Story
Hi, I'm Rupert. I'm from Minnesota. From the foster: Rupert is bold, affectionate and confident. He acclimates quickly to new places, he is a litterbox pro, and he is not timid or shy. He will introduce himself to all visitors, and especially loves to get close, and cuddle. He is recovering from dermatitis, and as a result does not love to be pet so much. It is better to let Rupert come to you. He likes to eat, and has been known to clean plates if left unattended ;). He does not like the vacuum cleaner, and gets spooked by strange sounds. He would do well with respectful children, however he does not like to be grabbed, and will let you know by using his mouth. He seems to have a sensitive stomach and sensitive skin. His ideal forever home would help him discover his environmental/food irritants so that he can avoid triggers, and relieve stress/ discomfort. Medical Bio: Hi! I'm Rupert, I came to TBB with a few medical concerns we needed to address. I had a grade 3/6 heart murmur and some concerns for my skin and coat health. The skin issues mainly related to previous dermatitis that is healing and some chin acne however no follow up should be needed if these conditions are stable. Shallow stainless steel or ceramic dishes will be best for me to eat from. An echocardiogram was pursued with a cardiology specialist who diagnosed the condition that causes the murmur as hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy. This means that the valves in the left atrium of my heart are functioning abnormally, however the size of my heart muscle is not enlarged at this time which is good news. I will be starting on heart medication and rechecks echocardiograms are recommended every 6 months at this time, but my future family should consult a primary care vet for future recommendations on any follow up care needed. Medications and additional rechecks beyond adoption will be the responsibility of my new purrever family! I can't wait to meet you!"

Story
Hi, my name is Tiabeanie and I'm bonded with Sir Pancho. From their foster: Poncho and Tia were very loved in their last home and, to no fault of their own, find themselves back with The Bond Between. Their transition was very sad and their ability to trust took a bit longer than other fosters. However, IT.IS.WORTH.THE.WAIT!!! Once they learn they are safe and can trust you, they are incredibly cuddly and playful! They are truly two very sweet siblings who will make a house a home given the chance. Tia seems more independent and adventurous at first. She prefers to snuggle on top you but not be picked up. Her brother Poncho is super happy snuggling AND being picked up and held. They play pretty hard together and love to chase up and down after each other, taking turns being the one to chase. They enjoy playing with toys and are very curious about their surroundings. A little chatty but not too much. Again, SUPER SWEET siblings that need to be adopted together!! These sweeties were an owner surrender which seems to have been especially tough on them. They each needed a lot more time (1-2 weeks) to have a safe place to be in the home while they adjusted. Once they felt safe, they came out on their own and never looked back! My hope is whoever adopts them (together) will understand it is just a matter of time very much needed and to be patient with them. Again, it's so worth the wait!

Story
Banshee is a great cat, but both her and my resident cat want to be the center of our attention and have a hard time sharing that spotlight. It has been 4 months and my previous cat is starting to stress pee because she won’t share the love. They can be in the same room, cuddling me separately and still be fine until my resident cat decides she’s done sharing. Banshee is around 2 years old, we named her because she is a stress screamer. She is very vocal about her needs and what you can do to help her. She is so affectionate, loves to cuddle and being scratched on her head/neck. She purrs almost whenever you touch her, and I can always get her to calm by holding her and petting her. She also will greet me when I come home at the end of the day. When the cats are separated she’s amazing on her own, but the stress of having to keep them separated so my resident cat stops peeing inappropriately has been difficult. We just want her to live the spoiled life she deserves!

Story
rving is a charmer! This big boy isn't just handsome, he's a true ball of joy! His sweet purrs and endearing demeanor capture the heart of everyone he meets. Irving's favorite pastimes include snuggling up with his people and watching birds and squirrels out the window. He particularly likes his window perch where he spends hours taking it all in--then he retires to your lap for a snooze and a cuddle. His gentle spirit and loving heart are sure to soothe you after a difficult day and add that extra cozy touch to an evening in or a Saturday morning on the couch. He is truly a sweet, special boy who wants nothing more than to be loved by a family with open hearts and laps. Irving is a good-hearted guy who gets along well with others and would likely do well in a family with other cats, dogs, and cat-savvy kiddos. He's using his litterbox and scratcher perfectly. His sweet nature and unwavering affection are reminders of the simple pleasures found in the company of a beloved pet. Could you be Irving's home? He just can't wait for snuggles and playtime with the family he's meant to be with forever. Irving is 2 years old and weighs 10 lbs. All cats have had a vet exam, are up to date on vaccinations, have been given a dewormer and treated for fleas and ear mites if needed. If you are interested in meeting this cat please complete the adoption application on our website at http://www.safehandsrescue.org under Adopt and then we can contact you about setting up a meeting.

Story
Pumbaa is an adorable long hair tuxedo cat. He is an absolute people person and companion for anyone who loves a cuddle buddy. He is a model cat for Soona in Minneapolis, Minnesota and LOVES being pampered. Pumbaa is a high maintenance friend who will require daily brushing to prevent his long hair from knotting. His littler box must be clean for him to feel comfortable. He wants your attention and affection and will want to be played with daily often twice. Pumbaa is both an indoor and outdoor cat. He loves both but needs to be entertained twice daily if kept indoors for happiness. We adopted him from an abusive situation which left him abandoned for 2 weeks. Pumbaa uses his litter box regularly but if he is in distress or feels threatened his fear response is urinating in places he feels safe in. Pumbaa displays anxiety and meows when left alone but he will melt your heart when taken care of.
