Story
Rocky is a lovable boy who lives in the moment. He is a goofy but challenging pup who pushes every limit he can! He will need a firm, patient owner who will set boundaries and consistently stand by them. He is looking for a forever home that has some experience with the food motivated lab and stubborn mastiff. He is a powerful puller on leash and does best with a harness. He likes car rides and is crate trained. Due to his size, it's recommended that children in the home be 10 and older. He will chase the kitties in his foster home, so a dog savvy or no kitties is best. He is up to date with his vaccines, flea and tick treated, Heartworm negative, microchipped, and neutered. His adoption fee is $500. You must be 21 years old to adopt and provide vet and personal references. An application to adopt him can be found on our website www.oxfordcountyanimalrescue.com. Click on Adopt, then Dogs for Adoption and scroll to the bottom of the page. All applications are reviewed, and if we feel you might be a good fit for him, you will be contacted to arrange a home visit as well as for permission to speak with your vet. Repeated phone calls and emails with not advance your application. We are a volunteer, foster based rescue and there is no opportunity to meet him before an application has been approved. We thankyou for respecting these guidelines.

Story
Ranger is vocal and loves to tell you about his day and then tell you again! He loves to be pet and looks at a gate as a challenge, not a barrier. He can be stubborn and defiant, so a strong Alpha owner is needed or he will take control. He is a powerful puller on leash, so a harness is best. He likes car rides and is crate trained. He is looking for a forever home that has some experience with the food motivated lab and stubborn mastiff. Due to his size and strength, older children are best. He has a great smile, and will show all his teeth when he is happy or nervous. He is up to date with his vaccines, flea and tick treated, microchipped, Heartworm negative and is neutered. His adoption fee is $500. You must be 21 years old to adopt and provide vet and personal references. An application to adopt him can be found on our website www.oxfordcountyanimalrescue.com. Story
Max is a 2 year Bernadoodle. From a puppy Max has been anxious of new people and environments. Once he is comfortable he forms strong bonds with adults and older teens who respect his space. Max is highly sensitive to fast movements and unfamiliar people but once comfortable he is loving and affectionate. Max needs slow, gentle introductions to new people and prefers routine and predictable structure. He responds well to positive reinforcement. Max is especially nervous around young children due to their energy and unpredictability. He requires distance and supervision when young children are present and is best suited for an adults only home. Max ideal home would be adults only or older teens, someone who is experienced with dogs and understands anxiety. Despite his worries, Max has a huge heart. Once he trusts you, he becomes deeply loyal, gentle, and eager to please. His progress may be gradual, but he’s the kind of companion who blossoms beautifully in the right environment

Story
Jenni Fostered in North Bay Adoption fee: $700 Vaccinated & Spayed Microchipped 2 Years old Hi everyone! My name is Jenni and I’m a beautiful Baladi girl full of spunk and energy. My favorite things to do are play with my foster sister, chew on bones and toys, and spending as much time as possible outside. I love having a large yard as my zoomies are epic! I am working very hard on my recall and some basic commands. I am also working on my leash manners because I just want to go everywhere and smell everything but I promise I am getting better with all these new things my foster parents are doing with me. I am very food motivated and I love food puzzles. I am really good at solving them too! I do love rope toys to tug with and I may start tugging on your clothes to get you to play with me. Grab a rope and I’ll tug you off your chair. I am fully housetrained and crate trained. I also am really good at not fighting over my kibble; my doggy sister and I eat side by side and switch bowls all the time with no issues. My foster parents have always made sure to play with me while I am eating to make sure I don’t have any agression that way; however, human food is my weakness and I like to counter surf and try to steal food off the plates! I am working on that and doing really well but I still need to be watched or your food will be mine. I am a typical Baladi dog and I love to bark at the world! If you don’t know a lot about us Baladis, please read up about the breed. I am intelligent, athletic, loyal and protective. I absolutely love my humans. Like most Baladi dogs, I need a dog friend and a big yard to run and play. I think I’d prefer a boy that’s around my size (or bigger) so my rough play style doesn’t scare or hurt them. I am okay with new people coming into the house as long they are calm and allow me time to settle down. I will bark but give me a few minutes and maybe some of my favorite treats and I will be friends with you. I love car rides when I’m free but don’t like to be locked in a crate. My foster parents love taking me for walks through the doggy stores and I behave well in them. I will even going up and sniff new people with little hesitation. I haven’t spent much time around kids lately, but am no stranger with them.

Scooby💙 Fostered in Hamilton 10 month old male/neutered Adoption fee $500 Lab mix Re-introducing Scooby! I’m a certified handsome Rez dog 😏 and I’m on the lookout for my forever home!🥰 I LOVE going on walks with my foster family (especially with the kiddos!), and I’m also a fan of hanging out with my doggie buddies. I don’t pull too much on walks, but I’m still perfecting my "calm and collected" walking style. Scooby is neutered, microchipped, housetrained, leash trained and up to date on his vaccines. Scooby is a sweet and eager-to-please rescue pup who’s made great strides in his journey and is still waiting his perfect forever home. This smart boy has learned to sit, shake paw, and even lay down when his hips are feeling up to it. He’s especially treat-motivated—just say “wanna treat?” and he’ll come running! 🏃🏼‍♀️ Scooby is still working on some puppy habits, like chewing, so his new family will need to keep things out of reach and continue with positive reinforcement. But he’s come a long way and shows so much potential with guidance and love 💕 If you're looking for a clever, affectionate companion who’s learning more every day, Scooby is 1000% your perfect match.

Story
Kurt Fostered in London, ON Approx 11 weeks old Vaccinated, dewormed & microchipped Adoption Fee: $700 (includes $200 reimbursed after neuter) Mixed Breed (maybe larger...our best guess) Kurt and his siblings are all from a local reservation and we are unknown of their true breed as it could be so many. Kurt is a sweet, smart, and affectionate pup who loves being close to his people. He’s happy to curl up beside you for cuddles after a bit of play and enjoys feeling included in everyday life. He’s already learning his basics like sit and no, is doing very well with crate training, and is making great progress with house training. Kurt is in his puppy chewing phase but redirects easily to toys and is eager to please. Kurt does wonderfully with other dogs and especially loves his larger foster brother, who helps boost his confidence. He is also cat-friendly and respectful around them. He may be a little shy when first meeting new people, but once he warms up, he becomes a loving, loyal little shadow who just wants to be near you. Kurt would thrive in a home that can offer patience, continued training, and lots of love — and he’d be happy with another dog or as a devoted solo companion. This smart, gentle boy is ready to find his forever family, could it be with you?
