Story
Duchess was in a small, high-kill shelter when we came across her information. Her eyes were so infected that she could not open them, and the shelter had posted her as being blind. Our vet discovered that Duchess doesn’t produce tears, and the chronic dry eye had been untreated for so long that her corneas were damaged and infected. This sweet girl was initially so shut down that she had to remind herself what a special dog she is. We are trying our best to save her eyes; she gets two types of medicated drops twice a day and artificial tears as often as possible. She has learned to let her foster clean her eyes and is good about getting her drops. She is now able to see, although not as well as we hope she will as we progress. She will need eye drops ongoing. Duchess now plays with the other dogs in her foster home and enjoys running around her yard. Her very favorite thing is getting attention and spending time with her humans. She wants to devote herself entirely to her family and take care of them. This girl is a wonderful Doberman and an ambassador for the breed. She is house trained, can use a doggie door, or ask to go outside if she doesn't have one. She is fine being left home alone or with her canine friends, but would rather go wherever her human is going. She’s great at going for rides and would be the perfect travel companion. Duchess is fully vetted, current with vaccines, spayed, on flea and tick prevention, heartworm prevention, and is microchipped.

Story
Meet Dobby! This affectionate boy is looking for a FURever home where he can cuddle up with his person or family and play fetch. He's very smart and is already housebroken, knows no, listens well, and has a desire to keep learning what you're willing to teach him! He'd make a great partner for someone that enjoys a nice run or jog and then coming home to relax, his preferred relaxation being a nice bone to chew on. He enjoys a nice chase so probably best with no feline friends, possibly a selective canine companion, but has done well with children. If his zest for life doesn't win you over, his adorably large ears surely will! Apply to bring this big boy home today! All Abandoned Pet Project Rescue adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on age appropriate vaccines upon adoption. The standard minimum donation for dogs over six months to seven years is $200, puppies under six months is $250, dogs eight years and over are $100 unless specified otherwise. You can view all the adoptable pets and fill out an adoption application online on our website at bit.ly/APPRAdoptableDogs. For more information, you can email adopt@abandonedpetproject.org.

Story
Meet Winnie! A soulful six-year-old Doberman Pinscher mix, Winnie is a 40-pound girl with a tricolor coat, expressive eyes, and a calm presence indoors. She loves cozy afternoons, warm sunny spots, belly rubs, and quiet companionship, and she has a gentle way of making home feel peaceful. Winnie is affectionate, smart, and well trained. She knows sit, stay, down, come, shake, and off, and she is crate-trained, house-trained, and comfortable spending time on her own. She bonds closely with the people she trusts, tends to feel most at ease around women, and enjoys the simple routines of daily life. Winnie needs a patient, experienced pet parent who can provide a calm, structured environment and thoughtful introductions. She can growl at strangers and needs continued training and behavior support to help her navigate situations that make her uncomfortable. She can feel overwhelmed by unfamiliar people entering her space and does best when interactions happen slowly and on her terms. Her next family should understand her full bite history, including a few earlier incidents over the years and a more recent serious bite that required medical attention. Triggers include unfamiliar men, people bending down or reaching toward the floor around her, busy or high-stimulation environments, and her strong prey drive toward small animals. Adopters should also be aware that her most recent bite occurred with no warning signals beforehand. She also has a strong prey drive and can become overstimulated in busy environments. On a short, quiet sidewalk walk, Winnie can be steady and lovely. In crowded parks or high-traffic settings with lots of dogs, people, and small animals, she has a much harder time settling. She is only neutral with larger dogs following careful introductions and is not compatible with small dogs. Because of her prey drive, she needs a home with no cats and no small pets or animals. Winnie requires a securely fenced yard and would do best in a private rural or farm-like setting with space to decompress and no immediate neighbors. She needs an adult-only, child-free home with an adopter experienced in behavior management who is committed to working with a behaviorist and continuing positive reinforcement-based support. Winnie currently receives 30 mg of Fluoxetine daily to support her behavior needs, and the effectiveness of this medication is currently under review. For the right person, Winnie is a loyal, loving, and deeply comforting companion with so much to give. If you are someone who understands that some dogs need a quieter world and a thoughtful approach, Winnie may be the companion you have been looking for. Story
I’m Kaci, a 1-year-old Doberman Pinscher mix with a gentle heart and playful spirit. I get along great with dogs and kids, and I already know how to sit! I’m affectionate, curious, and love playing with toys. I walk nicely on a leash and enjoy getting attention once I feel comfortable. I can be a little shy at first, but once I open up, I’m as sweet and loyal as they come. My foster family says I’m an absolute doll and I can’t wait to find a forever home that feels the same way.

