Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.HIPPITY hails from the Northern community of Sandy Lake and came south with his brother, Hoppity, to find his forever home. He’s received two sets of puppy vaccines, a microchip, Interceptor Plus dewormer and has been deemed a healthy boy by his vet. The “Easter Duo” were found all alone with no parents so the breeds we have him listed as is just an educated guess based on what he and his brother look like and the same can be said of the size he’ll grow to be as well.  HIPPITY is such a gentle, quiet boy with the softest nature. He does like to cuddle up to you but he’ll also let you know when he’s had enough and wants to get down again.  He loves socializing with anyone new and everyone’s always greeted by a happy, tail wagging little boy. He is your typical active, fun little puppy too who runs around and plays with his many toys and the squeaky the seem to be his favourite ones. He also has a few chewy toys including a Nyla bone to help with his teething.  HIPPITY’s excellent in his crate and he sleeps soundly through the night in it and he’ll also have a nap in there during the day as he now knows it’s his safe place to go. He’s also doing great with his housetraining and he’s picked up on the concept of it so quickly and he’s about 90% there. He really is a smart boy and seems to know exactly what’s expected of him and he’s always looking for you to give him direction. He loves to go on walks and gets excited when he knows he’s going on one. He wears a harness when he walks so there’s no tugging on his neck.  One of the cutest things he does is graze on his food as he very rarely finish his meal all at once. After a while he will paw on his bowl and eat the remains kibble if the floor. He’s very well mannered and at meal times he’ll “sit” nicely for them and he’ll also take treats “gentle.” HIPPITY’s ideal family would be an active one who loves the outdoors and to go on hikes and walks in the woods. He does need a family that’s had a Husky before and understands the complex nature that comes with the breed. In his case, he’s a very good boy now but without the breed experience he could easily become more challenging the older he gets. He does well in a vehicle so will always be up for a drive, especially if it leads to an adventure for him. He has another puppy he’s fostered with (Galaxy) and they get along really well together. He has several cats in his foster home but they don’t really interaction with him. If there’s either a cat or dog in his new home we always strongly recommend a slow, monitored introduction while he’s leashed for the first few times they meet or interact. He should do well as an only pet in the home provided he’s not left alone for long periods of time and definitely not crated for more than a few hours during the day. Children should be aged 6yrs and up plus be loving, gentle and kind towards animals. He does requires a fenced-in yard so he can be kept safe while he has a run around and play outside.  HIPPITY, like all puppies, is cute, playful and fun but also require a lot of time, patience and dedication to training. We do need his adopter to be in agreement to take him for puppy/obedience training to help him to become the best boy possible. His neuter is included in his adoption fee and his adopter must be in agreement to have him neutered by the time he’s 9 months of age or 60lbs (whichever comes first.) The surgery will be at the Barrie SPCA but you can use your own vet and we’ll reimburse you what we would’ve paid for it there. In order for the rescue to do so we need the neuter requirements to still be followed plus a copy of the procedure invoice and a picture of him (preferably in a cone) in order to do the reimbursement. We do post the picture on our fb page along with other pets that were “fixed” in the same week.  If HIPPITY sounds like he’ll suit your family and lifestyle then please submit an adoption application to meet him.      Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 24, 2026, 11:51 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.LOVEY DOVEY hails from the Northern community of Sandy Lake and came south with her two sisters, Honey Bunch and Sweetie Pie and they’re named the Valentine Trio. She’s now looking to find her forever home. She’s received her three sets of puppy vaccines, her Rabies shot, a microchip, dewormer and has been deemed a healthy girl by her vet. We really don’t know the size she’ll grow to be as we have no information on either parent. The same can be said about the breeds we’ve stated as we just go by what she looks like. There is a picture of her with her 2 siblings and they look to be Lab mixes but that’s just a guess. She’s the smallest one in the litter and we could probably say the cuddliest one too as she loves to cuddle and sleep in her foster’s lap. As much as she loves her sisters and playing with them she will wander off and do her own thing too. She’s the observant one in the litter and will sit back to observe what the other two are up to. She’s currently teething so she has lots of chew toys including Nyla bones to keep her little teeth busy.  LOVEY DOVEY’s crate trained and sleeps quietly in it at night and will also nap in it during the day too. House training is going well and she rarely has an accident in the home but she is taken outside frequently. She really enjoys going on walks and gets excited when she knows she’s going on one. She wears a harness when she goes on one and like all puppies, she loves to run ahead of you. She has good manners and is slowly learning not to rush her food down. She will take treats “gentle” and will “sit” for her meals like a good girl.  