Story
*** Nova's adoption fee has been reduced by 75% to help find her the best home***I'm a striking large mix breed with a coat that gleams like the night sky - hence the name Nova. Full of life and energy, I'm ready to embark on adventures with a family who can match my zest for life.~ Nova needs a home with a single person, couple, or family with teenaged children.~ I would thrive in a home with space where I can burn off my energy and express myself. An understanding family who can spend quality time with me and provide the mental and physical stimulation I need would be ideal.~ I do have some specific needs that my future family should be aware of. I have a tendency to resource guard my toys and food, so a family experienced in managing this behavior would be ideal. I'll flourish in a home where my boundaries are respected, and positive reinforcement is used to guide me.~ My ideal forever family will sign me up for training to help me become the best girl around.~ I'm not a fan of female dogs, so I'm looking to be the only female canine star of your home. I do best with friendly puppy like/male dogs. Additionally, my high prey drive makes it challenging for me to coexist with cats and small animals, so a cat-free environment is a must.~ It's important to note that I have Lyme disease. I'm not symptomatic for Lyme disease but the team here at the center recommends consulting with your vet prior to adopting me.If you're up for the challenge and joy of bringing Nova into your life, contact us and ask for more information about the adoption process. I can't wait to meet my special family and embark on a new chapter filled with love and adventure.NOTE:**For more information on any behaviours stated above, please check out our behaviour fact sheet: https://kwsphumane.ca/BehavioursandDefinitions**Please remember that animals are coming back from foster care to the centres for their meet and greets. They will be experiencing a new environment and meeting new people, which means they may not exhibit the same behaviours they did in their foster videos or while in foster care.If you are viewing this animal through 24Petconnect by PetPlace or Adopt-a-pet, please visit our website https://kwsphumane.ca/adopt/process to submit an application. *** Skipper's adoption fee has been reduced by 75% to help find him the best home***Skipper is a handsome and high-energy large breed dog, ready to embark on a new adventure with his forever family. This spirited pup is seeking a home with adults who can match his enthusiasm and provide the active lifestyle he craves.~ Skipper is looking for a home with a single person, couple, or a family without kids under 18.~ Skipper is a bundle of energy and loves to play fetch. In fact, he's a pro at it! His favorite pastime is chasing after balls, making him the perfect companion for someone who enjoys an active lifestyle. However, Skipper can be a bit jumpy and mouthy, so a home with adults only would be ideal.~ It's important to note that Skipper has resource guarding tendencies, especially when it comes to his beloved balls. Understanding his needs and providing a consistent environment will be crucial in helping him overcome this behavior. Due to his prey drive, Skipper would do best in a home without small animals or cats.~ Skipper came to us as a stray with an unusual gait, and further diagnostics revealed that he had multiple healed fractures. Although these past injuries don't currently affect him, we recommend potential adopters to review his vet records and consult with their vet for a better understanding of his health.~ Skipper is looking for a home where he is the only animal in the home as he doesn't like other dogs or cats. Skipper doesn't like to share items with others dogs and can be vocal towards them.~ To ensure Skipper continues to thrive and be the best boy he can be, he will need two in-person mandatory training sessions. This will not only strengthen the bond between Skipper and his new family but also help address any behavioral challenges.~ Skipper is looking for a home with a yard, as he loves to run and play. An apartment setting is not be the best fit for him, given his high energy levels. A secure and spacious outdoor area will allow Skipper to indulge in his favorite game of fetch. If you're ready to provide Skipper with the love, attention, and exercise he needs, and if you're willing to invest in his ongoing training, he could be the perfect addition to your family. Submit an application for Skipper and discover the joy of having an energetic and playful companion by your side!**For more information on any behaviours stated above, please check out our behaviour factsheet: https://kwsphumane.ca/BehavioursandDefinitions**Please remember that animals are coming back from foster care to the centres for their meetand greets. ***Lavender's adoption fee has been reduced by 50% to help her find the best home***Are you ready to welcome a bundle of energy and enthusiasm into your life? Lavender is here to add a splash of joy and adventure to your days! Lavender is a beautiful large breed mix with a heart as big as her size. She's on the lookout for a loving forever home where she can thrive and grow with a dedicated family.~ At first glance, Lavender's energy might be mistaken for boundless exuberance, but beneath her lively exterior lies a dog with a keen intellect and a strong desire to learn. She's always eager to embark on new adventures and engage in exciting activities. Whether it's learning new tricks, going for long walks, or exploring the great outdoors, Lavender is your perfect companion.~ Lavender is best suited to a home where she can be the center of attention. She prefers to be the only canine (No other dogs) friend in the household, as she can be reactive around other dogs. With your undivided attention, Lavender will flourish and shower you with unconditional love and loyalty.~ Due to Lavender's high energy levels and her tendency to be a bit jumpy and mouthy, she would do best in a home with older children, aged 16 years and above. Lavender is working diligently on her manners and impulse control and is making great progress. With consistent training and positive reinforcement, she's learning to be the best version of herself.~ It's important to note that Lavender does exhibit some resource guarding behavior around food and toys. However, she's quickly learning commands like "leave it" and "drop it," showing her willingness to improve and adapt. With patience and understanding, Lavender will continue to thrive in a supportive environment.~ Another thing to consider is Lavender's vocal nature. She tends to bark, especially when she encounters other dogs. Therefore, a house would be ideal for her (No apartments)~ To ensure Lavender reaches her full potential, we require that her new family commits to at least one in person mandatory training session or through a Goodpup scholarship. This will help Lavender build on her skills and strengthen the bond between her and her new family. If you're ready to open your heart and home to Lavender and provide her with the love and care she deserves, please don't hesitate to reach out. Lavender can't wait to meet her forever family and embark on this new chapter of her life filled with love, laughter, and endless adventures! **For more information on any behaviours stated above, please check out our behaviour factsheet: https://kwsphumane.ca/BehavioursandDefinitions**Please remember that animals are coming back from foster care to the centres for their meetand greets.
