Story
File #25-064 Current Foster Location: Brockville, ON *Please note that we do not typically adopt outside of a 2 hour radius from the foster dogs current location* Ill launch into your arms like a kangaroo missilethen get ready for nonstop kisses. Give me a crate to chill in and a squeaky toy, and Im happy. Im not a fan of cats, but I do like kidsespecially the ones over 10, because theyre smart enough to know boundaries but still drop crumbs. Id like a patient, experienced human who knows Im the love of their life. A confident male dog buddy who respects my spotlight would be a plus. Ready for this kangaroo-like, kissing furball? File #25-130Current Foster Location: Merrickville, ON *Please note that we do not typically adopt outside of a 2 hour radius from the foster dogs current location* Hi, Im Heartsy! My hobbies include: cuddling, snuggling, staying close to my person, and more cuddling. Im a quiet little lovebug as long as youre home otherwise, I get a little anxious and will bark if Im left alone. I just really like being near my hoomans, okay? If youre working or busy, Ill still lie down close by like a loyal little marshmallow. But the second you walk in the door? I come running, ears bouncing, full of love and joy. I look you right in the eyes like a cheesy rom-com moment and yes, your heart will melt. Im fully housetrained and good with other small and medium dogs. Big dogs? Not sure yet. But one thing I do know: Im only looking for a forever home that includes my sister, Q-Tip. Were two halves of the same snuggly, barky, adorable whole. File #25-165Current Foster Location: Calabogie, ON *Please note that we do not typically adopt outside of a 2 hour radius from the foster dogs current location* Ms. Frizzle is Heartworm Positive, she is undergoing treatment and the cost of this treatment will be fully covered by the rescue, even after her adoption, until she gets the clear that she is heartworm free! Ms. Frizzle is not suited for apartment living. Hi, Im Ms. Frizzle and yes, my ears are absolutely as amazing as they look. Im a gentle, polite lady whos fully housetrained and big on listening. Im still building my confidence, especially around other dogs. Loud, bouncy types? No thank you. But if youve got a calm, stable dog who wouldnt mind showing me the ropes, I think Id really blossom. Im curious and gentle with cats too though I might chase one if it makes a run for it. Cuddles? Yes, please. Compliments? Ill take those too. I just need a calm, patient human wholl help me find my brave. Please visit our website www.ittakesavillagedogrescue.com to learn more about this amazing dog and to see other available dogs.

Story
File #25-056Current Foster Location: Kinburn, ON *Please note that we do not typically adopt outside of a 2 hour radius from the foster dogs current location* Hi. Um hi. Im Skittles, and this is a lot of attention. But okay. Here we go. If you're looking for a dog who loves hard and lives loud... it's not me. Yet. Im still figuring out how to dog. Loud noises? Suspicious. Sudden movements? Suspicious. People? Definitely suspicious. Dogs are my jam. I didnt always know thatwhen I first got here, I avoided the resident dogs like they were vacuum cleaners. But now? I am the vacuum. I chase ankles. I instigate tug-of-war. I yell at them until they play with me. Im basically the annoying little sister no one asked for, but kinda starts to love anyway. Having a confident dog in my forever home is non-negotiable. I need them to help me feel safe, teach me the ropes, and join me in my favourite game: Drag The Pool Across The Lawn Until the Human Gets the Hint. When Im not splashing in my kiddie pool or playing bitey-face with my foster brothers, youll find me napping in my crate (my happy place). I love my crate. Its where I feel safest. Speaking of humans: I'm not ready to be cuddled or pet or smothered with affection. I might sniff you. I might steal a toy near you. I might even lurk behind you in the yard like a very awkward shadow. Also, no kids for me, please. Id panic if one zoomed past or yelled, "TAG!" or sneezed too loudly. Im on anxiety meds and will continue to need them in my new house. I need a calm, patient adult or two who understand that trust is earned, not expected. I dont do walks yet. Leashes are terrifying, and I will straight-up bolt if I panic. My ideal castle includes a securely fenced yard with easy access where I can play safely, bark joyfully, and maybe chase a garden snake or two. So yeah, probably no cats in my home either. I appear to have a bit of a prey drive. I know Im not for everyone. But maybe Im for you. Someone whos patient. Someone who understands that healing takes time. Someone with another dog who wouldnt mind sharing their pool. So if youve got a quiet home, a big heart, and a willingness to celebrate small victories (like me taking a treat from your hand without sprinting away), I might be your girl. Apply to adopt me, and we can live quietly ever after. Please visit our website www.ittakesavillagedogrescue.com to learn more about this amazing dog and to see other available dogs.
