Story
Shirley is a healthy, wonderful, sweet, playful and affectionate companion. But she is also very big and strong, and I have developed some medical issues that limit my mobility and make it difficult for me to properly care for her. I recently moved to Plattsburgh from Minnesota, and I don’t know anyone who is available to take her in, so I am hoping to find a loving family who wants to give her a new home.

Story
Dexter is a sweet 5 year old, male Staffordshire Terrier and German Shepherd mix. He weighs about 65 lbs. He loves to be outside and cuddle with family on the couch. He loves to fetch balls, to be outside and just being with his people. He also goes by Dex and Dexie. He is a rescue and has been with me since he was a puppy. I’m devastated to let him go but have no choice. I’m getting divorced and the only place I could find to live does not accept pets. He will make the most wonderful companion and family member for a single person, a family with kids or a senior, anybody really. He’s a great, calm and affectionate dog. Ask me anything about him. I want to find the right person or family for him.

**COURTESY LISTING** Dexter not at Elmore SPCA. If you are interested in him, please reach out to his owner, Athena directly at (518) 802-8051 or codyathena94@gmail.com.Dexter is a very silly and playful dog with a big personality. He loves to play with his toys and gets very excited, especially outside. He really enjoys jumping and diving into snowbanks and has a lot of energy. He is affectionate and will follow you around the house. he even likes to wait in the bathtub while you’re in the bathroom.Once he realizes it’s not playtime, he will lay down and settle, but he is generally very hyper and energetic. Because of his high energy, jumping, and because he can be mouthy when excited and is still learning gentle manners, he would do best in a home without young children. He pulls on the leash and is very excited on walks, so he may do best with a runner or secure outdoor setup where he can safely play and burn off energy. He would thrive with an active owner who can give him exercise and continue training. He has lived in a home with cats. He is curious about them and will try to play and may bark at them. He would do best with dog-savvy cats or with supervision while he continues learning calm manners around cats.
