Story
Minnie is a very sweet, gentle girl who is housebroken and does well with kids, cats, and other dogs. She has a calm, affectionate personality and great indoor manners. She was found abandoned with another dog and followed us home together. Both have since been spayed/neutered. Breed is unknown but appears to be Great Dane and possibly hound mix. Minnie would do best in a home with space to run or with an owner who can walk her daily. She is bonded with her “brother,” and we are hoping to find a home willing to adopt them together, if possible. Fee would be flexible for a bonded adoption! Sadly, we are unable to keep her due to the needs of our family, but we want to find her the loving home she deserves.

Story
My husband and I moved here 3 years ago with his teenage daughter and two dogs we had adopted years prior. Since then, we have been caring for 3 dogs that were left in the cemetery that we live next to. Mombo was the last one we took in. Our home situation has changed, in that his daughter no longer lives with us, we moved in his mother with her dog, and we have a new baby. We no longer have the time or help to provide the proper care and attention these dogs deserve. So we would like to find them more suitable owners and homes. Mombo is a beagle/boxer mix. He's 2.5 years old and probably about 80 pounds. He's neutered, chipped, and is up to date on shots. He is a high-energy dog during the day who loves to play, and is a huge cuddle bug at night. He's afrad of thunder, gunshots, and fireworks. He will chase after cats and squirrels.

Story
Tyke would never be up for adoption if I wasn’t sick. I’m struggling with a spinal cord injury amongst other chronic health issues. Tyke is a phenomenal dog. He’s good with other dogs (big and small), cats, birds, kids — anything he’s come across. I’d describe him as medium energy. He needs a good run like any other dog, but he’s happy to hang out as well. He travels well too (he’s driven across country twice in our RV and was the #1 passenger). He’s house trained and crate trained, he also knows sit and leave it. He’s great with recall. He needs chew toys to stay busy. If you can’t afford his monthly Bark Box please pick another dog. I expect a home with lots of attention, adventures, and regular treats. This dog was born in my hands. I took his stray mom in and helped birth Tyke and his 8 siblings. He was born St Patty’s day 2024 and he’ll be the luckiest pot of gold to a family who loves him right. Meet and greet, home inspection and vet references required.

Story
If you are interested, you MUST complete the application. We will only set up meet and greets with an approved application. Pixie is one of 10 small defenseless little dogs that was dumped in the middle of many many acres of nothing but soybean and corn fields. What a horrible fate for these dear sweet babies. Animal Control was called and they called PAWS to see if we could assist with trying to catch them and take them in. We have spent over two weeks (at the time of this post) and managed to catch 7 of them. We are still working to catch the last two that we can find and have not seen the 10th one since the first day. These babies have been through quite the ordeal and are now ready to go on to homes where they will be loved and doted on. They are all shy at first and definite flight risks so they will not be adopted to homes with children and will require that the adopter have a fenced yard. This beautiful girl, Pixie, is very shy and will take someone with lots of love and patience to win her over. She came around very quickly with me but gets very scared if anything in her environment changes or if she is taken to a new environment (such as the vet). She is a very loving little girl who wants to be loved so badly but just can't forget that humans have not been kind to her. She is still very afraid of fast movements. She will do well with other other dogs as long as they are her size or smaller and allow her to be the boss. She is about 11 lbs and we guestimate that she was born around 07/01/2018. Her adoption fee is $350.

Story
Oliver was surrendered to an Animal Control facility because his owner was neglecting him. He was so scared and untrusting when he first arrived but was also so wanting of attention and affection. He was a bit standoffish and reactive to quick movements for a couple of days but he quickly gave kisses when I sat quietly with him and just let him be. He is a great little guy who weighs about 22 lbs and is believed to have been born around 11/20/2016. He just needs a little love, patience and kindness in a quiet home with no children. So far, he has been good with the other small dogs that he has been in a playgroup with but they are always supervised. This boy has SO much love to give and I just pray someone with open their heart to him and give him the chance to be loved that he has never had until he arrived at PAWS. He is neutered, up to date on shots, microchipped, Heartworm negative and on preventative, and had a dental on 12/06/2024. His adoption fee is $200. If interested in becoming his family, please go to pawspaws.org to complete the application. Thanks so much for your interest!

Story
Babe was adopted from PAWS as a 6 month old puppy (DOB 02/10/2015) and finds herself back in the shelter 10 years later due to her mom having to go into a facility where she could no longer care for Babe. She is a sweet girl who is active and playful. And she loves her belly rubs!! She loves other dogs but is not really sure about cats. She has done well with everyone she has met while she has been back with us. She would really like to go to a home as she really doesn't understand what has happened to her world. Won't you be the one to make her world complete and come meet her and tell her she is THE ONE? If interested in adopting her or any of our babies at PAWS, please go to pawspaws.org to complete the PAWS application. If approved we will contact you (usually within 72 hours), to set up a meet and greet. This girl is praying for someone to see her for the sweet girl she is!!