LOVEY DOVEY’s ideal family should have Husky experience as although she’s a very gentle girl right now, the older she gets the more challenging she could become. They should also be an active one that loves the outdoors as we know once she’s a bigger girl she’ll love to be outside and want to be adventurous and go on hikes and long walks on the trails. She does well in a vehicle so will always be up for a drive and especially if it leads to an adventure for her. There’s no other dog (than her sisters) in her foster home so but she has met several in the neighbourhood so is well socialized. She should do well with another dog in the home and if there is one we do recommended that a slow introduction be made between them and the dog kept leashed for the first few introductions. She has 2 cats and 2 rabbits in her foster home and she does lay with the cats in front of the fireplace. She can be an only pet in the home provided she’s not left alone for long periods of time every day. Children should be aged 6yrs and up plus be loving, gentle and kind towards animals. She does require a fenced-in yard so she can be kept safe while she has a run around and play. LOVEY DOVEY, like all puppies, is cute, playful and fun but also require a lot of time, patience and dedication to training. We do need her adopter to be in agreement to take her for puppy/obedience training to help her to become the best girl possible. Her spay is included in her adoption fee and her potential adopter must be in agreement to have her spayed by the time she’s 6 months of age. The surgery will be at the Barrie SPCA but you can use your own vet and we’ll reimburse you what we would’ve paid for it there. In order for the rescue to do so we need the spay requirements to still be followed plus a copy of the procedure invoice and a picture of her (preferably in her onsie or cone) in order to do the reimbursement. We do post the picture on our fb page along with other pets that were “fixed” in the same week.  If LOVEY DOVEY sounds like she’ll suit your family and lifestyle then please submit an adoption application to meet her. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 24, 2026, 11:51 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.AZTEC was from the Northern community of Grassy Narrows and he came south to find his forever family. He’s received his two vaccines including a rabies shot, a microchip and his vet has deemed him a healthy boy. The size he’ll grow to be is just an educated guess as we have no info on either of his parents. He’s more than likely a mixed breed but what he could be mixed is just a guess based on his looks. He’s a big energetic boy who’s just starting to play with a an assortment of toys and figuring out what fun they are. He’s very good natured and enjoys being around people and he follows his foster around the house.  AZTEC is just starting to get used to his crate as we feel he was never crated before. He is house trained and will let you know when he has to go outside for a bathroom break. He’s just started to go on leash walks and he gets pretty excited when he knows he’s going outside for  one. He does wear a front facing harness as he’s a strong boy and his foster feels that works best for him. He has good manners and will “sit” for  his meals and knows “wait” plus “gentle” for his treats. He hasn’t lived with children so we are saying if there’s any in the home they should be age 10 years plus due to him being a big excitable boy and he could easily knock them down. He does require a fenced-in yard so he can run around and play safely.  AZTEC’s ideal family would be an active one that loves to go on big hikes and walks so he can get the exercise he needs to burn off his puppy energy. He does well in a vehicle so will always be up for a drive, especially if it leads to an adventure for him. He’ll do well in a home with another dog as he’s met several and played really well with them. He’s not met a cat but if there’s one in the home they should be dog savvy and we highly recommend that when they meet he’s kept on a leash for the first few introductions. He would do well as an only pet in the home provided he’s not left alone for long periods of time.  Young dogs are cute, playful and fun but also require a lot of time, patience and dedication to training. We do need his adopter to be in agreement to take him for obedience training to help him to become the best adult boy possible. If AZTEC sounds like he’ll suit your family and lifestyle then please submit an adoption application to meet him. We will also consider foster-to-adopt for him to the right home.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 24, 2026, 11:51 pm

She’s received her three sets of vaccines plus her Rabies shot, a microchip, dewormer and has been deemed a healthy girl by her vet. We really don’t know the size she’ll grow to be as we have no information on either parent. The same can be said about the breeds we’ve stated as we just go by what she looks like. There is a picture of her with her 2 siblings and one looks just like her and the other is a Husky. She’s a very affectionate girl and is also a real cuddler and loves to be cuddled and held. As you can see from her pictures, her ears have a mind of their own right now and can’t decide if they’re going up, down or sideways. If we had to guess though we feel they’re probably going to be “uppie” ears. She’s very curious about the world around her and definitely has an adventurous side to her as she loves to investigate anything new she finds. She loves snuggling and being a lap dog and also being a shadow and follow her foster around the house. She can be rambunctious at times with her sister and play tough but she’s easily corrected and will then start to play gentler with her. She’s currently teething so she has lots of chew toys including Nyla bones to keep her little teeth busy.  