Story
Hello, My name is Julie. I was surrendered to SFAAR by my owner. She had said that I was getting picked on by the resident cats & hiding a lot. Unfortunately with SFAAR I haven't adapted well. They've found I do best with no cats or just one that won't bother me. They have a feeling I was the trouble maker in the previous home. I have been extremely nervous & shy in my foster home. Its been about 6 months and am finally starting to come around. I'm looking for a cat experienced owner that understands I may hide, shy away from attention for awhile. Persistance & patience will pay off with me as I now follow my foster mom around and allow pets. I would not do well in a busy environment with a lot cats and definitely not kids(unless older). SFAAR is willing to adopt me into the right home that understands I may not be the purrfect companion to start but with a little patience & TLC I know I will do my best to show you how much I do appreciate you giving me a second chance at a forever home.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 25, 2024, 7:21 pm

Story
Tabitha is an interesting looking lady who's age is a total guess to us. She looks like she's older, but she doesn't act like a senior. So we don't really know what to think! Tabitha can be more on the independent side. But she still loves her humans and is an excellent alarm clock to remind you when dinner is. She LOVES wet food. If you open a cat of food, you can bet Tabitha will be running to the bowl as soon as she hears the lid crack! She loves getting her fur brushed, climbing her cat tree, chasing jingle balls across the floor, and investigating all areas of the house to see if anything new is happening. She has lived with dogs, cats, and kids in the past and did great with everyone! While in rescue, Tabitha received a dental check to make sure that her teeth are healthy, The vets also noted that she had a lump on her throat next to her trachea. Bloodwork was run and we had a cytology done on the lump which showed inflammation. So nothing crazy! But her future family should continue to monitor the lump to ensure it doesn't grow or change. Tabitha is fixed, microchipped, FIV/FeLV negative, and up to date on vaccinations for their age. Story
Hi everyone! This is Evie. She’s roughly five-six years old and I’m seeing if anyone is willing to be her forever home. She is a sweet loving girl that loves to cuddle and receive head rubs. She loves to climb onto your lap and make biscuits for a long long time and she loves to play with wand toys. She is more of an independent cat however doesn’t mind being around other animals (preferably cats only), but she is a shy one so it will take her a while to get comfortable around new furry friends. But once she opens up to a new cat, she becomes playful and loves to run around with her new furry friend. A more quiet and calm home is something that would fit her needs as she is very easy to spook and runs/hides from any loud noises. Disclosure: Evie does have underlying symptoms of FLUTD and will need an experienced owner that can financially provide for her. Questions and concerns will be answered after application is received.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee: $150 Lydia is a beautiful, petite, long hair brunette.  Like her namesake she is, herself, strange and usual.  She enjoys her indoor life, she is good with other cats, and she wants nothing to do with her human guardians.  If you can catch her you can pet her, she isn’t aggressive, but she will avoid you if at all possible.   She shows her appreciation for the food and shelter by not bothering you and being very pretty. Does your kitty need a friend?  Do you need a mouser?  Lydia’s best life is a quiet indoor home with regular meals and low expectations. My adoption fee covers distemper, rabies, FIV/ Feluek test, microchip and spay. Do you have room in you home and heart for me? Please fill out an application as I am waiting to meet you!  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    *The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called 'cute' as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification! Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.  *Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.  Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.   //

Story
Pumbaa is an adorable long hair tuxedo cat. He is an absolute people person and companion for anyone who loves a cuddle buddy. He is a model cat for Soona in Minneapolis, Minnesota and LOVES being pampered. Pumbaa is a high maintenance friend who will require daily brushing to prevent his long hair from knotting. His littler box must be clean for him to feel comfortable. He wants your attention and affection and will want to be played with daily often twice. Pumbaa is both an indoor and outdoor cat. He loves both but needs to be entertained twice daily if kept indoors for happiness. We adopted him from an abusive situation which left him abandoned for 2 weeks. Pumbaa uses his litter box regularly but if he is in distress or feels threatened his fear response is urinating in places he feels safe in. Pumbaa displays anxiety and meows when left alone but he will melt your heart when taken care of.
