M - 3 years old - Pit Bull Mix - Odie is a big dopey boy who loves to play with his favorite cat-shaped stuffy! He's a very happy boy with lots of energy. He is going to need some obedience training in order to reduce his tendency to jump up on you and chomp on his leash. Because of this, he is not suitable for households with young kids or the elderly. But is taking well to training, and continued training will be beneficial to help with some of his anxiety and boredom. He has done well with other dogs, and he has been in playgroups. Initially he was a rough and rowdy playstyle, but is now learning to take some breaks and be satisfied with laying in the grass together with the occasional rolling around in the grass pawing each other. But when he's overstimulated by other dogs and lots of people, he needs some quiet time to recharge. ADOPT To adopt, come see us! He’s all about the fun and brings a playful, happy energy wherever he goes. Beneath all that strength is a big, lovable softie. He absolutely melts for attention and loves being pet, leaning into affection and soaking it all up. He’s the kind of dog who might look tough on the outside, but is all heart on the inside. Story

I don’t know what happened to her before I got her, but she has a lot of fear and anxiety. When I first started caring for her, she made great progress, especially when gently socializing with other dogs. Having another calm dog around really helped her confidence. She has never been aggressive—she may bark at unfamiliar people, but it’s always from fear. Loud noises also make her shake. Because of recent health and family issues, I can’t give her the stable, quiet home she needs, and her anxiety has gotten worse. She has all her shots and takes a monthly flea pill. She recently became so stressed that she stopped eating and drinking consistently, and pushing her seemed to make it worse. I believe her struggles are environmental, not medical. She is a very sweet, gentle dog who wants to feel safe. I’m hoping to find a patient home, ideally with another friendly dog, where she can rebuild her confidence and enjoy life again.

M - 5 years old - Shepherd Mix - Arlo is a very sweet boy who has a kind heart. He is a loyal boy, with his eyes always on you waiting for his next command. When he gets a playful streak, he loves playing with jumbo tennis balls and will fetch them like the good boy he is! A play session isn't complete until he gets some belly rubs, which are his favorite! He does very well with other dogs so long as they aren't too hyper and in his space. He does get protective of his people, and will defend his territory, so ensuring that he gets proper introductions and socialization with people and guests in the home is essential. He also gets overstimulated by kids, and their fast, unpredictable movements kick his chase instinct into hyperdrive. But with proper training and a calm home, this boy is sure to be a loyal friend.
