Story
Toby (A123758) is a 6-year-old lab who weighed 76.5 pounds on intake! 07/06/26 Toby, previously known as Otis, is back at the shelter and looking for his new home! He was described as a perfect dog! However, it was noted that he is also a free spirit and will bolt the door to take himself on a grand adventure! It is important to be mindful of the door when opening to the outdoors so he does not make his great escape. Toby was stated to be kennel trained, housebroken, rides well in a car, and knows his basic commands! He was stated to do fabulous with everyone he meets including babies and children! He also was said to LOVE other dogs; please ensure you are making appropriate introductions to continue setting him up for success! Toby is the sweetest boy looking for his next family to continue loving! If you are interested in meeting Toby, please let us know! Foster update: Otis has been great during the time I've been fostering him! He has good manners; he is house trained (will stand by the door and whine to go out), crate trained and seems to know not to jump on furniture. He rarely barks and is incredibly happy and energetic. Otis is very friendly with both people and dogs and will play for hours. He has gotten along really well with the other dogs in the household (all big dogs, including an intact male).01/03/26 This handsome and happy guy is Otis! Otis was brought to the shelter due to no fault of his own with his little brother Larry! We do not have much information Otis' behavior and history. He has been VERY outgoing while at the shelter, eager to say hello to every single human. Otis' buddy Larry is a smaller dog, so he appears to do well with at least small dogs. He has not seemed too bothered by his doggy neighbors, while at the shelter. Please make sure that any and all introductions to other animals are done in a slow and controlled manner to allow for the best possible outcome. Otis has kept his kennel relatively clean while at the shelter, so he may be housebroken. He has been very excitable and energetic, so he may be the type of dog to accidentally knock into people, especially smaller kiddos. Please keep this in mind if you have little ones in the house. Courtesy of the shelter fund, Otis was sent our for a dental cleaning! He should be on soaked food until 1/23/26 while his gums heal. If you are interested in meeting Otis, please give us a call!July 11, 2026, 11:51 pm

Chewy (A142746) is a 3-year-old lab x brittany mix who weighed over 50 lbs at intake!07/11/26 These handsome and oh so sweet brothers are Sol and Chewy! While we are not requiring they be adopted together, they are quite fond of each other. So maybe consider the pair, if you have the time and space! They were surrendered to the shelter due to the children losing interest in them. They were described as being outgoing, friendly and affectionate. They have been known to play roughly. They know some basic commands, such as sit, come, lay down, outside, kennel and enough. They were said to be nervous but gentle around babies and children and curious about strangers. Outside of each other, they do not have experience with other dogs or other types of animals. Please use caution if planning to introduce either of these boys into a home with other animals. Fear Free Happy Pets has some great resources on proper introductions! They are still young and rambunctious and have been known to dig, chew and scratch. They have also been known to be vocal. Providing them with plenty of enrichment and appropriate chew toys can help mitigate or redirect these behaviors. If you are interested in meeting either Sol, Chewy, or the pair, please give us a call!July 11, 2026, 11:51 pm

Sunshine (A142297) is a 1-year-old husky mix who weighed 50 pounds on intake!05/30/26 This happy and vocal lady is Sunshine! Sunshine arrived at the shelter as a stray, so we do not know much about her history. Sunshine can be very nervous inside and is a completely different once outside. She appears to be used to living in a dog yard and may actually have been raised as a sled dog. We do not know her feelings towards other dogs, cats, or kiddos, so please make sure any and all introductions are done in slow and controlled manner. Sunshine may need some help with potty and kennel training. She is a very active and wiggly girl once she is comfortable. If you are interested in meeting Sunshine, please give the shelter a call!July 11, 2026, 11:51 pm

