Story
Yentna is the kind of dog who brings both joy and energy wherever she goes—a lovable, affectionate girl with a big heart and an even bigger love for being part of the family! Described as a true sweetheart, Yentna has lived comfortably indoors and is already familiar with home life, including letting her people know when she needs to go outside and settling nicely when confined to a room or crate. She’s a smart girl, too! Yentna already knows an impressive list of cues including sit, stay, down, come, leave it, drop, okay, quiet, and even “treat”. She enjoys having things to do and would likely love a home that keeps her mind engaged and gives her chances to show off all she knows. When it comes to playtime, tennis balls are at the top of her favorites list, along with chew toys she can happily entertain herself with. She’s playful, friendly, and affectionate, and clearly enjoys both activity and closeness with her people. Yentna handles touch well, enjoys being included in everyday life (yes, furniture privileges included!) She does well with men, women, children, and other dogs, making her a lovely candidate for many types of homes. Of course, we do encourage slow and thoughtful introductions. After being returned due to conflict with another dog in the home; the original dog was not a fan or sharing his space and tried injuring Yentna. Yentna is ready for a fresh start and a family who will give this bright, loving girl the stability and affection she deserves!

Story
Sprocket is a 2 yr old male Golden Doodle mixed with a Wire-haired Pointing Griffon. My husband and I have had him since he was a puppy. He is house trained and crate trained. He’s a super sweet dog, very social and affectionate and he loves everyone. He also has quite the nose for sniffing out grouse and we have hunted with him successfully. It is difficult to part with him, but we are looking for a new home for Sprocket due to allergies and medical issues with our child, and changes to work/family schedules. Sprocket does well with children and other dogs, and he has been exposed to cats as a puppy and did well with them at the time. He loves to chew on bones and play fetch, and he also loves snuggling on the couch and just being close to people at all times. He is a large dog and weighs 80 pounds. He is up to date on all shots and has been neutered. He would make a fantastic family dog or a close companion to anyone looking for a canine friend.

Story
Amora is a sweet, wiggly girl who has truly blossomed during her time with us, and has continuously shown how resilient and amazing she is. She’s typically a mellow gal who loves gentle pets, cozy beds, soft snuggles, and being close to her people—but every now and then she gets a sparkle in her eye and breaks into playful zoomies or a fun game with her favorite toys! Amora is a big fan of balls, squeaky toys, enrichment activities, and she especially enjoys a good butt scratch or neck rub. She also loves car rides and, unlike many dogs, is a huge fan of bath time. While she enjoys relaxing and lounging, regular exercise and positive outlets for her energy will help keep her happy and balanced. Amora is incredibly sweet and enjoys spending time with people, though she can be shy at first with new faces and may take a little extra time warming up to men. Once she feels comfortable and finds her person, she becomes deeply attached and loves staying close by. She can also become sensitive if she thinks she is in trouble, so she’ll thrive with a gentle, patient adopter who helps continue building her confidence. She walks beautifully on leash most of the time, with the occasional joyful burst of excitement when the mood strikes. Amora does very well in a home environment. She appears potty trained, did great asking to go outside when needed, and reportedly had no accidents when left alone for 4–8 hours. She also does not destroy household items when left to her own devices, which is always a bonus! While Amora has shown friendly behavior in most dog introductions, she was returned because she played too rough with the other dog in the home and her family did not have the experience to ensure a safe environment for all animals. She does enjoy her own space and routine too. Her play style was also overwhelming to the cats in the home and Amora proved to be interested in chasing kitties if given the chance. Amora has been such a joy to get to know, and we know the right family is going to fall in love with her sweet heart, silly wiggles, and loving personality just like we have.

Story
Tika is a sweet, affectionate girl who forms strong bonds with her people and clearly loves being close to those she trusts. She enjoys having the freedom to lounge around the house, spend time near her favorite humans, and soak up attention whenever it’s offered. Tika has been used to free-roaming in the home, having access to a doggie door, and being part of everyday family life—including relaxing on the furniture like one of the family. Tika can be a little cautious when meeting new people and may bark or act unsure for the first few minutes, especially when visitors enter the home, but once she has time to settle and understand that she’s safe, she warms up nicely. She seems to prefer a gentle approach and would likely do best with adopters who allow her time to build trust at her own pace. She especially seems to enjoy female companionship, though she has done well with men and children as well. She just might need a little more time to get to know them! She is playful, friendly, and very devoted to her people—so devoted, in fact, that she can become anxious when left alone and may busy herself by knocking reachable items around or chewing on her toys. Because of this, Tika may benefit from a home that can continue helping her build confidence when alone and provide her with structure and enrichment. Crate training could be beneficial for both her and her new family. She did not live with other dogs in her adoptive home but regularly visited by a small dog. Tika and the small dog had an altercation when a care giver decided to feed them together. Tika did not appreciate this and prefers to eat separately from other dogs. Though this is understandable, introductions should be done with care and adopters should be mindful of this. This was the one and only issue we have been informed of. Overall, Tika has done well with other dogs and has a friendly demeanor in shelter! Tika is looking for a patient, understanding home that sees her potential and is ready to help her continue learning. With a little guidance, consistency, and love, this loyal girl has all the makings of a truly wonderful companion.

Story
Ruger is a young, spirited boy with a big personality, a busy mind, and so much potential just waiting for the right person to help guide him. Like many young dogs, Ruger is still learning how to navigate the world around him, and while he can be bouncy, unruly, and a little impulsive at times, beneath all that energy is a dog who is truly searching for stability, patience, and someone willing to invest in the dog he is becoming. Ruger is potty trained and will bark at the door when he needs to go outside, though like any dog adjusting to a new environment, he will need time to learn the routine of his new home. He is not currently crate trained and, when left to his own devices, his curious puppy thoughts can sometimes get the best of him. Crate training would be a wonderful tool for Ruger—not only to help keep him safe and successful when alone, but also to provide him with a secure space of his own. He already knows several cues including sit, down, treat, and fetch, and he’s eager to engage—though patience is still very much a work in progress. If snacks are not delivered quickly enough, Ruger is happy to voice his opinion! His ideal home will understand that training for Ruger needs to continue in a positive, structured way, with consistency and clear expectations. Ruger is an active dog who needs both physical exercise and mental enrichment to truly thrive. Balls and tug toys are his favorites, and having healthy outlets for his energy will be essential in helping him succeed! Tug sessions, training games, and purposeful activity will go a long way in building his confidence and focus. While Ruger can come on strong at first, much of that intensity comes from uncertainty. He can be nervous around new people and needs time to get to know someone before fully relaxing. Because he has not yet learned the best ways to express himself when unsure, we believe Ruger would do best with an experienced dog handler who can move at his pace, and help him continue building confidence. And for all his energy, Ruger absolutely has a softer side too—after a full day, one of his favorite things is settling in close for snuggles and quiet time. Though he is said to do well with children, his enthusiasm may be too overwhelming for small kids. Ruger does not have known experience with other animals, so slow, thoughtful introductions will be important. We strongly encourage dog meet-and-greets for any potential canine housemates. We’ll be honest: Ruger needs support. He
