If you're interested in meeting Ash, please apply online and we'll be in touch. Fee is $275 https://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoption-application/We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Therefore, if you are interested in adopting from LHS, please complete an online application at http://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ and we will contact you asap about the status of your application. Story
DAWSON is a young dog who has spent most of his life in a 5x8 kennel, not enough play and run time . I am so proud of the progress he has made!s. At first he was like a  wild feral dog , flopping and rolling when leashed, he has adjusted well and now can walk on the leash as well as be trusted to free roam when alone. Comes when called. He likes to visit all the other dogs outside kennels, just to say hello. He loves to be petted and sits at your feet, very close to his person. He is still a very energetic pup and will need a very active family with a large fenced yard for zoomies. Teen age kids would be the best fit for him. He is loving and sweet, he sits for you with encouragement. We are working on his sitting at doors, but sometimes he is just too excited to wait! Dawson tested with 6 cats in a large room, although curious he was not agressive. We have a lot of squirrels, so far he has not noticed them. He will be a great addition to an active family! https://bit.ly/codys_adoption_application. ##2418623##
