Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.TANGERINE hails from the Northern community of Kasabonica and came south with her 3 siblings, Clementine, Papaya and Apricot to find her forever home. She’s had her 2 sets of puppy vaccines, a microchip, “Interceptor Plus” dewormer and been deemed a healthy girl by her Vet. We have no information on either parent so the breeds we have her listed as and the size she’ll grow to be is just an educated guess. Seeing as she comes from a community with lots of stray dogs do she no doubt has many different breeds in her that are not as notable as well. This “Orange” Litter is very chill and relaxed and they’re a very quiet litter as well. She really loves to socialize with people and will excitedly run up to them with her tail wagging to greet them with kisses. She loves to be picked up and snuggled into you and she’ll contentedly just lay in your lap. With her gentle, happy personality and loving nature she’s ready to find her forever home where she can continue to thrive and grow. TANGERINE is a very gentle, soft natured little girl who will sit back and watch her siblings  rough house and has no interest in joining them. She’s definitely the gentlest one in the litter. She is playful but in her own special quiet way. She’s curious of the world around her and once she’s familiar with where she is then she’ll be adventurous and check out her surroundings. She loves to chase a ball around especially the spikey type and she enjoys all the chewy toys she has as well. TANGERINE is 100% crate trained and sleeps quietly in it at night curled up with her stuffie and she’ll also quietly take her naps in it during the day too. She’s getting really good on taking her bathroom breaks outside but she is regularly taken outside to do so. She loves going on walks and gets very excited when she knows she’s going on one. Due to teething, she’s at a chewing stage and needs lots of chewy bones and toys to keep those little teeth busy. She’s starting to learn some basic commands such as to “sit” for her meals and to take treats “gentle.” TANGERINE’s ideal family would be an active but quiet one who loves the outdoors, going on hikes, walks and will take her on adventures with them as well. She really loves to go in a vehicle and will just rest in her crate and quietly enjoy being driven around. She’s socialized with other dogs as there’s 3 resident dogs in her foster home and she loves to be around them. She would suit a home with a dog but she can also be an only dog provided she’s not left alone for long periods of time. She does have 2 cats in the home but there’s no real interaction with them at this stage. However, if there’s one in her new home we do recommend the same as with a dog in the home and that is a slow, monitored introduction between them while the puppy is held on a leash. She needs a fenced-in yard so she can run around and play safely. Children should be aged 6yrs and up plus be gentle, loving and caring towards animals. TANGERINE, like all puppies is cute, playful and fun but she’ll also require a lot of time, patience and dedication to training. We need her adopter to commit to signing her up for puppy training/obedience classes so she can be the best well behaved puppy possible. Her spay is included in her adoption fee and her adopter must be in agreement to have her spay performed by the time she’s 6 months of age and it will either be at our vet’s office or at the Barrie SPCA. You do have the option to use your own vet and we’ll reimburse you what we would’ve paid for it at the SPCA. However, her spay will still have to be performed in the above timeframe. For the reimbursement we will need a copy of the surgery invoice and an updated photo of her (preferably in her onsie or a cone after the surgery.) The photo will be put on our fb page along with other animals that were spay/neutered that same week. If TANGERINE sounds like She’d suit your home and lifestyle then please submit an adoption application to meet her. It should be noted that puppies personalities can change daily/weekly as their little brains develop. We try to keep our puppy postings as up-to-date as possible but due to their development, it’s not always possible to note 100% accurate behavioural information. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 11, 2026, 6:42 pm

This “Orange” Litter is very chill and relaxed and his foster says they’re a very quiet litter as well. He really loves to socialize with people and will excitedly run up to them with his tail wagging to and to give kisses. He’s a very loving boy and loves to be picked up and snuggled into you. He loves the water and there is a picture of him sitting in a big bowl of water. This was actually put out to drink from but he jumped right in it to cool off instead. With his happy personality and loving nature he’s ready to find his forever home where he can continue to thrive and grow. PAPAYA is great in his crate and is completely trained in it and he’ll sleep quietly through the night curled up with his stuffie and he’ll also nap in it quietly in the daytime. He loves to go on walks and he gets excited when he knows he’s going on one. He now understands when he’s on his walks that’s the time for bathroom breaks too. He’s taken outside regularly for bathroom breaks and definitely understands to go outside now but he just isn’t at the stage where he’ll ask to go outside yet. Due to teething, he’s at a chewing stage and needs lots of chewy bones such as Nyla bones to keep those little teeth busy. He’s starting to learn some basic commands such as “sit” for his meals and to take treats “gentle.” PAPAYA’s ideal family would be an active one who loves the outdoors, going on hikes, walks and will take him on adventures with them as well. It will either be at our vet’s office or at the Barrie SPCA. You do have the option to use your own vet and we’ll reimburse you what we would’ve paid for it at the SPCA. