Story
Considering adopting? The first step is to complete our online Adoption Application at http://forgetmenotshelter.org/Application Please do not call the shelter; do the application first. Sunny, a Border Collie mix, was born 11/6/22 and weighs 50 lbs. This lovely lady has been having a hard time finding the right home. We just know there is the right person out there who has been waiting for her. Sunny is slow to trust strangers, but once she does she really loves her people. She is very finicky about who she likes. She needs a confident family, as she is sensitive to her peoples' emotions and nervousness/anxiety transmit to her very easily, making her nervous and anxious. She'd love a home filled with "hakuna matata." Sunny loves to go for walks on trails, by the lake, or even just run around in her fenced yard. She is not a fan of crowded streets, lots of people or cars (which she wants to chase, eeek). Sunny is quick to learn and very motivated by praise. She can sit, lie down, roll over, and wait. She rides well in the car, is happily kennel trained, is house broken and walks pretty well on a leash. The ideal home for Sunny would not include small children, other pets or busy city streets. She would do well with a seasoned dog owner who is willing to continue training and socializing. All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee for long-term resident Sunny is WAIVED (optional donation gratefully accepted). All pets are placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to discover any unknown allergies or other conflicts. Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! We have monthly transports to the Seattle area, delivering adopted pets to their new owners. If you can add a little to your donation to help us cover our volunteer driver's expenses, that would be great!

Story
Considering adopting? The first step is to complete our online Adoption Application at http://forgetmenotshelter.org/Application Please do not call the shelter; do the application first. Lucy, a border collie mix, was born 11/6/22 and weighs about 50 lbs. Lucy was returned to the shelter after her original adopters sadly determined she just wasn't the right fit for them, nor they for Lucy. This sleek bodied girl is full of energy and would love a home with an active family who would like to take her hiking or on other outdoor adventures. Lucy has spent a lot of her life in the shelter so she will need an experienced dog owner to teach her the rules of her new home. She does very well with her routine here and we believe she will adapt well in a patient home that could also provide her with a routine to follow. She has a touch of "stranger danger" but warms up quickly. Lucy gets along with most other dogs but we believe she would do best as an only dog in the home, with friends outside of the home to play with. She is not such a fan of cats. She is kennel trained, potty trained, and has learned commands such as sit and wait. We do not recommend children for this high energy girl. Lucy is a busy girl with high intelligence. We just know the right family is out there waiting for her! All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee for long-time resident Lucy is WAIVED (optional donation gratefully accepted). All pets are placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to discover any unknown allergies or other conflicts. Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! Charlie's family moved to a new home. Unfortunately, the new landlord has a size limit on pets. Charlie is a playful dog. He enjoys runs and wants to play with other dogs. He is very friendly to humans. He is very open to training. Charlie listens well and is easily redirected. Charlie will need a strong handler until he is able to learn to be gentle on a lead. He gives up toys easily when asked. Charlie stays calm inside a kennel.

Meet Oscar, this majestic boy is ready to take over your heart and home. With a mane as fluffy as a lion's and a regal presence that commands attention, Oscar is sure to turn heads wherever he goes. This boy came to us with his sister Daisy, and while they enjoy each other's company, Oscar would also be willing to part ways and set off on his own adventure. While Oscar has mastered the art of looking handsome, he could use a little help with leash manners and tends to pull when excited. However, with some patience and consistent training, he's eager to learn and improve. Come meet this magnificent boy and embark on a wild adventure filled with love and companionship. Story
Meet JD, a 10-month-old Kengal dog mix with a heart as big as his paws. JD hails from a rural property where he lived harmoniously among a variety of animals, including dogs, cats, and even pigs. He arrived at our shelter alongside his brother Jasper - the two are great friends! JD may initially appear shy, but with time and patience, he reveals his gentle and affectionate nature. He would thrive in a home with an experienced guardian who can provide the understanding and support he needs to blossom. Positive reinforcement training and the guidance of an AnimalKind certified trainer would further aid JD in reaching his full potential. If you're ready to open your heart and home to JD (and possibly Jasper), please submit an application today! Primary Color: Black Brindle Secondary Color: White Weight: 30.6 Age: 0yrs 10mths 3wks
