Story
This sweet girl was brought to us as a stray so not much is known about her past. What we do know is Chance is ready to trade her days roaming and settle down into her forever family! She enjoys having doggy friends but is a bit selective with who she wants to hang with. She would be happy as the only pet or with an easy-going canine housemate. Chance has let us know she would not be able to share her home with cats or small dogs. Chance does struggle with a bit of separation anxiety and is looking for a patient adopter that can provide her a consistent routine to help her feel safe. Chance is an absolute gem, she enjoys soaking in the affection and lounging on a cozy couch catching up on her favorite shows. If Chance feels like the right fit, fill out an application today! Story
Meet Birdie - a little soul with a big heart who's ready to trade the uncertainty of her past for the comfort of a forever home.Birdie was found alone in the woods with no known history, but despite her rough start, she has blossomed into one of the sweetest, most affectionate companions you could hope for. This gentle 8‑year‑old cuddlebug has spent time in foster care, where she's shown just how special she truly is. She's resilient, loving, and so eager to finally feel safe.🌟 Personality- Walk enthusiast: Birdie lights up the moment she knows it's time for a stroll. She enjoys exploring at her own pace and isn't bothered by traffic or everyday noises.- Couch potato at heart: After her adventures, she's all about curling up beside you-or right on top of you-for long, peaceful naps.- Champion snuggler: Belly rubs and couch cuddles are her love language.- A talker: She "chats" in soft grumbles and playful little sounds that make her personality shine.- Calm and easygoing: She doesn't shed (much), hasn't shown us any signs of resource guarding, and loves stuffies and Kong toys.- Dog‑selective: She may bark at other dogs on walks, but she's easily redirected with treats. What a smart lady!💛 What She's Looking ForBirdie would thrive in a calm, loving home where she can enjoy a balance of outdoor time and indoor relaxation. She doesn't need a highly active lifestyle-just a few short walks a day and plenty of cuddle time. She does experience some separation anxiety, but with patience, consistency, and a predictable routine, she's already showing progress. If you're looking for a low‑key best friend who will walk with you, nap with you, "talk" to you, and fill your home with warmth, Birdie might just be your perfect match Primary Color: Black Weight: 38.7 Age: 6yrs 2mths 1wks

Not good with kids, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Chi Chi is a sweet, sensitive girl who has endured far more than any dog ever should. She came from a situation with many other dogs and carries the scars - both physical and emotional - of having had to fend for herself. Because of this, Chi Chi has made it very clear during her time in shelter that she much prefers the comfort of calm, trustworthy people over the company of other dogs. She is not suited for dog parks or dog‑to‑dog play, and she will truly thrive as the only pet in her new home, where she can finally feel safe and be the center of someone's world.Despite her difficult past, Chi Chi's gentle spirit shines through every day. She loves to cuddle, loves being close to her people, and has a soft, affectionate soul that reveals itself the moment she feels safe. The world is still new to her - many everyday experiences are unfamiliar and can feel overwhelming - but with patience, understanding, and a trauma‑informed approach, she continues to blossom.Chi Chi is looking for a calm, quiet home with an experienced adopter - someone familiar with under‑socialized or fearful dogs who can help guide her through house training, leash skills, and building confidence at her own pace. What she needs most is a family willing to celebrate small victories, offer steady reassurance, and give her the stability she's never had.In return, Chi Chi will offer quiet loyalty, gentle affection, and the deeply rewarding experience of watching a deserving dog learn what it means to feel safe and loved. If you're ready to change a life - and let Chi Chi change yours - she's ready to meet you Primary Color: Red Brown Weight: 28 Age: 5yrs 1mths 3wks

Not good with kids,
Story
Sasha is a gentle soul who recently arrived in Penticton through the Drive for Lives program. She's spent her life living outdoors and hasn't yet had the chance to enjoy the cozy comforts most dogs take for granted. Because of this, the world can feel a little overwhelming, and Sasha is understandably wary of new people. With patience, kindness, and the support of an AnimalKind trainer, she has every chance to grow into a more confident companion. Sasha has lived with both dogs and cats before and may be able to share her home with respectful furry friends. She thrives with long walks, mental enrichment, and a calm environment where she can learn at her own pace. Sasha is ready for a family who will show her what it means to feel safe, loved, and truly at home. Primary Color: Tri Color Weight: 19 Age: 3yrs 0mths 2wks

Story
Meet Angelica! This sweet lady came into our care through no fault of her own when her previous family was unable to give her the time and attention she needed. In her former home, Angelica lived a bit of a farm‑dog lifestyle-she's used to sharing space with chickens, goats, and other livestock. Because she had never really left the farm before, new places and unfamiliar people can feel quite scary for her. Luckily, Angelica is extremely food‑motivated, so with a few tasty treats and a little patience, she'll quickly decide you're her new best friend.Angelica is looking for a calm, quiet home with an experienced adopter-someone familiar with under‑socialized or fearful dogs who can help guide her through learning leash skills and building confidence at her own pace. She would be best suited to a peaceful home with plenty of room to run, or an active, outdoorsy family that enjoys hiking in quiet, low‑traffic areas, where she can comfortably get the exercise she needs without feeling overwhelmed.More than anything, Angelica needs a family willing to celebrate small victories, offer steady reassurance, and give her the stability she's never had. Angelica is awaiting a spay surgery next week, but is available today as Foster-to-Adopt.Walk-ins are prioritized. We are open to walk in's Tuesday - Saturday 12 pm -4 pm (except for Stat Holidays). In order to prepare for your visit, you can submit a Pre-Adoption Questionnaire as well at:https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/dog-pre-adoption-questionnaire/ Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 39.06 Age: 1yrs 0mths 2wks
