Story
Meet Rambo, our rescued Doberman Pinscher. He came to The Cat House in need of immediate medical attention.  After he went to visit the veterinarian, we learned that he was born with a malformation in his genital area. The vet did a wonderful job at fixing his issue. Cosmetically he looks different, but he's able to take care of his necessities.  Rambo enjoys being around his people and the resident dogs.  He's learned how to walk on a leash, house broken, and crate trained. Rambo is neutered, and he's current on his vaccines. This BIG guy currently weighs about 90 lbs, with lots of energy and  still growing.  This breed is very smart and Rambo has lots of potential with the right home. He enjoys his daily walks and his favorite people. Please apply today he won't last long. Please note: The adoption fee for Rambo is $300 (not subject to any discount or special offer).More information & application [ts=1767600050&src=aap]

Story
Urgent Rehome ASAP and will have to surrender to spca-please contact me-I can’t keep him indoors as much as I’d love . Chevy is a 6 year old neutered male Staffordshire who is up to date on all shots. My daughter is highly allergic and we can’t tend to him as he needs. Chevy needs 1:1 companionship as he gets lonely easily. Chevy is not good with cats and not very socialized with other dogs. He does very well on walks (esp with a harness), knows basic commands, sleeps well in a crate and physically healthy. He will chew any wood fence if alone for periods of time outside and we have had to fix ours several times even with him being on a runner. He prefers to be inside. Chevy would benefit from more training but overall does pretty well and mellows out once you let him get his wiggles out. Who would he be best for? Likely an adult(s), or families with older children/teens, veterans, post incarcerated, or someone wanting a loyal 1:1 buddy & knows Staffordshire’s.

Story
Can't decide between a Shepherd or a Cattle dog? Meet Freyja, a Cattle dog in a petite Shepherd suit. The perfect combo of loyal and smart from both breeds. Cattle dog experience is a plus! Freyja came to us as a mama. She was a calm, patient and affectionate mama to her 9 babies. Once her babies weaned we could see her personality shine more. She engaged in play and keep away with them, often stealing their toys to get them to chase her. She is about 50 lbs now that she has filled out after fully weaning her babies. She has put on muscle and is really a beauty. She is an affectionate dog who is very brave and she's always curious about what's going on around her. She can be a bit protective at times but will listen to correction. She will need someone who can continue to guide her into the fabulous dog she is becoming. Most of our rescues have had a hard life and need help and guidance to learn good behavior. We think Freyja is the perfect candidate, she looks up to her person for direction. She can also be a total goofball who loves to make her humans laugh. She loves to play with toys, and she's an expert at giving her paw. When first in her foster home Freya had prey drive interest in cats and wanted to chase. With strict supervision she is learning to be more trustworthy around cats. If you're ready for a new best friend who loves to cuddle after burning off some energy, then Freyja is the pup for you! Freyja is being fostered in Hollister. Please reach out to schedule to meet Freyja or to find out when she will be attending the adoption event on Saturdays at PetSmart Almaden Expressway in San Jose. September 10, 2025, 4:58 pm

Story
For those of you who don’t remember Syd, she is the pit mix puppy who was attacked by another dog, spent time at @kingsburgvet and surrendered to PC. Syd has had a long recovery time, besides the initial injuries from the attack she had difficulty breathing. Our wonderful vet partner @kingsburgvet did various testing, x-rays, bloodwork, & cultures. While they were able to eliminate some disease concerns, we never were able to pin down the exact issue. Syd has a crazy overbite and still snorts when she breathes so it may be possible that her anatomy also contributed to some of her early breathing issues. The vet along with her foster mom provided Syd with supportive care to help get her thru the worst of her issues. It was touch and go for awhile and not being able to figure out a definitive answer was frustrating for everyone but we are just glad that she is doing better now and growing into such a good girl. Syd has been raised in a home with dogs of all sizes and temperaments and gets along with everyone. She is crate trained, housebroken, very treat motivated and is lower to medium energy level. She has completed her puppy vaccine series, microchipped, flea tick treated, dewormed, received her rabies vaccine and spayed. If you would like to be considered for the adoption of a dog or puppy, please follow the steps below and submit an application through our independent process (Petfinder “matchmaking” emails are not part of our process and we are unable to respond to them). If you have questions you must reach out to us as we do not have the capacity to individually contact all applicants. You may call 559-393-1946 between 6PM and 9PM if you have additional questions AFTER SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION. We hold adoption events at Petsmart San Jose every Saturday starting at 11am, and most of our adoptable dogs can be met by appointment at these events. Copy and paste the link below to submit a pre-screen application for the dog of interest, or find the link on our website www.pawsitiveconnections.org. Due to the overwhelming amount of interest our dogs receive, we unfortunately will not be able to reach out to all applicants who apply. If you do not receive correspondence from us, it is likely a reflection of the amount of applications we received. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScGSOxbGTIIintrGXUi8H-ddLv41aA0XUbELmNi0YhUIWQHRA/viewform /Adoption fee will include spayneuter, microchip, rabies vaccine (dependent on age), bordatella vaccine, parvodistemper vaccine (1-4 depending on age of dog), dewormer (2-4), monthly nexgard for flea and tick treatment./November 4, 2024, 3:45 pm