Story
Lilo (A140931) is a 3-year-old AK Husky x Pointer mix who weighed 50 pounds on intake!01/22/26 These eager-to-go pups were surrendered to the shelter because their owner is facing some medical concerns and is unable to provide them with the lifestyle they need. They are working dogs and were said to be wonderful sled dogs! All these pups were stated to get along well with other dogs and are great pullers. They are accustomed to living out on a dog house but were said to have enjoyed coming inside during that super cold snap. However, they are not housebroken, and if you do plan on transitioning them to indoors, they will need help adjusting to indoor living – potty training, kennel training, basic commands, etc. They know mushing commands but that is about it. They would love to join a rec team or even to become your adventure buddy if you live an active lifestyle – skijoring, bikejoring, or even becoming your hiking buddy! Anything to keep them both mentally and physically stimulated so they stay out of trouble! If you are interested in meeting any of this crew or possibly the whole gang, please let us know! Story
Connie (A134243) is a 5-year-old Pit Bull who weighed 60.4 pounds on intake! 06/27/26 Miss Connie is back after an overnight adoption because she was very determined to chase the cats in her most recent home. For this reason, we highly recommend she go to a home without cats. If you are interested in meeting Connie, please give us a call!06/23/26 Connie, previously known as Coney, is back at the shelter due to no fault of her own. Sadly, her last owner was moving into a residence that does not allow pets. She was described as an outgoing and friendly dog. Historically, she has done well with babies and children, but was known to bark at strangers initially but quickly warms up! She was also said to do well with other dogs once appropriate introductions were made. While in their care, Connie was said to be kennel-trained, housebroken, rides well in a car, and knows her basic commands. Connie is quite overweight and we encourage her next owner to work with their vet on helping Connie shed a few pounds. If you are interested in meeting Connie, please let us know! 08/30/24 Coney, previously known as DeeDee, was brought back to the shelter because she had become destructive when bored. Coney was described as being a very loving and sweet dog who got along with children, strangers, other dogs and even cats in her previous home. Coney was said to know some basic commands such as sit, come, stay, kennel, and paw! Enrolling her in a basic obedience class with a certified trainer would be a great way to round out her training and manners and is likely to help with managing her destructive habits. Providing plenty of physical and mental enrichment and appropriate chew toys will also help! This will also help with her chewing and digging habits! Coney was said to ride well in the car and to be housebroken and kennel trained. she will whine to let you know she needs to go out! This outgoing, friendly and affectionate girl was said to be gentle when playing and quite the little lovebug! If you are interested in meeting Miss Coney, please let us know!04/18/24 Delightful DeeDee is eager to find her new home after arriving at the shelter as a stray. Since she was a stray, we do not know if she has a history with children or other animals. On intake, she was the biggest sweetheart, and her personality has continued to shine! She was initially uncertain of her doggy neighbors but now appears indifferent. Please ensure you do slow, safe, and controlled introductions with all new friends! DeeDee has been very tidy at the shelter and we think she may already be housebroken! However, she may need some reminders as she settles into her new home. We also encourage her new owner to bring her to a basic obedience class to continue working on her manners and to learn a trick or two! We would love to help DeeDee find her new person to love! If you are interested in meeting DeeDee, please let us know! July 11, 2026, 11:51 pm

Chewy (A141750) is a 5-year-old AK Husky who weighed 53 pounds on intake! 04/16/26 This lover boy is Chewy! Chewy was surrendered to the shelter with his friend Tequila! These kiddos have been living the outdoor sled dog life. They are used to living on a doghouse, so if you plan on transitioning them indoors, keep in mind they will need help with all the basics. However, they may be keen to learn! They have previously run a dog team, but their surrendering owner felt they may enjoy being on a smaller rec team or even becoming your skijor buddy. They are an active breed, so they will need continued mental and physical stimulation. Both Tequila and Chewy were said to do well with children, strangers, and adults. They also have historically done well with other dogs and livestock. Please ensure you are making appropriate introductions with all new people and other animals. If you are interested in meeting Chewy, please let us know! July 11, 2026, 11:51 pm