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.BOURNVILLE hails from a Southern community in Ontario and came into the rescue with her 3 siblings, Milky Bar, Galaxy and Dairy Milk. They came into Rescue on the Easter weekend so they received the litter name of the  “Chocolates’s” and this cute girl is now looking for her forever home. She’s had her 3 sets of puppy vaccines including rabies, a microchip, “Interceptor Plus” dewormer and been deemed a healthy girl by her vet. We do have a picture of her mum and she looks like a Border Collie/Bully mix but we have no info on dad. Seeing as she comes from a community with lots of stray dogs she no doubt has many different breeds in her and they could additionally include Shepherd, Black Lab and even Husky. We also have no idea on the size she’ll grow to be so the size we have in this post is just a guess. Se are definitely looking for an adopter for her who has Bully breed experience. She’s a very loving, happy girl and that little tail of hers is always wagging. She really loves to socialize with people but she may be a bit apprehensive of someone at first but she soon comes around when left alone and will eventually go and greet them on their own terms. With her happy personality and loving nature  she’ll be a great asset to a dog loving home.  BOURNVILLE is sweet, playful and full of curiosity. This lovely girl loves to spend time outside playing in her fenced-in yard. When her playtime is over she’s all about the cuddles and she’ll happily curl up in your lap for some quality nap time. With her happy personality and loving nature she’s ready to find her forever home where she can continue to thrive and grow. BOURNVILLE is crate trained and picked up on that very quickly as she’s a very smart girl. She’ll sleep quietly in it at night but in the day she does like to sleep on her dog bed. She’s doing really well with her house training and will let you know when she needs to go outside for a bathroom break. She loves to go for walks and she’s now almost up to doing 30 minutes at a time. She has met several friendly dogs on her walks and she’s a bit reserved at first but soon relaxes and has been able to greet them nicely. Due to teething, she’s at a chewing stage and needs lots of chewy toys to satisfy that urge not to chew on anything that she shouldn’t. She really loves to chew on a Nyla bone to keep those little teeth busy too. She’s starting to learn a couple of basic commands already such as “sit” for her meals and treats and to take them “gentle.” BOURNVILLE’s ideal family would be a quiet one and one who loves the outdoors, going on hikes, walks and will take her on adventures with them. Ideally someone would be home with her for most of the day as she loves to be around her people. She really loves to go in a vehicle and will just rest in her crate and quietly enjoy being driven around. Although there’s not a dog in her foster home she does love being with one. She’s met many of our other foster dogs and loved them all from puppies to full grown adults. So we are recommending a dog be in her new home. She’s not met a cat yet but if there’s one in her new home then they should be dog savvy and we always recommend that a slow, monitored introduction be made between them while the puppy is on a leash for initial meetings. She needs a fenced-in yard and children should be aged 10yrs and up plus be gentle, loving and caring towards animals.  BOURNVILLE was adopted but after 3 weeks she was returned to the rescue and we feel it was through no fault of her own. When meeting new people she needs her space. If you try to approach her with hands out she’ll back up and try to leave the area and/or hide behind her ‘safe person.’ The safest way to approach her is by following the ‘no touch, no talk and no eye contact’ rule to avoid triggering a flight or fight response. She has successfully met groups of people with this technique and when she was ready, she approached each person on her own and had a good sniff and then said ‘hello.’  She is wary of tall men and offers a small grumble initially to express her concern but with the same approach as already mentioned, she quickly relaxes.  BOURNVILLE, like all puppies is cute, playful and a fun puppy but she’ll also require a lot of time, patience and dedication to training. We need her adopter to commit to sign her up for puppy training/obedience classes so she can be the most well behaved puppy possible. Her spay is included in her adoption fee and her potential adopter must be in agreement to have her spay performed by the time she’s 6 months of age. It will either be at our vet’s office or be at the Barrie SPCA. You do have the option to use your own vet and we’ll reimburse you what we would’ve paid for it there. However her spay will still have to be performed in the above timeframe for the reimbursement and we’ll need a copy of the procedure invoice and an updated photo of her (preferably in a onsie or cone after the surgery.) The photo will be put on our fb page along with other animals that were spay/neutered that same week. If BOURNVILLE sounds like she’d suit your home and lifestyle then please submit an adoption application to meet her.