Story
Pia is a 1 year old Doberman. She is great with other dogs and loves to be with her person (or people). She has some insecurities around men, as she barks at male strangers and sometimes the boys in her foster home. Her foster family is working to build Pia’s confidence to help her overcome this, and they are already seeing progress. They are also working on her mouthing and counter-surfing. Despite this, they say that she is a sweet and low-maintenance pup. She loves “her spot” on the couch, loves to run, and loves stealing clothes to snuggle up with. She is working on crate training and is doing well, and she is potty trained. No little dogs, or kids! If you would like to adopt a dog from Rescue Row please fill out an application at www.rescuerowinc.org *Please check your junk email folder if you do not receive a response from a Rescue Row member within 2-4 business days. *You must live within an hour of the DFW Metroplex because we do trial adoptions and require a homecheck *Our adoption fees are as follows (paid by cash or a check made out to Rescue Row): Dogs 12 weeks-6 months old: $300 adoption fee  Dogs 7 months and older: $275 adoption fee  Rescue Row is a 501(c)3 (non-profit) all volunteer dog rescue organization serving the DFW Metroplex. We are dedicated to rescuing dogs in shelters, dogs in abusive or neglectful situations, and dogs surrendered by their owners because of difficult circumstances. We place dogs in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process, which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog into their homes and lives. Dogs in our care are spayed or neutered, microchipped, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement in their permanent homes. We assist dogs in distress without regard to age, breed or ease of placement. Dogs in the greatest need take priority. Finally, we strive to work with shelters and other rescue and humane organizations to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to create a better world for homeless dogs. ##1602471##

Story
Rocket 'Rocky' is a 3 month old (Aug.) pure bred blue Doberman with a birth defect that left his hind legs paralyzed. His mom was taken in to get fixed and his litter was discovered after she was opened up. We think he may have been injured in this process since the rest of his litter is very healthy and both parents were from excellent bloodlines and registered. He was rescued from previous owners who left him to fend for himself outside dragging himself around on a fresh tail dock. He was treated for giardia, coccidia, an extreme bacterial skin infection all over his body and malnourishment. Under vet care and meds 7 times a day, he pulled through and is now fully recovered and very healthy. He doesn't know he is any different from other dogs, he gets around great in his wheelchair or hind support straps and loves to run and play with other dogs. Inside, he scoots around in a 'hop/scoot' fashion and is surprisingly mobile (aside from stairs). He does wear pants or diapers to protect his tail from rub burns. He is learning to play gently after earning the nickname 'land shark' and has shown improvement with play biting. He is not aggressive with any animals or people, even when food is involved but doesn’t understand how strong his bite can be sometimes. He does have bowel control and is working on housebreaking but may not have full control of his bladder. Hoping he will gain more control as he ages but he tends to dribble occasionally. He will need bigger wheelchairs as he gets older but is highly mobile and functional with the right tools. He is very intelligent and knows how to enjoy life to the fullest despite everything he's been through. He loves meeting new friends, human or animal and would love to find his new home! If you feel your home might be the right place for this wonderful dog, the place to start is with the adoption application found at www.dfwrescueme.org/adopt.  Once submitted, the foster will contact you to tell you more, and to arrange a meeting! The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $250.00, which includes their vaccinations and spay/neuter. Rocket is participating in the DFW Rescue Me Guest Dog Program, so custody and ongoing care are provided by the foster, not by DFWRM.September 26, 2023, 6:18 pm

Story
Xena, like her namesake, is a warrior princess who beat parvovirus when she was 7 weeks old! She is a 2 year old, 54 lb. red and rust Doberman Pinscher, with a sweet and silly personality. She was brought home at 8 weeks from a family whoâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s two Dobermans had just had 6 puppies. Her mom is a red and rust European Doberman, and her dad is a black and rust American Doberman.

Xena is bouncy and playful and loves going out to explore on walks and visits to the dog park. She gets along well with other dogs, big or small. She would love to play with cats too, if they would tolerate her playful antics! She plays well with older children but may accidentally knock over smaller ones if there are any in the household. As full of energy as she is, she is also very cuddly and affectionate and will curl up with you to watch tv on the couch. The ideal home would provide for a house with a yard and lots of exercise, and lots of quality time with her person. She does experience mild separation anxiety since she is used to a work from home arrangement and is not accustomed to being crated for extensive periods.

Xena is up to date on all her shots, spayed, and microchipped. She is house trained, crate trained, knows how to sit, stay, sit up, lay down, go around, shake, and a few other commands. She does need work with loose lease walking. She is wonderfully smart and with consistency will pick it up quickly. She also loves car rides with the windows down and doesnâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t get sick in the car.

Sadly, with apartment living, a full work schedule, and travel and school demands, I am no longer able to take care of her energy needs but want to find the happiest, most fulfilling home for her that I can. If you are in search of a smart and energetic adventure buddy, please reach out and weâ&#194&#128&#194&#153ll arrange to meet and let you and Xena get to know each other!

Story
Meet Dobby! This affectionate boy is looking for a FURever home where he can cuddle up with his person or family and play fetch. He's very smart and is already housebroken, knows no, listens well, and has a desire to keep learning what you're willing to teach him! He'd make a great partner for someone that enjoys a nice run or jog and then coming home to relax, his preferred relaxation being a nice bone to chew on. He enjoys a nice chase so probably best with no feline friends, possibly a selective canine companion, but has done well with children. If his zest for life doesn't win you over, his adorably large ears surely will! Apply to bring this big boy home today! All Abandoned Pet Project Rescue adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on age appropriate vaccines upon adoption. The standard minimum donation for dogs over six months to seven years is $200, puppies under six months is $250, dogs eight years and over are $100 unless specified otherwise. You can view all the adoptable pets and fill out an adoption application online on our website at bit.ly/APPRAdoptableDogs. For more information, you can email adopt@abandonedpetproject.org.
