Since not all of our pets come into the store each day, adoption meet-and-greets are scheduled by appointment. Meet Rock Gecko  This six-month-old mixed pup is as handsome as his name is cool! With his naturally docked tail and those Boxer looks, Rock Gecko is part of our Gecko family — related to many of the other white and brown pups you’ve seen in our photos.   He takes about ten minutes to warm up, but once he does, he’s all in — affectionate, loyal, and full of heart. His house training is going great, and he loves heading outside in “pack mode.” We’re still working on leash manners, as the leash is a little scary for him right now, but he’s learning with patience and trust. Rock Gecko would do best with another dog friend and hasn’t been exposed to small children, cats, or livestock. This sweet boy is ready for his forever home — one that matches his gentle spirit and helps him continue to grow in confidence.    #AdoptDontShop #RescueDog #TORinKahoots #AdoptRockGecko #BoxerMix #RescueLife #FosterDog #GeckoPups #DogsofInstagram Spayed/Neuiterd, micro chipped, heartworm negative (if of age), dhpp shots, kennel cough vacs., and one year rabies is completed.  Adoption fee is $300  We are NOT a first-come-first to adopt a rescue, the best fit for the family and dog is the way we do things.  We do out of town adoptions often, but will not ship animals must come to Redding for pick up.   ##2533914##

Story
Ruger is a Queensland healer(Red). I absolutely love him to death. He is a very smart as well as high energy dog. I stimulate him with tennis ball retrieval as well as he will run with me. He is the most controllable dog I’ve ever had. I rarely have to have him on a leash. Because of the nature of this breed, he will occasionally nip at people usually not me although when he wants to play, he will grab the back of my ankle with his mouth and put his paw around the front of my foot, not biting, but in a playful way. These dogs are known for being a one person or one family dog. When traveling and I have to board him, it is usually not favorable for him. He usually is restless and anxious and does not eat well until I pick him up. This would not be a good family dog, but more likely a working dog with somebody that knew how to work with him. I think that if I did not have to travel out of town, I would more than likely keep him. For me, he’s a fun dog. Praying for a good home. God bless
