Story
Hi I'm Max,I have found myself at the shelter through no fault of my own. I am a very sweet and loving boy in need of a second chance. I have lots of energy when needed; I really love to play and go for walks. I also love to relax and cuddle; I really enjoy sitting or lying beside you and getting lots of rubs and snuggles. I like belly rubs and bum rubs best, and enjoy my ears being scratched. I love people, but can be a bit nervous when first meeting new people- as such, I would do best in a home with no small children! I have great manners, and have many basic commands, such as Sit, Lie Down and Give a Paw. I am a smart cookie, and eager to learn, so if you want to teach this dog new tricks, I'll look forward to it. I love to go for walks- I can pull a bit at the beginning but I quickly settle down. With a little patience and training, I will continue to improve. I would do well in a home with no other animals- I want to be the star of the show! I am very good in the house, very clean and well behaved. I really enjoy playing with toys, tug and fetch and I like to swim. I am scared of thunderstorms and fireworks; I will hide in my bed and want you to cuddle me! I can be distracted with the TV, radio, or playing/cuddling. Overall, I am a happy boy with a sweet and gentle nature. I will follow you around; I just love my humans and like to be with you. I really want to be part of a loving family again, if you think I could be part of your family, please call to come meet me! Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: Tan Weight: 43 Age: 6yrs 9mths 1wks

Story
Hi all, Skip here! I came to the rescue named Clyde but my foster family loved the skip to my step so my name was quickly changed. I am approximately 6 months old and if you didn’t notice, I’m missing my front leg due to an unknown injury. I still love to play and run around the yard but I won’t be a great long-distance hiking or running buddy for someone. I live with four other dogs ranging from small to big and I love playing and cuddling with them all. I also live with a 7-month-old human sister and we are best friends. My foster parents say my ideal home will need another dog but some kid siblings would be great too. If you think I’d make a great addition to your home and have lots of love for me, make sure to apply here:  Adoption Information (hankshaven.ca) * Skip is being fostered in Innisfil *  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 26, 2023, 7:16 pm

Story
Hi, I’m Marci! I’m an approximate 2 year old, petite bully mix. I love everyone I meet but can be a bit shy at first. When I first came to my foster family, I was afraid of everything. My foster mom says I’m a completely different pup now! I’ll go up to people easily and my tail wags like crazy. I still startle with loud noises and sudden movements, but I don’t hide anymore. I live with two young boys who are very energetic but I love to play with them. I also I LOVE my foster dog sister, so I would like a home with another dog. Not sure about cats, I haven’t really seen them. I like to run around the yard, and sometimes chase the chipmunks and squirrels along the fence. I don’t have great recall yet, so I’ll need a fenced yard. I’m learning to walk on a leash, and getting pretty good at this “heel” thing. Mom says I still need some work, I say I just want to walk in all the grass and smell everything. I am crate trained, and will stay in there quietly while you’re out. Mom says this is best because sometimes I get bored and chew things that aren’t toys if I'm not supervised. If you think you’re the right family for me, I can’t wait to meet you! Make sure to apply here: Adoption Information (hankshaven.ca) * Marci is being fostered in Port Perry *Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 26, 2023, 7:16 pm

Story
Ivy is the cutest potato! You’ll have a hard time saying no to those gorgeous golden eyes. She is an approximate 1.5 to 2 year old bully mix.    If you’re looking for the most perfect companion, look no further. This sweet girl has been through so much and still has so much love to give. She’s is very gentle and docile and is great with all people, even strangers and children and loves to give plenty of kisses. She expects every person to greet her with belly rubs. You might mistake her for being half piglet due to all her cute snorts. She is very curious, loves walking, exploring and sniffing all the new smells while enjoying only the finest cuts of grass. Ivy is very playful, loves to play and chase her stuffies and chew on bones but is also content napping or snuggling up with you on the couch. She’s the smartest girl you’ll ever meet. She is completely house trained, crate trained, but a little Houdini and likes to escape but is perfect out of the crate and never gets in to anything or chews. She also does the cutest little happy dance at meal time. Ivy can be very dog selective so a home with no other animals is ideal however she is good with cats. She has been fostered in different households with a variety of different dogs but ultimately has decided she likes her own space. When seeing one on a walk, she will bark and pull-on leash but she’s been working hard and showing improvement. Ivy sleeps on her own dog bed in the room, but not before belly rubs and getting tucked in with her favourite blanket and stuffy. She will greet you with a smiling face and kisses every morning. She sleeps contently all night, but you will hear a snore or two coming from her.   Ivy just wants to find a home where she would be with someone who loves her and gets to do everything with, explore, learn, love and lots of interactions with other people. If you think you are that home, make sure to apply for her here: Adoption Information (hankshaven.ca) * Ivy is being fostered in Orillia *  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 26, 2023, 7:16 pm

Story
Please share Danny!! Hello! I’m Danny! I currently live with 3 other small dogs. We get along pretty well! I wish they would play with me more though! I currently have an 8 year old human foster brother who I was very unsure of at first, I’ve grown to love him, but tiny humans scare me. Due to the fact that I am skittish it is older, considerate teens only, please! I’m nervous and unsure of strangers, so please be patient with me, I just want to know that you are kind first! Please let me come to you, it doesn’t take long for me to trust, and then I’ll be your best friend! Sometimes when I’m eating with other dogs, I may bark or whine a bit at them. It’s just until I get used to them being around. I’m a good boy and always come when I’m called. I’m still learning commands like “sit” and “shake a paw”. I LOVE treats they are my favourite thing in the world!! I don’t have accidents inside unless I’m not let out regularly. And I don’t like rain! It’s wet! I’ll need some coaxing when that happens! This cold weather and snow is new for me! I’m slowly getting used to it though! And I love walks(when it’s not too cold) I have excellent leash manners but still get a bit spooked by loud vehicles and strangers. The world is a loud, scary place but I’m getting better everyday ! I wish I was allowed to sleep with foster mom in her bed at night! I’m not allowed but I'm content sleeping with the other dogs, on dog beds, in the bedroom with her. I sleep all night and do great at night. I love to chew and because of this, my foster mom puts me in my bedroom with my open crate and toys when she leaves the house. And I do great! New places and car rides make me nervous. But with love and trust, I warm up quickly. I LOVE LOVE LOVE toys!!! Stuffys, chew toys, my snuffle board, my kong Oh! And my ball! Oh How I love my ball!!! I’m learning to play fetch and it’s just so much fun!! Sometimes I will lightly growl but I never mean any harm, I’m just letting you know I’m scared. Something is making me nervous. What I love even more than my ball and exercise?? Cuddles and belly rubs! I love love! I am approximately 10 months old, weigh about 35lbs and am neutered. I have been microchipped and am up to date on my vaccines. I am being fostered in Barrie.
