Story
Koda (A140063) is an 8-year-old husky who weighed nearly 50 lbs at intake!04/03/26 Miss Koda is back at the shelter due to allergies in her most recent home. Koda was said to be housebroken and somewhat kennel trained (she likes to make noise in her kennel). She knows some basic commands, such as sit, stay and down. She has been known to chew, get into the trash, and be vocal at times. But she was said to ride well in the car. Koda can be nervous around men, but she was said to do well with women and kids as young as 4! Koda's interactions with other dogs in her most recent home were more positive than previously determined. However, she can be very excitable around other dogs and may come off too strong. Please use caution if planning to introduce her to any other dogs. She was said to like cats though! Koda does like to spend a lot of time outside, and she is used to being in a fenced in pen when outdoor. It was noted that she had used a boundary collar at times, but she did not always listen to it so it is not recommended. If you are interested in meeting Koda, please give us a call!10/25/25 This sweet little lady is Koda, and she is hoping to be an only dog. Koda was brought to the shelter because her previous owner needed to move into housing that did not allow pets. Koda was described as being a shy but gentle girl. She was said to not mind cats, but she dislikes other dogs and will growl at them. Koda has no experience with children, so please use caution and be sure to do slow and controlled introductions with kiddos. Koda was said to be housebroken and kennel trained. She is used to spending most of her time outside, so she may need some reminders on these issues in a new home as she adjusts to the routine. She has been known to jump on people and to be vocal at times. However, she was said to ride well in the car, and she knows some basic commands such as no, stay, and up. Koda was even said to have some training in harness, so she may be a great skijor or canicross buddy! If you are interested in meeting Miss Koda, please give us a call!April 4, 2026, 12:34 am

Story
Grunden (A141057) is a 5-month-old Husky x Rottweiler mix available for adoption! 03/28/26 This handsome guy is back again because his most recent owners felt they were not properly equipped to handle his socializaton. Grunden can be fearful in new situations. While he has been eager to greet all members of the care staff at the shelter, it is likely that he may take longer to adjust in a home setting. He would do best in a quieter home that will patiently allow him to get his bearings and feel comfortable. Grunden was said to do well with babies and children in his most recent home, as well as other dogs. He has been known to chew and jump fences, so make sure he has plenty of appropriate chew toys and is secured on a leash or tie out when outside. He does need some help with mastering potty training and learning some manners, but he is young so we have confidence in him! If you are interested in meeting Grunden, please give us a call!02/21/26 Mister Grunden is back at the shelter after a brief adoption due to his most recent owner discovering they were actually severely allergic to him! If you are interested in meeting Grunden, please give us a call!02/03/26 These adorable pups were surrendered to the shelter in hopes of finding their new places to call home! Their mom was stated to be a Rottweiler x Lab mix, and their dad was unknown (however, we suspect that their dad is a Husky x GSD mix). Puppies are a lot of work but worth the reward if you have the time to devote to them. They have been working on kennel training but will need continued help with all of their training – kennel training, potty training, basic commands, and continued positive socialization. They were described as very friendly puppies who have done well with people of all ages. They were also said to be playful with other dogs and to do well with the cat in the home. Please ensure you are making appropriate introductions with all new potential friends. These pups were known to chew, and are teething, so providing them with appropriate toys, so they do not chew on you, is important! Frozen kongs can be a great tool! If you are interested in meeting any of these rambunctious pups, please let us know!April 4, 2026, 12:34 am

Story
Baya is the kind of dog who wakes up like she’s already late for an adventure. If there’s snow, she’s ready to sprint. If there’s no snow, she’ll just improvise on how to get that energy out. We've seen a lot of smarts out of this girl so even though she's set in high gear. We feel she has a lot of potential as a companion. This high-octane sled dog mix comes fully equipped with turbo ears, lightning-fast zoomies, and a deep belief that every human she meets is her new teammate. She’s got that “let’s go right now” energy, paired with just enough charm to convince you it was your idea all along. If you’ve got an active lifestyle and a sense of humor, Baya’s already halfway out the door waiting for you!

Story
Manny is the definition of a sweetheart — a gentle senior boy with a loving heart, soulful eyes, and the kind of hugs that stay with you long after you’ve let go. He has been incredibly affectionate with everyone he’s met so far, leaning in for love, soaking up attention, and charming everyone around him with his soft, loyal nature. He truly is a total lover boy. Having already lived through plenty of life’s adventures, Manny seems to appreciate the simple things most: being close to his people, enjoying the outdoors, and feeling part of a family. He previously lived as an indoor dog and spent most of his day relaxing inside, where he was comfortable being part of everyday home life. He goes outside to potty and will usually let you know he needs to go by whining. Manny is crate trained, knows several cues including sit, down, off, drop, quiet, and outside/potty, and clearly understands what it means to be a well-loved companion. His favorite toy? Socks — which only adds to his endearing personality. He loves water, does well with baths and handling, and is comfortable being touched all over. He has been allowed on furniture in the past, naps during car rides, and may even let out an occasional little howl — just enough to remind you he has plenty of personality left to share! Manny is friendly with visitors and has done well with men, women, children, small animals, and livestock. He has never lived with cats, so we cannot say for certain how he would do with them. Around other dogs, Manny may need a little extra patience and reassurance, as he appears to have developed some nervousness after being attacked by another dog in a previous home. Slow introductions will help him feel safe and comfortable. As a senior boy who has had hip surgery in the past, Manny deserves a home that appreciates him for exactly who he is — a loyal companion with so much love still to give. He may not be looking for chaos or adventure, but he is looking for soft places to rest, kind people to adore, and a family who will treasure the gentle joy he brings.
