Max is a 2 year Bernadoodle. From a puppy Max has been anxious of new people and environments. Once he is comfortable he forms strong bonds with adults and older teens who respect his space. Max is sensitive to unfamiliar people but once comfortable he is loving and affectionate. Max needs slow, gentle introductions to new people and prefers routine and predictable structure. He responds well to positive reinforcement. Max is especially nervous around young children due to their energy and unpredictability. He requires distance and supervision when young children are present and is best suited for an adults only home. Max ideal home would be adults only or older teens, someone who is experienced with dogs and understands anxiety. Despite his worries, Max has a huge heart. Once he trusts you, he becomes deeply loyal, gentle, and eager to please. His progress may be gradual, but he’s the kind of companion who blossoms beautifully in the right environment

Rocky is a lovable boy who lives in the moment. He is a goofy but challenging pup who pushes every limit he can! He will need a firm, patient owner who will set boundaries and consistently stand by them. He is looking for a forever home that has some experience with the food motivated lab and stubborn mastiff. He is a powerful puller on leash and does best with a harness. He likes car rides and is crate trained. Due to his size, it's recommended that children in the home be 10 and older. He will chase the kitties in his foster home, so a dog savvy or no kitties is best. He is up to date with his vaccines, flea and tick treated, Heartworm negative, microchipped, and neutered. His adoption fee is $500. You must be 21 years old to adopt and provide vet and personal references. An application to adopt him can be found on our website www.oxfordcountyanimalrescue.com. Click on Adopt, then Dogs for Adoption and scroll to the bottom of the page. All applications are reviewed, and if we feel you might be a good fit for him, you will be contacted to arrange a home visit as well as for permission to speak with your vet. Mikey (MichaelJackson) is a social, quick-learning 4-month old husky mix who loves people, toys, fumbling over his own feet, and napping. Brought in with his two brothers, Mikey is great at playing with fellow puppy friends & would make a good younger brother to a home with fellow dogs. He learns exceptionally quick, already mastering the game of fetch, and has been working hard on “sit,” “stay,” “crate,” and “bed”. He’s fairly good on a leash and we have no doubt he’ll be a pro in no time with continued motivation through snacks and praise!He continues to work on his potty training, and does well with a routine, but he is still a puppy and accidents can be expected. He likes sleeping in his crate at night, and settles in quickly, but his favourite spot for an afternoon snooze is his plush bed. Although he’s a husky mix, he is not a huge fan of the cold weather & would much rather be inside curled up with his people in a warm spot. He will go on a winter walk, but encourages you to keep it brief, and is most enthusiastic when home is within sight! Mikey would make a great adventure buddy, brother, and cuddle partner for anyone looking for a goofy little companion.

QuarryDotty did get adopted as a puppy but her owner has some health issues that he found overwhelming with a large puppy. She needs large open space to run, and he could not run with her For those of you who don`t know me, let me introduce myself.... My name is Dotty. I am a puppy who only sleeps on the comfiest of beds which right now is my foster moms, I`ve even taken the spot of my foster sisters spot on mom`s bed! I love all the toys I have and I don`t like to share but I will if I have to. I also love letting you know when I`m not happy with something... Like you trying to move me from my spot. I love helping foster mom with the chickens and could be really useful with the right training.Now don`t let the pink bows fool you. I love getting dirty and putting my nose to the ground to find out what new kind of furry animal ran into the yard. My sniffer is excellent and I can definitely tell when your trying to hide yummy food from me. I will be about 40 to 50lbs and in this home that definitely makes me the smallest.To find out more info please message my foster mom. I am through the Simcoe and District Humane SocietyPlease help spread the word to get me into a real home with a bed that I don`t have to share!
