Story
Ares (A140507) is a 5-year-old Rottweiler who weighed just over 60 pounds on intake! 12/04/25 This goofy boy is Ares! Ares is quite the character and looking for his right place to call home. He was described as an outgoing, friendly, and affectionate dog. However, he does have a rough style of play and used to roughhousing with his male owner. Ares was said to be a high energy dog and does not understand his strength. When it comes to children, he will barrel into them without even realizing it. He would do best in a home without children under 12 to avoid any accidental knockovers. Ares was stated to be kennel trained, housebroken, and rides well in a car. Ares also knows the command sit and stay but does not always mind the best. He is also a very strong boy and could improve on his leash etiquette. Ares has no experience with smaller critters and was said to do well with other dogs as long as the other dog is not reactive. Appropriate introductions are important for setting him up for success. Ares was said to love cuddling and also enjoys having hard plastic toys (squeakers do not stand a chance)! If you are interested in meeting Ares, please let us know! December 10, 2025, 12:09 am

Story
Sweetpea (A139797) is an 1-year-2-month-old Labradoodle x Husky mix who weighed 46.6 pounds on intake. 12/05/25 Miss Sweetpea is back at the shelter after her most recent owner suffered an inury that prevented them from being able to properly care for Sweetpea. Sweetpea is a very high energy dog that still needs some help with her manners and basic training. She is very food motivated, so enrolling her in a basic obedience class with a certified trainer would be a great place to start! Sweetpea was said to do well with the other extra large dog in her most recent home. She can be shy around strangers, but she is very loving once comfortable! Sweetpea needs some help fine tuning her potty training and also needs a patient and consistent home that can help her feel comfortable in a kennel again. If you think you are that special home for Sweetpea, give us a call!Foster update: Sweetpea was a delight in foster! She still has a few naughty tendencies and will steal human food if given the opportunity. Sweetpea was also noted to become a bit too rambunctious around the children in the home when they were running and playing. If you have children in the home; this is something to keep in mind. Please read her profile below for more information on how she behaved in her original home setting.09/25/25 This talkative lady is Sweetpea! Sweetpea was surrendered to the shelter after having an unplanned litter of puppies. Her puppies are now weaned, and she is looking for her new place to call home. Sweetpea was described as a shy but friendly dog that warms up quickly and is motivated by treats! She was said to do well with babies, children, and women but is timid of new people and may bark. Sweetpea was stated to be kennel-trained but is not fully housebroken. She knows the command but is still working on her basic obedience and would benefit from attending a basic obedience class with a certified trainer to build her confidence. Sweetpea does have a few puppy tendencies like digging, chewing, jumping on people, and getting into the trash. She is looking for a patient owner who will continue to work with her. If you are interested in meeting Miss Sweetpea, please let us know! December 13, 2025, 12:07 am

Story
Scrappy Doo (A140606) is a 4-year-old pittie who weighed over 60 lbs at intake!12/13/25 This handsome and goofy boy is Scrappy Doo! Scrappy is the definition of happy; he has never had a bad day in his life! Scrappy is said to do well with humans of all ages, even babies! He also loves other dogs, but he can play really rough. He and his brother form another mother, Yeti the malamute, would play so rough that they would unintentionally hurt themselves. It is very important that potential adopters keep this in mind and educate themselves on what healthy play looks like. If you have another dog, make sure their play style matches Scrappy's and monitor that they are allowing each other to take natural breaks in their play. Fear Free Pets has a lot of great resources on proper dog introductions and body language. Scrappy Doo was said to ride well in the car and generally was described as an outgoing, friendly and snuggly guy. He has been known to jump on people and dig, so he may need some help with his manners. If you are looking for an endless bundle of joy and entertainment, give us a call and ask about Scrappy Doo!December 15, 2025, 8:52 pm

Story
Tina (A140607) is an 8-month-old Great Pyrenees who weighed almost 60 lbs at intake!12/13/25 This sweet but shy girl is Tina! Tina is very shy and is looking for a patient home that will give her the time and space she needs to become comfortable. She has some typical puppy habits, like getting into the trash and chewing and digging. She prefers the company of other dogs to that of humans. She was said to do well with cats. Tina is a typical example of her breed. She would do best in a home with someone who understands livestock guardian dogs. She will likely warm up once comfortable. If you are interested in meeting Shadow, please let us know! 01/31/24 This big loving goofball is Shadow! He was even said to do well with the cats in the home. Please ensure you are doing appropriate introductions with all new animals. Shadow is a large dog and other animals might not always appreciate his enthusiasm. Shadow was said to be kennel trained, housebroken, rides well in a car, and knows a variety of commands.
