Story
Meet Bruno! He’s a lovable, playful guy with an infectious smile and a heart full of joy. At 65lbs, Bruno isn’t exactly a lap dog though he wishes he could be! He definitely loves to shower his humans with affection. Bruno is friendly with everyone he meets and never a stranger to anyone. We think he’d do best as the only dog in the home. With slow and proper introductions, Bruno can make new friends with other dogs that are willing to join in on the fun. Bruno has the most adorable face with one ear that stands up and the other that flops—how cute is that? He’s a big fan of treats, toys, and frozen goodies to help him stay cool. While he loves to run after thrown objects, he’s still figuring out the whole “fetching” thing. Bruno walks well on a leash but needs more practice with not pulling since his current foster home has a nice fenced yard where he spends most of his time. He’s house trained and crate trained, and when left loose in the house, he behaves himself like a good boy. Bruno would thrive in a home with kids aged 10 and older due to his exuberance and his not-so-small size. His favorite spot to relax? The couch! Bruno loves sprawling out on the sectional, though he’s always happy to make room for his people. He’s also a big fan of giving sweet kisses and cuddles to show his love. Bruno is so ready to meet his furever family, and his adoption fee has been partially sponsored, with $300 of the fee covered, so now's the perfect time to make him part of your family. Ready to make Bruno’s dreams come true? Apply for adoption today at www.underhoundrailroad.org! Bruno is currently fostered in South Carolina but can be transported along the East Coast to his new family, as far North as Maine. Don’t miss out on this happy boy who’s excited to share his love and energy with you! December 21, 2025, 2:14 pm

Story
Chief is a charming and handsome 5 year old with a sweet bully face, a heart full of love, and a personality that wins everyone over, especially the ladies! This loyal guy is all about his people and thrives when included in daily life, whether you're hanging out at home, heading out for a walk, or running errands together. Chief isn’t overly active, but he lives for his daily walks. They’re his favorite part of the day! He makes the perfect walking companion and enjoys strolling around campus with his foster mom, exploring the neighborhood, and visiting local parks. He currently accompanies his foster mom to work, loves morning puppuccino runs, and looks forward to every stroll.  He’s also a great car buddy. He jumps right in with no hesitation, settles quickly in the back seat, and usually lounges out, taking up all the room like a king on his throne. Whether it’s a short trip or a longer ride, Chief’s calm and relaxed nature makes traveling with him a breeze. Chief is crate and potty trained, sleeps soundly through the night in his big dog bed, and listens like a pro when called. Chief knows basic commands like “sit” and “crate” and is actively learning more every day! He’s food and praise motivated, making training a fun bonding experience. He also enjoys enrichment activities and treat puzzles. A stuffed Kong, he considers the ultimate treat. Chief does well living with medium to low energy dogs, including small breeds and seniors. While he’s not one to roughhouse or initiate play with other pups, he’s a respectful housemate and would do well with other easy-going housemates.  Affectionate and friendly, Chief would do best in a home with adults or older kids (teens+), simply because of his size (50lbs) and goofy energy. He’s a great match for someone who wants a devoted companion by their side through thick and thin  and doesn’t mind some snuggles along the way. If you're looking for a loyal companion with a big heart and an even bigger personality,  Chief  could be your perfect match! Chief  is currently being fostered in North Carolina and can be transported along the East Coast as far north as Maine to his adoptive home.  Ready to make  Chief  a part of your life? Apply to adopt him here: https://underhoundrailroad.org/adoption-application/  Want to follow his adventures? Story
Looking for a loyal, loving sidekick with just the right mix of play and snuggles? Meet Tinkerbell! Tinkerbell is a 5 year old pittie with a sleek black coat, bright eyes, and a heart full of love. She’s the perfect balance of playful and calm. Just as happy zooming around the yard as she is curled up next to you for some well earned cuddle time. She’s got a playful streak that will make you smile every day. Whether she’s tossing a ball around by herself or chasing the water hose with joy and determination, Tinkerbell knows how to have fun! Indoors, she’s incredibly affectionate and sweet. She lives for couch cuddles and quality time with her people. Tinkerbell has received ongoing professional training and is thriving with structure and routine. Her trainer describes her as “soft," meaning she’s sensitive, connected, and eager to please. She’s also learning how to feel confident and calm in her surroundings, and she takes direction beautifully from people she trusts. She’s crate trained, house trained, and walks nicely on leash. She enjoys enrichment toys (especially Kongs with yogurt or peanut butter), and her dream day includes a walk, some playtime, and curling up with her favorite human at the end of it. Tinkerbell enjoys meeting new people and has done well with respectful children. She would love a home where she can continue to feel safe and supported.  