Story
Lilo (A140931) is a 3-year-old AK Husky x Pointer mix who weighed 50 pounds on intake!01/22/26 These eager-to-go pups were surrendered to the shelter because their owner is facing some medical concerns and is unable to provide them with the lifestyle they need. They are working dogs and were said to be wonderful sled dogs! All these pups were stated to get along well with other dogs and are great pullers. They are accustomed to living out on a dog house but were said to have enjoyed coming inside during that super cold snap. However, they are not housebroken, and if you do plan on transitioning them to indoors, they will need help adjusting to indoor living â&#194&#128&#194&#147 potty training, kennel training, basic commands, etc. They know mushing commands but that is about it. They would love to join a rec team or even to become your adventure buddy if you live an active lifestyle â&#194&#128&#194&#147 skijoring, bikejoring, or even becoming your hiking buddy! Anything to keep them both mentally and physically stimulated so they stay out of trouble! If you are interested in meeting any of this crew or possibly the whole gang, please let us know! Sox loves to run and can be a little nibbly out of excitement when he sees the harness come out! These boys are brothers and were stated to be AK Husky and German Shepherd mixes with a smidge of pitty mixed in. They are used to living outdoors on dog houses but have been enjoying the warmth of our inside kennels during this cold snap! They were said to love curling up in their straw when outdoors and coming inside to cozy up next to the fireplace. When they can not get out for a run on the sled, they were said to love playing with each other in a fenced-in yard or going on long walks through the woods! Story
Mya (A135677) is a 1-year-11-month-old Sharpei x Rottweiler mix who weighed just over 70pounds on intake! 02/12/26 Mya was surrendered to the shelter because her owner did not have housing that could accommodate her, and her pet sitter was unable to continue tending to her. The sitter had been watching her for months and stated that she is a fabulous dog, but with their long work hours, they really did not have the time to fully commit to having a dog for the long run. She is a young girl is hoping to find a family to love her for the rest of her life! Mya has been struggling with potty training and is looking for a patient owner who can continue to work with her. We also encourage her next owner to bring her to a basic obedience class with a certified trainer to continue working on her manners and learn a trick or two! If you are interested in meeting Mya, please let us know! 10/09/24 Miss Uâ&#194&#128&#194&#153sa is back at the shelter and eager to find her right fit! Uâ&#194&#128&#194&#153sa was surrendered back to the shelter because her adoptive owners found that she had a high prey drive and they had cats in the home. She would do best in a home without small dogs, cats, or pocket pets to set her up for success! Uâ&#194&#128&#194&#153sa was said to do well with other dogs. However, appropriate introductions are key! She was also said to do well with people of all ages, including babies and children! She has been a sweet girl to the care staff at the shelter! In their home, she did excellent in a kennel and was noted to be housebroken! She also does great on car rides! If you are interested in meeting Uâ&#194&#128&#194&#153sa and have no small critters around, please let us know! 08/27/24 This sweet little lady is Uâ&#194&#128&#194&#153sa! Uâ&#194&#128&#194&#153sa was said to be 75% Sharpei and 25% Rottweiler. Add that together, and she is 100% wonderful! Uâ&#194&#128&#194&#153sa was described as a very sweet dog who does well with everyone, including babies and children! The shelter environment can be a bit scary, but she is being brave and conquering her fears! In her prior home, Uâ&#194&#128&#194&#153sa was said to be kennel trained, housebroken, and to ride well in a car. She was known to dig and get into the trash if left unsupervised. At 5 months old, we highly encourage her next owner to bring her to a basic obedience class with a certified trainer to continue working on her manners and for the added positive socialization. Uâ&#194&#128&#194&#153sa was said to do well with other animals including dogs, cats, pocket pets, and livestock. Please ensure you are making appropriate introductions with new animals. Uâ&#194&#128&#194&#153sa was seen by our shelter vet and had entropion surgery. She is doing great but does need to remain in her cone until fully healed. If you are interested in meeting Uâ&#194&#128&#194&#153sa, please let us know!February 26, 2026, 6:41 pm

Story
