Story
Meet Blaze 🐾 This is Blaze! He’s my mom’s dog, and unfortunately she’s moving soon and can’t take him with her due to his size. We’re hoping to find him a loving home as quickly as possible. Blaze is incredibly friendly and truly loves everyone he meets. He’s very affectionate and can be a bit of a “lap dog” despite his size, so he’d do best in a home with older kids rather than young children. With teens or adults, he would be an amazing companion. He’s been raised on a farm his whole life, so he’s used to wide open spaces and would thrive in a home with plenty of room to run and play. While he’s not familiar with city life, with patience and time to adjust, he should do just fine. He also makes a great guard dog—alert, protective, and loyal. Most of all, Blaze is a big baby who loves affection of all kinds and just wants to be loved back. My mom will be moving within the month, so we’re really hoping to find Blaze the right home soon. If you’re interested or have any questions, plea

Story
Bambi comes to us as an owner surrender, she had a life of loneliness, her previous owners did not have the time a young working dog needs to stay out of trouble and burn off energy. Since she has been in our care she has came out of her shell, we have noticed that she does not mind cats, gets along with any dog we have put her with and she loves everyone. Yet she still has the energy and curiosity of a puppy

Story
Memphis is a handsome male dog with a striking grey and white coat. His fur is short and smooth, with patches of steely grey blending into crisp white along his chest, legs, and the tip of his tail. His expressive eyes—perhaps a warm brown or piercing blue—give him a soulful, intelligent look. Memphis carries himself with a confident yet easygoing demeanor, the kind of dog who’s equally happy chasing a ball in the yard or lounging at your feet after a long walk. He might have a playful streak, always curious and eager to explore, but he’s also loyal and grounded—one of those dogs that seems to understand more than he lets on. Whether he's trotting proudly beside you or resting his head in your lap, Memphis gives off an air of quiet strength and devoted companionship. If Memphis sounds like a good match for you or your family please call 405-262-6941 or send us a message at spowers@elrenook.gov to schedule a meet and greet

Story
Ranger is an 8-month-old black Labrador Retriever with all the classic traits that make young Labs so lovable. He’s likely brimming with energy—always ready to run, play fetch, or investigate anything that moves. His coat is probably sleek and glossy, that deep midnight black Labs are known for, and his paws may still look just a bit too big for his body, giving him that charming “still growing” look. At this age, Ranger is curious and enthusiastic about everything. He may be in the middle of his mischievous adolescent phase—testing boundaries, stealing socks, and wagging his tail hard enough to knock things off tables. He’s smart and eager to learn, though, and probably thrives on training sessions, treats, and praise. Despite the puppy chaos, Ranger’s sweet Labrador personality shines through. He’s affectionate, people-oriented, and happiest when he’s close to his humans—whether that’s cuddled at your feet or trotting right next to you on a walk. If you would like to meet Ranger, please call 405-262-6941 or send us an email

Story
Meet Ardie 8-month-old Lab mix male Ardie is a young male black Labrador with all the classic traits that make the breed so loved. He has a sleek, glossy black coat that almost seems to shine blue in the sunlight, and expressive brown eyes that broadcast every thought—curiosity, excitement, mischief, affection. He’s energetic in that “still discovering the world” way: always ready to chase a tennis ball, investigate a new scent, or sprint just because running feels good. His paws are a little big for his age, giving him that endearing, slightly clumsy bounce when he gets excited. His tail wags like a metronome set to “joy,” thumping against anything in reach. Ardie is deeply people-oriented—he shadows his favorite humans from room to room, often sitting at their feet or nudging a hand for just one more pat. He’s smart, eager to please, and a fast learner, though his enthusiasm sometimes gets ahead of his manners. Whether he’s curled up after a long play session or bounding across the yard, Ardie radiates that warm, goofy, loyal Lab charm.