A home where she can be your one-and-only or share the space with a calm, easygoing dog who understands personal space. With slow, thoughtful introductions, she’s shown she can happily coexist and feel at ease. Tinkerbell’s story is one of resilience and love. She spent 8 months as a stray before trusting someone enough to accept help—right after giving birth under a shed. Since her rescue, she’s blossomed in foster care and is now fully ready to find her furever home. Her adoption fee is partially sponsored ($150 already covered!), and she’s ready to start her next chapter. Tinkerbell is currently fostered in North Carolina and can be transported to an approved adopter along the East Coast, as far north as Maine. If you’re ready to welcome a loyal, affectionate, and playful companion into your life, Tinkerbell is ready to meet you! Elle is an 8 year old Lab mix with boba eyes and a heart full of syrupy sweet love! Like your favorite cup of bubble tea, she’s comforting, a little squishy, and full of joy in every snuggle. Her big, round eyes? Think soft tapioca pearls—soulful, sweet, and totally irresistible. Elle is currently being fostered in North Carolina, but she can be transported straight into your arms and heart!  Elle is great with other dogs but would also thrive as your one and only cuddle buddy. Hagen Breed: Australian Cattle Dog Mix Age: 2y+/-, Male Weight: 45 pds Medical: UTD on all vaccines, Neutered, microchipped Cat Friendly: No Dog Friendly: Yes; but dog selective Kid Friendly: Unknown, Recommending Ages 12+ Crate Trained: Yes House Trained: Yes Location: Cape Cod, MA Hagen is a confident youngest for a cattle dog around new people. He is open to meeting both people and exploring new environments. His one negative is that he does like to bark, especially when he needs to go the bathroom or hears loud noises or other dogs going out. He is very playful, and recently started showing interest in toys and he LOVES to steal things when you’re not looking and run away with them (paper towel, broom, duster, etc). His name should be changed to Bandit, LOL! He is dog selective and is has some fear reactivity when leashed and/orconfined in crate but it’s very manageable. Hagen is a pup that still has a lot of learning to do as he came from a backyard breeder only to be dumped i

Story
Name: Attitash Breed: Catahoula Mix Age/Sex: 1 yrs old +/-, SF Weight: 30 lbs Medical: Up to Date and vaccinations, spayed, wormed, microchipped Cat Friendly: Yes Dog Friendly: Yes Kid Friendly: Older 10+ Crate Trained: Yes House Trained: Yes Location: New Hampshire Attitash (is named after a mountain/ski resort here in New Hampshire it is pronounced “At-a-tash”), is a very timid and shy girl who has taken some time to come out of her shell and comfort zone. She does tend to hide in the furthest corner of the room away from the door so that she can see what is happening in front of her. She is very curious about life and can be seen peeking around the corner to find out what is going on or happening in the next room. When she warms up to you, all she wants is love, attention and affection. You will know that she is comfortable with you once she rolls over onto her back so that you can rub her belly and that is when you will be able to see a patch of white fur on her chest in the shape of a heart! She only barks when she hears voices outside of the home or when a stranger walks in that she doesn't know and will retreat into another room until she is comfortable enough to come out. Attie loves her toys and will bring them all into the room that you are in and play. She loves deer antlers and Yak cheese sticks to chew on. She gets sudden bursts of the "zoomies" about twice a day and will run all over the house. She does get a little nervous when you try to put her leash on, but it quickly fades once it's on. She walks well on a leash and loves long walks! Attie is extremely food motivated! She knows how to catch treats, “sit” and “leave it”. She currently sleeps in a crate at night. Attie would do best in a quieter environment where there isn't a lot of constant loud noise because it does scare her. She is a very smart and spunky girl who wants nothing more in life than love! After your application is approved, the foster parent for the dog you have selected will contact you to answer any questions you may have and determine if that dog is a good match for your family. If you have no particular dog in mind, we will be happy to keep your application on file and notify you if the right dog should come into rescue. Catahoula Rescue of New England is an all-volunteer group. Dogs in our program are fostered by volunteers. The foster homes care for our dogs as if they were their own. All dogs have received vaccinations appropriate to age and are spayed or neutered. Attie’s adoption donation is $500 which includes Rabies, DHLPP, Bordetella, fecal test, heartworm test, is on preventative, microchip and Spay/Neuter depending on age at time of adoption. If the dog is too young for a spay/neuter, then they will be adopted with a spay/neuter contract and $100 deposit. We do not have a physical shelter; all our dogs are fostered in individual foster homes across the New England and Canada.
