Story
Meet Ena 🐾💕
Ena is a smart, happy and playful girl who is discovering just how wonderful life as an indoor dog can be — and she’s embracing every minute of it!
This clever girl loves figuring things out for herself, whether it’s conquering a food puzzle, finding the perfect place to nap, or conducting a very thorough inspection of the kitchen counters to make sure no snacks were accidentally left behind. 😉 Ena spends her days chewing on toys, playing tug-of-war with her foster sister and new bestie Stella, and enjoying some well-earned naps.
Ena is playful, affectionate and eager to please. She loves her foster mom and will climb into her lap a few times a day for a little reassurance and affection before happily finding her own spot to relax. When foster mom comes home, however, all bets are off — Ena gets SO excited that personal space temporarily ceases to exist! 😂
She gets along wonderfully with the dogs in her foster home and has been indifferent to the resident cats. She doesn't require another dog in her forever home, but could certainly enjoy having a canine friend. Ena currently lives with teenagers and does well with them, although she hasn't yet been tested with younger children.
Like any girl adjusting to a whole new way of life, Ena is still learning her manners. Housetraining and crate training are works in progress, and she’s learning what is — and definitely is not — appropriate to chew. Counter surfing is also on her current list of hobbies, so her forever family will need to keep working on those good-girl skills.
Walks are another new adventure. Ena is learning how this whole leash thing works and seems to be thinking, “Wait… I’m attached to you, but I can still walk around?!” She can be shy when meeting new people and a little unsure around unfamiliar dogs, but she is not aggressive and continues to gain confidence.
🏡 Ena's ideal forever home:
An average/moderately active household that will give her structure, patience, playtime and plenty of opportunities to keep that clever brain busy. A fenced yard isn't considered a requirement, and she may be suitable for apartment or attached living. Another dog is welcome but not required.
Most importantly, Ena needs a family who understands that she is still learning. Underneath those work-in-progress manners is an incredibly smart, loving, playful girl who wants to please her people and is absolutely thrilled about this new chapter of her life.
Ena has discovered that being a family dog is pretty amazing. Now she just needs to find the family she gets to call her own. ❤️🐾
