Ginger is apx 8-10 years young , 10 pounds, and does not act like a senior dog. She does love her cuddles, blankets and nap time, but she has a lot of life in her and is full of love and curiosity. She loves being outside and following the humans around while they do their daily chores. Great with all animals and people and well mannered gentle children. Ginger is a cutie pie. She is really well mannered and has a good demeanor. She acclimates quickly to a new routine and new people. Ginger is her original name . Her human papa passed away and Ginger came to us. She is looking for her new family that help her heal and return to a loving family home that adores her . She did have a dental and lost a few teeth but still has plenty of cleaned pearly whites and fresh breath now 🙂 She is still learning leash and harness walking and is a little nervous trying this. She appears to have good potty manners and goes outdoors or on a wee pad Apply www.texaschihuahua.org Please read our Q&A on our we site for basic adoption questions

Butch aka Butchy aka Toby lol Butch is 4-5 years old and 16 pounds. His name is Butch, that is the name he came with however, for some reason, he really looks like a Toby to me and I always accidentally call him Toby or Toby Tobe , so now he knows both 😂 Butch’s mom had to be put in hospice care and he came to the rescue . He was an obese 20 pounds when he came here but now is down to 16.5 , 13-15 would be a good weight for him. Butch is scared of everything. He is afraid of his own shadow. He was terrified when he first got here but never aggressive. You can pick him up but he does not ask for it nor does he has for attention or bid for your love. He hides most days under a shelf on a bed we made him and he lets you pet him but he just freezes when you do, although recently when I pet him he is at-least less stiff and maybe in 2-3 more weeks he will actually pretend to enjoy it . Poor Butch had a sheltered life and was under socialized, but that was the only life he knew, so coming here he was very shut down. But recently, when we’re not watching him and we spy on him through the window, he does lay with the other dogs and kind of princes around and seems pretty relaxed. he likes to go outside, but does not really want to be out there with you. He basically acts like a feral dog, but never shows any sign of aggression and he is very much like having a cat. He will use the pee pads or go outside. He must have a fenced yard. He does not understand walking on a leash. He also does not actually run from you. He will just sit there and freeze and let you pick him up but sometimes he will nervous pee if he does not know the person picking him up .. it took him about two weeks with me to stop peeing on me, but he did, thankfully. He never barks or fusses or whines or cries. We have never heard a peep from him. He will tolerate baths and nails and ears but does not enjoy it, again he just freezes terrified. He sun bathes with his friends when it is warm. He sleeps a lot. He is a cat dog. But I do think once he is in a home and gets used to that new home with his new people, he will relax a lot, and will be a loving part of the family. It is just going to take a lot of time and patience. He has beautiful eyes and a beautiful rare chocolate Merle coat. He needs a patient and loving adopter that will just give him the time he needs to grieve, acclimate, and adjust. Gentle hands and soft voices. He is great with all other animals and he has never met kids but I think would be fine with older kids, he has zero aggression, but would be terrified of a toddler. He just needs time. I believe in him and I hope someone else out there will too. 💜

Lindy whom looks like a little fox, is the cutest little girl. We don’t know what breed of dog she is. Maybe some chi in there. She is currently 6 pounds and will probably be apx 20-25 pounds fully grown. She may not be a chihuahua but she acts like one. She can be both sweet and sassy. She acts like a darling baby angel for the humans , but in her puppy group she definitely shows some chi sass sometimes. She is a really loving and social girl. Lindy is great with animals and kids. She is going to be a really wonderful addition to a lucky family. Apply www.texaschihuahua.org Based in Pleasanton TX

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Piper Jo is a sweetheart that just wants a home of her own.  She is great with children and is a happy dog.  Piper would love a backyard to run freely in, time to sit on a porch with her people and watch the sunset along with a kid to sleep with! She is good with dogs and would do very well with one who is more dominate. She is NOT cat friendly. She is crate trained, loves car rides and loves to swim. Her favorite thing to do, is to run and play with others, and then, nap time! She is an easy going gal with the best snuggles and kisses to give. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Online Adoption Application August 7, 2025, 11:19 pm

Pryor is apx 4 months and 5 pounds on 01/26 He is a chi mix and we do not know with what. His mom is a chi mix and weighs 15 pounds. We are assuming he will be about 12-15 pounds. Pryor is shy at first but warms up quickly and has a silly and very sweet personality. He is funny and silly and it has really been cute watching him blossom every day and see his goofy side. He came to us very scared and was living outside. But now he is a funny , loving goody little boy and we all just love him. He can still be a bit timid with strangers but he comes around quickly to new people. He is going to be a great boy for someone. Great with cats, kids and dogs.