Story
Ziggy has made a lot of progress since joining Rescue Row, and we are proud of how far he’s come. As we have shared before, Ziggy can be reactive when meeting new people, particularly when he is being held and someone approaches him. We believe this behavior is rooted in fear and insecurity, likely influenced by experiences in his previous home. Because of this, Ziggy needs a family that understands his triggers and is committed to helping him continue building confidence through patience, positive reinforcement, and proper introductions. Ziggy has attended training session where they focused helping him have positive experiences meeting new people. Ziggy isn’t a difficult dog, he’s a young dog who is still learning to feel safe and comfortable in new situations. His foster family continues to work with him every day, and he already has additional training sessions scheduled. Ziggy does very well with the dogs in his foster home and gains confidence from having canine companions around. Because of this, Ziggy will need another playful, confident dog in his forever home. He loves to wrestle, play, and snuggle up with his dog friends. Per Wisdom Panel, Ziggy is 6 different breeds, with the top two breeds being 54% Miniature Pinscher and 29% Shih Tzu. Ziggy isn’t the right fit for every home, but for a family willing to continue the work his foster family has started, he has the potential to be an amazing companion. If you are interested in adding this little guy to your family, applications can be submitted at www.rescuerowinc.org *Please check your junk email folder if you do not receive a response from a Rescue Row member within 48 hours. *You must live within an hour of the DFW Metroplex because we do trial adoptions and require a homecheck *Our adoption fees are as follows (paid by cash or a check made out to Rescue Row): Dogs 12 weeks-6 months old: $300 adoption fee  Dogs 7 months and older: $275 adoption fee  Rescue Row is a 501(c)3 (non-profit) all volunteer dog rescue organization serving the DFW Metroplex. We are dedicated to rescuing dogs in shelters, dogs in abusive or neglectful situations, and dogs surrendered by their owners because of difficult circumstances. We place dogs in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process, which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog into their homes and lives. Dogs in our care are spayed or neutered, microchipped, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement in their permanent homes. We assist dogs in distress without regard to age, breed or ease of placement. Dogs in the greatest need take priority. Finally, we strive to work with shelters and other rescue and humane organizations to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to create a better world for homeless dogs. ##2722046##

Story
Milo is looking for his person, and we want to be honest about the good, the bad, and the challenging parts of who he is so we can find him the right home. Let’s start with the good! Milo is an incredibly easy houseguest. He is quiet, kennels on command, sleeps through the night in bed with his foster mom, and has a very calm demeanor. He loves to snuggle, doesn’t destroy things, eats alongside the other dogs in his foster home without any food aggression, is wonderful for nail trims, is potty trained and walks great on a leash. He truly enjoys his daily walks! Now for the harder parts. Milo gets nervous in the car and will shake during rides. He also barks at the doorbell and when visitors come over. While he peacefully coexists with other dogs, he doesn’t really seek out their companionship. The biggest challenge is that Milo does not do well with men and may bite if he feels uncomfortable. He has made progress with his foster dad and will occasionally jump into his lap, but building that trust has taken time and patience. Because of this, we feel Milo would do best in a single female home. Situations involving male visitors, such as repair workers or guests, would require Milo to be safely kenneled. We know this may not paint Milo in the best light, but the truth is he is a really wonderful dog who simply needs the right environment to feel safe and secure. Milo is an almost 6 year old Chihuahua mix weighing 15 pounds. If you think you may be Milo’s person, applications can be submitted at www.rescuerowinc.org. *Please check your junk email folder if you do not receive a response from a Rescue Row member within 2-4 business days.