HONEY BUNCH is crate trained and sleeps quietly in it at night and will also nap in it during the day too. House training is going well and she’ll cry to go outside for a bathroom break now. The odd time she’ll be so engrossed in playing that she’ll need a reminder to go outside so constant trips for now are best for her until she knows to ask every time she needs to go bathroom. She loves to go on her daily walks and gets really excited when she knows she’s going on one. She uses both a collar and a harness when she goes on one too and like all puppies, she’ll excitedly race ahead of you. She has good manners and will “sit” for her meals and also take her treats “gentle.” An ideal family for HONEY BUNCH is an active one that loves the outdoors as we know once she’s a bigger girl she’ll love to be outside and want to be adventurous and go on hikes and long walks on the trails. She does well in a vehicle so will always be up for a drive and especially if it leads to an adventure for her. A family with some Husky experience would be good for her as it looks like she has that breed in her based on the looks of her sister, Lovey Dovey. There’s no other dog in her foster home but she has met several neighbourhood dogs and has been very social with them. If there’s a dog in her new home we do recommend a slow, monitored introduction be made between them and the dog kept leashed for the first initial introductions. She should do well with a cat as she is fostered with two of them and also 2 pet rabbits. She will lay with the cats around the fireplace and all take a nap together so she would definitely suit a home with a cat. She can be an only pet in the home as long as she’s not left alone for long periods of time. Children should be aged 6yrs and up plus be loving, gentle and kind towards animals. She does require a fenced-in yard so she can be kept safe while she has a run around and play. HONEY BUNCH, like all puppies, is cute, playful and fun but also require a lot of time, patience and dedication to training. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.GALAXY hails from a Southern community in Ontario and came into the rescue with his 3 siblings, Milky Bar, Bournville and Dairy Milk. They came into Rescue on the Easter weekend so they received the litter name of the  “Chocolates’s” and this little guy is now looking for his forever home. He’s had his 2 sets of puppy vaccines, a microchip, “Interceptor Plus” dewormer and been deemed a healthy boy by his vet. We do have a picture of his mum and she looks like a Border Collie mix but we have no info on dad. Seeing as he comes from a community with lots of strays he no doubt has many different breeds in him and they could additionally include Boxer, black Lab and even Husky. We really have no idea on the size he’ll grow to be so the size we have in this post is just a guess. He’s a very unique looking little guy and wherever he’s taken people ask “what breed is he” and the reply is “what does he look like to you?” That’s kind of where some of those breeds listed came from too. He’s very much a snuggle bunny and loves to be close to his people and nap in their lap. He really loves to socialize with people and run up to them with his tail just a wagging to greet them. He loves to play hard and run around with his toys and then he’ll just crash and take a nice long nap. He’s super smart and picks up things so quickly and is always looking to  GALAXY is crate trained and it took all of two nights to have him fully trained in one as he’s a very smart boy. He’ll sleep quietly in it at night but in the day he does fuss going in but will eventually settle down and will take a nap in there. House training is still a work in progress as he’s only just started to learn to go to the bathroom outside but he is very good at doing his Poop outside now and will usually go after each of his 3 meals a day. He’s only had short walks on his property so far and like all puppies, he will excited run ahead of you and want to pull ahead of you also. He’s walked while wearing a harness that’s attached to his collar for safety and to stop any pulling around his neck. Due to teething, he’s at a chewing stage and needs lots of chewy toys to satisfy that urge not to chew on anything that he shouldn’t. He really loves to chew on a Nyla bone to keep those little teeth busy too. He’s starting to learn a couple of basic commands already such as “sit” for his meals and treats  and to take them “gentle.” GALAXY’s ideal family would be an active one who loves the outdoors, going on hikes, walks and will take him on adventures with them. He really loves to go in a vehicle and will just snuggle into his blanket that’s in his crate and quietly enjoy being driven around. It should be noted that he seems to be a very dominant boy and not all dogs have taken well to him behaving like that. He’s moved from 2 different foster homes due to an adult dog in each home not happy to share their space with him or put up with his dominant behaviour. Being so young he doesn’t seem to pick up when they try to correct him and he just keeps right on being annoying to them. Saying that, he’s now in a foster home with 3 dogs and they’re all doing great and playing just fine together with no issues at all. There is a picture posted of him with a Golden Retriever and they got along really well in his one foster home too but one of the others just didn’t want anything to do with him. So a dog in his new home should be on the dominant side just like him and be able to firmly keep him from becoming too pushy. He has a cat in his foster home and all he’ll do is stare at her and the cat isn’t interested in engaging with him at this stage. If there’s a cat in his new home then it should be a dog savvy one and a slow, monitored introduction should be made between them. He loves to run around and play outside where he’ll chase a ball around and run with a toy in his mouth so he does require a fenced in yard. He was at one point fostered with a child and he very much enjoyed his playtime with her but children should be aged 6 and up plus be gentle, kind and loving towards animals.  