Story
Courtesy Post: Owner Surrender/Rehoming- Skiatook, OK Smoke is a 4 year old Australian Shepherd and weighs 70 lbs. He is neutered, up to date on shots, and on heartworm prevention. Smoke is nervous around strangers, but warms up after a while. He hasn’t been tested around cats. No kids or dogs, due to his reactivity! Smoke bit a dog and the owner’s other dog during alpha male standoff situations. He is nervous around the owner’s child and has snarled at him. The owner is surrendering him because he doesn’t get along with kids or other dogs. He needs to find a new furever home as soon as possible! If you think you can provide a great home for Smoke, please contact the owner listed below. There is a $150 rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. This fee will be donated to Australian Shepherds Furever for their assistance in placing Smoke. Owner’s Contact Information: Orooj Harrison at (214) 603-7645 or oroojharrison@gmail.com.

Story
Our sweet Diesel was adopted /rescued through the Bristow animal rescue. He was 11weeks old when we brought him home. He is. Almost 15 years old but it's hard to belive because he acts like a puppy at times. He loves his heating pad and beds. He is used to sleeping in our bed. Loves to be with us. This is very difficult for us. Especially me. He is my baby. We are in our mid 70s and are moving where we can't take him. Diesel would thrive in a home where you love and care for him. He isn't good in the car or with other dogs. He barks at strangers but settles down once he knows it's OK. He is good with our whole extended family. But not their dogs. He was raised with our other dog but Buddy died a year ago .. They were like brothers. So I know he can be OK with another dog. But I can't promise it will go well ... Diesel has a fenced back yard. He tells us he has to pottie and we open the door . He goes & comes in when he wants .I have been praying for the right home ...

Story
I am writing on behalf of my mother, who is in her early 80's. She adopted Eliza about a two-and-a half years ago. At the time, my mother had Eliza spayed, and made sure all of her shots were taken care of. The veterinarian estimated that Eliza was about a year-and-a-half old at the time, making her roughly four years old currently. While my mother dearly loves her, Eliza has just become too much for her to handle. As a dachshund-terrier mix, she is extremely high energy. If left unchecked, Eliza has a proclivity to dash out of the front door or dig under the backyard fence. The vet speculated that Eliza was likely born and raised on a farm or similar outdoor area, which could help explain her free spirit. The hope was that she would settle down after she was spayed and as she matured a bit. Unfortunately, that has not been the case. We would love to see Eliza go to someone who is able to handle her energy and enthusiasm. She is a very sweet dog, but she can be a handful.

Story
We adopted him from the Sand springs Oklahoma pet shelter. He was just over a we got him, I believe he is about 2 and 1/2 to 3 years now. He is loving, and patient. He is house trained, and loves hugs. He is a little skittish, he lived outdoors when he was a puppy apparently. But he loves to be outdoors mostly, but loves to come in and enjoy the air conditioning. He is crate trained, which means he sleeps there at night, and will stay in his crate for a couple of hours if you have to run errands as well. He is great with my stepsons dogs, he has been around a little boy that is two, and does a great with him.He also lives with our other dog, and two cats. He does not bother the cats at all. He likes to be in water during the heat, but does not like to be sprayed with water. He's a very good dog, we just cant keep him because of the landlord.
