Max is a 2 year Bernadoodle. From a puppy Max has been anxious of new people and environments. Once he is comfortable he forms strong bonds with adults and older teens who respect his space. Max is sensitive to unfamiliar people but once comfortable he is loving and affectionate. Max needs slow, gentle introductions to new people and prefers routine and predictable structure. He responds well to positive reinforcement. Max is especially nervous around young children due to their energy and unpredictability. He requires distance and supervision when young children are present and is best suited for an adults only home. Max ideal home would be adults only or older teens, someone who is experienced with dogs and understands anxiety. Despite his worries, Max has a huge heart. Once he trusts you, he becomes deeply loyal, gentle, and eager to please. His progress may be gradual, but he’s the kind of companion who blossoms beautifully in the right environment

Rocky is a lovable boy who lives in the moment. He is a goofy but challenging pup who pushes every limit he can! He will need a firm, patient owner who will set boundaries and consistently stand by them. He is looking for a forever home that has some experience with the food motivated lab and stubborn mastiff. He is a powerful puller on leash and does best with a harness. He likes car rides and is crate trained. Due to his size, it's recommended that children in the home be 10 and older. He will chase the kitties in his foster home, so a dog savvy or no kitties is best. He is up to date with his vaccines, flea and tick treated, Heartworm negative, microchipped, and neutered. His adoption fee is $500. You must be 21 years old to adopt and provide vet and personal references. An application to adopt him can be found on our website www.oxfordcountyanimalrescue.com. All applications are reviewed, and if we feel you might be a good fit for him, you will be contacted to arrange a home visit as well as for permission to speak with your vet. Ranger is vocal and loves to tell you about his day and then tell you again! He loves to be pet and looks at a gate as a challenge, not a barrier. He can be stubborn and defiant, so a strong Alpha owner is needed or he will take control. He is a powerful puller on leash, so a harness is best. He likes car rides and is crate trained. He is looking for a forever home that has some experience with the food motivated lab and stubborn mastiff. Due to his size and strength, older children are best. He has a great smile, and will show all his teeth when he is happy or nervous. He is up to date with his vaccines, flea and tick treated, microchipped, Heartworm negative and is neutered. MightyMike is a social, quick-learning 4-month old husky mix who loves people, toys, fumbling over his own feet, and napping. Brought in with his two brothers, MightyMike is great at playing with fellow puppy friends & would make a good younger brother to a home with fellow dogs. He learns exceptionally quick, already mastering the game of fetch, and has been working hard on “sit,” “stay,” “crate,” and “bed”. He’s fairly good on a leash and we have no doubt he’ll be a pro in no time with continued motivation through snacks and praise!He continues to work on his potty training, and does well with a routine, but he is still a puppy and accidents can be expected. He likes sleeping in his crate at night, and settles in quickly, but his favourite spot for an afternoon snooze is his plush bed. Although he’s a husky mix, he is not a huge fan of the cold weather & would much rather be inside curled up with his people in a warm spot. He will go on a winter walk, but encourages you to keep it brief, and is most enthusiastic when home is within sight! MightyMike would make a great adventure buddy, brother, and cuddle partner for anyone looking for a goofy little companion.

Lunatomiti was adopted as a youngster but has found his way back to the shelter due to his active behaviour and the owners limited time to help him. He has been in one of our foster homes with experience in training their pups and has proven to be a quick study. He has lots to do and other animals to play with so at the end of the day he loves to cuddle and rest.Are you ready for the story of these young one`s lives. In eight weeks, they have been to more homes, have had meds and been fed the best however, we do hope we made up for momma dog’s attention.Mom and Babies were doing well but when pups were about 2 weeks old, mom got mastitis and was quite ill with it. 2 days after the emergency visit and keeping cabbage compresses on her, only letting 6 pups suck on mom at a time the abscesses broke open and mom had 2 holes way bigger than toonies and very deep. Cleaning, flushing, and packing, we knew we needed to keep the wounds clean and we started supplementing the babies. During this time, the male dog in the house went for neuter and 2 days later came down with kennel cough. At 4 weeks, we started vaccinating, but realized Puppies, one by one taking sick and were diagnosed with mycoplasma (pneumonia). We moved them into other foster homes, by 3 or 4 and treated with 10 days of doxy, supplementing their feeding regime with formula and they started eating Royal Canin baby dog kibble almost immediately.Once they were better, we then started to get them vaccinated, spayed/neutered and they were very ready for adoption.Their breed Mom is American Bulldog Mix, Dad is Chocolate Lab, Boxerhttps://ws.petango.com/webservices/adoptablesearch/wsAdoptableAnimalDetails2.aspx?id=2000237681&css=&authkey=y1f3e5se6ktgqh23k5g6ql7ku8loa35g27b2kugpias7o6r5a2&PopUp=true