GALAXY, like all puppies is a cute, playful and fun puppy but he’ll also require a lot of time, patience and dedication to training. In his case, we 100% need his adopter to take him to puppy/obedience training to help him become well socialized with other dogs and to become a good, well mannered puppy. His neuter is included in his adoption fee and his potential adopter must be in agreement to have his neuter performed by the time he’s 9 months of age or 60lbs (which ever comes first.) It will be at the Barrie SPCA but you can use your own vet and we’ll reimburse you what we would’ve paid for it there. However his neuter will still have to be performed in the above timeframe for the reimbursement and we’ll need a copy of the procedure invoice and an updated photo of him (preferably in a cone after the surgery.) The photo will be put on our fb page along with other animals that were spay/neutered that same week. If GALAXY sounds like he’d suit your home and lifestyle plus you have the experience for him then please submit an adoption application to meet him.      Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 24, 2026, 11:51 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.LUMINOX hails from the Northern community of Poplar Hill and came south along with her 4 puppies to find living homes. She was a loving, attentive mum and now she deserves to get that loving family she’s always dreamed of. She’s spayed, vaccinated including rabies, microchipped and been deemed a healthy girl by her vet. We can definitely see the Husky in her but not so much the Lab but she does have the loving, soft nature of one. So basically the breeds are just our assumption and she probably has many more in her too. She’s a bit under weight so could still do with gaining a few pounds which she should now seeing as she’s no longer nursing her puppies. She’s a sweet girl who just wants snuggles, toys and food. She loves her people and will be their shadow and follow them room-to-room because she doesn’t want to lose sight of them. Belly rubs? Did someone say belly rubs? This girl absolutely loves them and when she has her fosters full attention, she’ll then flop onto the floor and roll over so she can get that full-on belly rub.   LUMINOX is crate trained and will sleep well in it at night but not such a fan of it in the daytime so she is kept in a secure room and will settle down f er right away. She does well on her walks but we do not recommend anytime soon that she be off leash until her new owner is well acquainted with her and she’s very trusting of them. She’s housetrained and will let you know when she has to go outside for a bathroom break. She loves her belly rubs and will lean into her foster to let her know she wants them and when she gets their full attention she’ll then flop on the floor for her to give them. She loves to be in the water and she’ll run into it at full tilt and then lay down in it especially after a nice long walk in the woods. She enjoys car rides but sometimes needs bit of a boost to get her in there. She has the funniest quirk of when she’s going somewhere she’ll flop on the ground and go limp. However, she’s fine to be picked up and her smaller size makes it easier to manoeuvre her. She’ll do this sometimes at night when it’s bedtime and time to get her into her crate. She does this as she’d much rather stay with her people and she envisions herself lying on the bed rather than in the crate. She’s well socialized with dogs of all sizes and a lot of different breeds and she also has 2 of them in her foster home. They walk and play well together and love to burn off energy by playing chase in the back yard. She does have a prey drive so we’re saying no cats or critters in her new home. She’s only met children aged 10 plus and did very well with them so we are recommending they should be over the age of 10yrs and be gentle and loving towards animals.  LUMINOX loves to play with toys especially the squeaky ones. She has to be monitored with them though as she’ll chew through them pretty quick to get at that squeaker. So we’re recommending the toughest toys for her like the Kong brand and Nyla bones to chew on. She’s very food motivated so it’s very easy to teach new tricks and commands with treats. She already knows sit, paw, down, come and stay to name a few. Although she already knows these commands we do strongly recommend that her new owner take her to obedience/training school and it’s also a great way for her owner to bond with her. She’s great at sniffing out kibble too and has raided her kibble bin a couple of times so food should be kept well out of her reach. She doesn’t show any signs of  resource guarding with people when it comes to food or toys and they can safely be taken from her. She does require a fenced in yard and one that is secure as she’ll go on a mission to find gaps in it and try to escape. She does have a prey drive so  absolutely no cats or small critters in the home for her. She does chase after bunnies and other critters and one time she did manage to catch a bunny and it unfortunately didn’t survive.  If LUMINOX sounds like she’d fit into your home then please submit an adoption application to meet her.    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 7, 2026, 10:07 pm