Shadow is a 4-year-old Mastiff x Lab mix who weighed 112.1 pounds on intake! He is quite chunky and needs to loose a few pounds!03/01/26 Shadow is back! In his most recent home he was described as being gentle when playing, housebroken, outgoing, rides well in the car, and kennel trained! But he is a chewer, likes to get in the trash, and can be a little stubborn. He also needs to be fed seperatly from ALL other animals as he can be sensitive around his food. He will need to have planned meals, as he tends to over eat when freely fed. He was assessed by the shelter vet who stated his ideal weight should be nearing 85 pounds. We encourage his next owner to work with their vet on helping him shed those pounds! Smaller frequent meals help. Like any animal it is important to make introductions with any new friend in a slow and controlled manner. He was reported to have done well with both the cats and dogs he met in his most recent home! If you are interested in meeting Shadow please give the shelter a call!12/08/25 This happy boy is Shadow! Shadow is back at the shelter due to no fault of his own. He was described as a very affectionate boy who loves people of all ages â&#194&#128&#194&#147 big and small! However, he can be very excitable and does like to jump on people. Shadow was said to be kennel-trained, housebroken, and rides well in cars. When his owner is not home, Shadow was said to be kept in the kennel as he was known to chew and get into the trash if given the opportunity. When it comes to other animals, Shadow was said to be curious towards cats and can be selective with other dogs. He was said to generally be gentle but can become irritable if the other dog does not give him space. Appropriate introductions are important in helping set him up for success! We have found at the shelter that Shadow is very treat-motivated, which can be great with training. He is a sweet boy looking for his next person to love! If you are interested in meeting Shadow, please let us know!02/19/24 Shadow was returned to the shelter because his adoptive owner could no longer care for him. We unfortunately did not receive any additional behavior on how Shadow behaved in their care. Shadow was excited to see the care staff and still seems to have his happy go lucky energy! Shadow is a large dog and does like to jump on people. He would benefit from attending a basic obedience class to continue working on his manners in his next home! If you are interested in meeting Shadow, please let us know! 01/31/24 This big loving goofball is Shadow! Shadow was surrendered to the shelter because the older dog in the home was starting to beat up on him. Shadow did not engage and was said to love other dogs. He was even said to do well with the cats in the home. Please ensure you are doing appropriate introductions with all new animals. Shadow is a large dog and other animals might not always appreciate his enthusiasm. Shadow was said to be kennel trained, housebroken, rides well in a car, and knows a variety of commands. He does have a history of jumping on counters so please make sure to not leave anything tempting in reach. Shadow was described as a very loving dog who wants to be a lap dog! He was said to do wonderful with people of all ages including babies and children. He was said to very patient with the 1 year old in his prior home. If you are interested in meeting this sweet boy, please let us know! March 3, 2026, 8:25 pm

Story
Jeremiah (A141308) is just over a year old, a Lab mix, who weighed nearly 90 pounds on intake! 03/03/26 This handsome boy is Jeremiah! Jeremiah was surrendered to the shelter in hopes of finding his new loving family. This pup was getting himself into trouble by visiting the neighbor's home and getting into their trash. He might enjoy having a fenced-in yard in his next home so he can enjoy the outdoors without wandering off. Jeremiah was said to be kennel trained, housebroken, and know his basic commands. He has no experience with men but was said to do well with children in his last home. Making appropriate introductions is important in helping him feel secure and setting him up for success. Jeremiah was said to get along with other dogs but has no experience with smaller critters like cats or pocket pets. Slow, safe, and controlled introductions are always recommended. Jeremiah is a sweet boy and would love to find his new home; if you are interested in meeting him, please let us know! Fun fact: His surrendering owner stated his mom was a purebred lab, and his dad had quite the lineage, with his DNA test coming back as Golden Retriever, Pyrenees, German Shepherd, Chow Chow mix. Jeremiah was also said to be the firstborn of the litter and was born on Valentine's Day! March 3, 2026, 5:04 pm