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.LOVEY DOVEY hails from the Northern community of Sandy Lake and came south with her two sisters, Honey Bunch and Sweetie Pie. They’re named the Valentine Trio and she’s now looking to find her forever home. She’s spayed, received her three sets of puppy vaccines as well as her Rabies shot, a microchip, dewormer and has been deemed a healthy girl by her vet. We really don’t know the size she’ll grow to be as we have no information on either parent. The same can be said about the breeds we’ve stated as we just go by what she looks like. There is a picture of her with her 2 siblings and they look to be Lab mixes but that’s just a guess. She’s a gentle girl and is very relaxed and behaves very well when she’s been taken to any events. She’s still very much a puppy and loves her snuggles. She’s still teething so she has lots of chew toys including Nyla bones to keep her little teeth busy.  LOVEY DOVEY’s crate trained and sleeps quietly in it at night and will also nap in it during the day too. House training is going well and she rarely has an accident in the home but she is taken outside frequently. She really enjoys going on walks and gets excited when she knows she’s going on one. She wears a harness when she goes out and like all puppies, she loves to run ahead of you. She has good manners but does tend to eat her food very quickly so a slow feeder is recommended for her. If there’s another dog in the home we would recommend that she eat her meals in her crate until she figures out  they’re not going to take her food away from her. She knows most basic commands and will take treats “gentle” and “sit” for her meals like a good girl.  LOVEY DOVEY’s ideal family should be an active one that loves the outdoors and to go on hikes and long walks on the trails. She does well in a vehicle so will always be up for a drive especially if it leads to an adventure for her. She’s well socialized with other dogs so she would suit being in a home with one. We do recommended that a slow monitored introduction be made between her and any dogs in the home and the dog kept leashed for the first few introductions. She was initially fostered with 2 cats and 2 rabbits and she was great with them and would even lay beside the cats in front of the fireplace. She can be an only pet in the home provided she’s not left alone for long periods of time every day. Children should be aged 6yrs and up plus be loving, gentle and caring towards animals. She does require a fenced-in yard so she can be kept safe while she has a run around and play. LOVEY DOVEY, like all puppies, is cute, playful and fun but also requires a lot of time, patience and dedication to training. We do need her adopter to be in agreement to take her for puppy/obedience training to help her to become the best girl possible. It should be noted that puppies personalities can change daily/weekly as their little brains develop. We try to keep our puppy postings as up-to-date as possible but due to their brain development, it’s not always possible to note 100% accurate behavioural information.  If LOVEY DOVEY sounds like she’ll suit your family and lifestyle then please submit an adoption application to meet her. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 11, 2026, 6:42 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.AZTEC was from the Northern community of Grassy Narrows and he came south to find his forever family. He’s received his two vaccines including a rabies shot, a microchip and his vet has deemed him a healthy boy. The size he’ll grow to be is just an educated guess as we have no info on either of his parents. He’s more than likely a mixed breed but what he could be mixed is just a guess based on his looks. He’s a big energetic boy who’s just starting to play with a an assortment of toys and figuring out what fun they are. He’s very good natured and enjoys being around people and he follows his foster around the house.  AZTEC is just starting to get used to his crate as we feel he was never crated before. He is house trained and will let you know when he has to go outside for a bathroom break. He’s just started to go on leash walks and he gets pretty excited when he knows he’s going outside for  one. He does wear a front facing harness as he’s a strong boy and his foster feels that works best for him. He has good manners and will “sit” for  his meals and knows “wait” plus “gentle” for his treats. He hasn’t lived with children so we are saying if there’s any in the home they should be age 10 years plus due to him being a big excitable boy and he could easily knock them down. He does require a fenced-in yard so he can run around and play safely.  AZTEC’s ideal family would be an active one that loves to go on big hikes and walks so he can get the exercise he needs to burn off his puppy energy. He does well in a vehicle so will always be up for a drive, especially if it leads to an adventure for him. He’ll do well in a home with another dog as he’s met several and played really well with them. He’s not met a cat but if there’s one in the home they should be dog savvy and we highly recommend that when they meet he’s kept on a leash for the first few introductions. He would do well as an only pet in the home provided he’s not left alone for long periods of time.  Young dogs are cute, playful and fun but also require a lot of time, patience and dedication to training. We do need his adopter to be in agreement to take him for obedience training to help him to become the best adult boy possible. If AZTEC sounds like he’ll suit your family and lifestyle then please submit an adoption application to meet him. We will also consider foster-to-adopt for him to the right home.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 11, 2026, 6:42 pm
