Story
Jack (DOB: 9/21) was brought to the shelter 9/22, as an owner surrender, at 1 year old. He was hit by a vehicle and suffered injuries requiring surgery which his owner could not afford. He has long since recovered from his physical injuries and wants nothing more than to find a special home suited to his needs. He weighs 70 lbs. Jack knows the basic commands of sit and shake. He is eager to please and has decent focus, so if someone is willing to work with him, he could definitely make progress in this area. Jack is a powerful dog who tends to pull on his walks, so his leash manners are also a work in progress. Jack is wonderful with humans and really loves people. However, due to his strength and size, placement with smaller children would not be advised. Jack does not do well with other animals, so Jack would need to be the only animal in the home. In the shelter, Jack resides in a calm, controlled room with a TV and music, away from other dogs as a result of his reactivity to other dogs. He is walked alone and exercises in a play area without other dogs. His very special adopter would need previous experience with large breed dogs who can have tendencies to be extremely strong, energetic, resourceful, agile, and determined. The preferred adopter will need to reinforce consistent structure, develop his obedience skills, and socialize him in new environments and work on his reactivity to other dogs. The reason we adore this boy is that he will reel you in with his soft eyes and adorable jowly face. If you sit in his room for five minutes, he will snuggle up against you like he just can't get close enough. Bring him a treat, and watch his eyes get the size of half dollars while he slowly takes the treat as gentle as a lamb. He is extremely attached to his emotional support squeaky toy so more of those in his new home is a must. Jack is the kind of dog who will be intensely devoted to his family; a true velcro dog. Jack is vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. Jack has not been crate trained but only goes to the bathroom outside of his confined space. It's highly likely he could be house trained.

Story
Tank (DOB:1/22), was brought to the shelter most recently on 6/23 and weighs 91lbs. If you are looking for a dog that has been through a lot and welcomes all kinds of love, Tank may be your boy. He was brought to the shelter at 3 months old, after reportedly been shot, and was adopted out but bought back to the shelter nearly 1 year later for his high prey drive for cats and chickens, Tank is participating in the Wag 'n Train program learning basic obedience. He will need work on all other obedience training, including leash manners. He is a strong boy and pulls on his leash especially when excited. As with most dogs, he does better after he has had some exercise. Fortunately, he is very food/treat driven and is eager to please so he should do very well with additional training. He has been in our play group with some other dogs and has been fine with other dogs around. At two years old he doesn't play as much as some dogs but enjoys being out with other dogs. Tank is great with adults and quickly bonds to people. While he has been good with dogs at the shelter, careful introductions to another dog in the household will be required. No cats or chickens. He loves kids and has let children of all ages love on him at outdoor events, but due to his strength and size , it is recommended that his future home be adult only or an older children household. Tank has huge potential. He loves to ride in the car and travels great. He loves to be loved on and pet. He is really a "wanna be" lap dog in a big boy body. Tank would be a wonderful dog in just the right home. Tank's adopter needs to be fairly strong, be prepared to be firm and consistent with his training and as his pack leader to acclimate him to his new home. Tank is up to date on vaccinations, neutered, and microchipped.

Story
It's all about the ears! Rex (DOB: 12/22) was brought to the shelter, malnourished and covered with fleas and ticks, in May 2023 along with his 3 siblings. This boy, the largest of the 4 sibs, weighs 60 lbs. This gorgeous boy has participated in the Wag 'n Train program and has a strong sit and some longer stays. He has great focus, is eager to please, and learns quick so he should do well with additional training for basic commands and leash manners. Rex plays well with other dogs and is in a playgroup with other shelter dogs. It is not known how he is with cats or kids. Rex loves to play with toys by himself or with humans. He enjoys playing fetch and spontaneously releases the toy pretty well. He is a very curious boy and loves to be pet. Rex is up to date on his vaccinations, neutered, and microchipped.

Story
My name is Karn. I'm assuming you are checking me out because you are looking for a furry companion. I would love to be your companion, forever and ever! I am 4 months old, my mom is a medium size German Shepherd mix. I don't know my dad, but that's ok. I'm a happy little dude and would bring great joy to your life. I'm learning basic obedience in our shelter dog training classes. I am well socialized with other dogs and pups, I am involved in our playgroups here at the shelter. It's so much fun! I love to play with toys, sometimes I make it a fun game of chase if you want to get it from me. I heard the trainer say she is going to teach me to bring it back and drop it. I'm pretty smart so I can learn about anything and I'm up for that. Bye for now, I hope someone will give me a home.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Hi, my name is Tamiyo. I am 4 months old. I am the smallest one of my litter. My mom was a German Shephard mix, about medium size. I am a sweet, lovable and playful pup. I am in training for basic obedience. I like to learn and I'm learning sit, down, stay and no jumping. I figured if I had some manners it might up my chances of getting adopted. I love playing in our playgroups with other doggies. I get along well with all of them. Please consider giving me a forever home. I would be forever grateful and will love you my whole life! Come check me out.
