Story
Meet old lady Rhoda! Rhoda is estimated to be 10 years old. She was found on the side of a busy highway hopping around like she'd been wandering for quite awhile. She was filthy, covered in fleas and ticks. She happily let us bathe her and get her all settled into a safe space. Rhoda has been vetted, current on all of her vaccines. She is heartworm positive and is undergoing slow kill treatment for it because of her age. Rhoda is dog, cat, and people friendly of all ages! She is leash trained and potty trained. We think Rhoda would thrive in a calm home environment. She doesn't require much, just a comfy bed to sleep on and lots and lots of belly rubs. Reach out to ask more questions or schedule a meet and greet! Don't make miss Rhoda wait too long!

Story
Meet the sweetest attention hog ever, Senora! She is a 4 year old Bulldog mix. Senora was pulled from a home where she was used for breeding. Her life was a small wire cage. No access to fresh food, water, or outside time. When Senora came to us she was covered in fleas, her ears and skin were badly infected, and she was infested with intestinal parasites. Today she lives a happy and healthy life! She is now leashed trained and potty trained. There are still many things about this world Senora does not know, but she is thrilled to learn. While Senora is dog friendly, she would thrive in a home as an only pet. She has been through so much in her 4 years of life and deserves to be the queen bee of the house!

Meet Dudley! Dudley was a street dump who made a brush pile his home. He was very fearful in the beginning and it took us multiple days to coax him out of his safe haven. With the help of some Churches Chicken we were able to slip a leash on him! After getting settled in to the rescue Dudley immediately blossomed into the sweetest and most playful boy! He had an unlimited amount of kisses to give and was so excited to play with the other pups here. Dudley is estimated to be 8 months old. He is dog friendly and people friendly of all ages! We are leash training and potty training currently and he is doing amazing. Dudley would do best in a home with another dog friend where he can let out his puppy energy! Cane Corso

Male, 3 yrs
San Antonio, TX
Size
(when grown) X-Large 101 lbs (46 kg) or more
Details
Not good with cats, Needs experienced adopter, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Hondo is a 3 year old Cane Corso. He was scheduled for euthanasia at 2 years old for resource guarding. After further investigation it was found that his previous owner had purchased him from a breeder as a puppy and offered no structure, no training. He became the large breed dog he was always going to be and his family became fearful of him. Based off of our initial meet with him, we could tell there was work that COULD be done to reverse this potential aggression. Since being in our care, Hondo has been offered training and basic structure and he is doing so well. He is incredibly people friendly, he walks great on a leash and a harness, he love to play fetch and tug of war. His resource guarding lies in his food. But, it is all about trust and constant structure. Hondo is a great man, loving and loyal. He needs an adopter who is experience and willing to give him the structure and training he needs. Hondo is potty trained and does amazing in a home environment.

San Antonio, TX
Size
(when grown) Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
Details
Good with dogs, Good with cats, Needs experienced adopter, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Meet Chavi the tripod! Chavi is a 2 year old border collie/lab mix. She was a street rescue that had a broken front leg, heartworms AND a litter of 8 newborn puppies. Chavi was very shy when she first arrived. It took weeks for her to trust anyone. During this time Chavi was never aggressive, just very scared. But, this resilient and brave girl allowed us to help her through weaning her puppies and help her heal from her front leg amputation. Chavi is now heartworm NEGATIVE, she loves having other dog friends, and she is cat friendly. Chavi would need an experienced adopter or an adopter that understands trust must be earned. Her whole life was running from bad people, now that she is comfortable, every so often she will come up for a head pat, but always on her terms. Chavi is a house-cat of a dog! Chavi is leash trained and potty trained. She would do best in a calm home with another pet! Reach out to learn more.
