Ready to adopt? Start by filling out an application at tailsofrescue.org or click the Adoption button below—this is the first step to learn more about our animals and for us to get to know you. Since not all of our pets come into the store each day, adoption meet-and-greets are scheduled by appointment. Meet Rock Gecko  This six-month-old mixed pup is as handsome as his name is cool! With his naturally docked tail and those Boxer looks, Rock Gecko is part of our Gecko family — related to many of the other white and brown pups you’ve seen in our photos.   He takes about ten minutes to warm up, but once he does, he’s all in — affectionate, loyal, and full of heart. His house training is going great, and he loves heading outside in “pack mode.” We’re still working on leash manners, as the leash is a little scary for him right now, but he’s learning with patience and trust. Rock Gecko would do best with another dog friend and hasn’t been exposed to small children, cats, or livestock. This sweet boy is ready for his forever home — one that matches his gentle spirit and helps him continue to grow in confidence.    #AdoptDontShop #RescueDog #TORinKahoots #AdoptRockGecko #BoxerMix #RescueLife #FosterDog #GeckoPups #DogsofInstagram Spayed/Neuiterd, micro chipped, heartworm negative (if of age), dhpp shots, kennel cough vacs., and one year rabies is completed.  Adoption fee is $300  We are NOT a first-come-first to adopt a rescue, the best fit for the family and dog is the way we do things.  We do out of town adoptions often, but will not ship animals must come to Redding for pick up.   ##2533914##

Story
If you are seriously interested in an animal, we ask that you first fill out an application, tailsofrescue.org  This will be the first step to gaining more information about the animal as well as allow us to know a little bit about you.  Not all dogs come into the store each day so please start with an application.   Meet Gecko  Gecko’s story is one of survival, love, and second chances. This brave mama was live-trapped after she kept sneaking into a chicken coop for fresh dinners — and just a week after arriving at the shelter, she gave birth to nine beautiful puppies in April 2025.    We don’t know much about her past, but we do know this: Gecko is incredibly loyal once she trusts you. She’s slow to warm up at first, but once she’s yours, she’s all in. She enjoys going for walks, rides calmly in the car, and is house trained when she goes out with other dogs.   Gecko weighs about 37 pounds and would do best in a calm, understanding home — one without small children, cats, or livestock. She might need a couple of visits to get comfortable, but when she opens her heart, she’ll give it fully.    If you’re looking for a devoted companion who just needs a little patience and a lot of love, Gecko could be your girl.   #AdoptDontShop #RescueDog #TORinKahoots #AdoptGecko #RescueLife #FosterDog #DogsofInstagram #GeckoAndHerPups Spayed/Neuiterd, micro chipped, heartworm negative (if of age), dhpp shots, kennel cough vacs., and one year rabies is completed.  Adoption fee is $200.00  We are NOT a first-come-first to adopt a rescue, the best fit for the family and dog is the way we do things.  We do out of town adoptions often, but will not ship animals must come to Redding for pick up.   ##2457585##
