Story
I took Hufflehop in as his precious owners were not able to care for him and were considering euthanasia due to his disabilities. He is unable to walk properly and need help expressing his feces and urine but he is such a sweet and loving cat and doesn't let his circumstances stop him from enjoying his life. He is very food motivated and will do anything for a good snack, he loves playing with hair and cat toys, and while he can't fully run around to play with other pets he still has such a fighting spirit and never gives up trying. He's very affectionate and will do well in a home with someone experiences in special needs kittens. He's got such a beautiful soul and I have no doubt that he will find his perfect forever home someday

Story
Age/DOB: estimated 5-1-2023Hi - I'm sweet girl but still a little shy when you 1st meet me.  I have beautiful coat but will need to be brushed to keep it from getting mats.  I'm learning how to play and enjoy getting petted and brushed. I love other cats and must be adopted to a home with another cat or adopted with another kitten or cat (check out my foster sister Anya). I'm not a fan of dogs so far but might do ok if slowly introduced to a calm dog.  I will be a petite lady but I have lots of love to give!I am spayed, tested negative for FIV/ FeLV, microchipped, dewormed, treated with Revolution, and am up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccines. You may apply to adopt at www.purrsandwhiskers.org/adopt ##1999320##

Story
Looking for a calm, quiet kitty? That's Heathcliff! This senior lady is looking for a quiet home that loves to nap and lay in the sun- just like her! Heathcliff is a "special person" kind of kitty. What does that mean? Well, it means she totally different with her "special person"! When first meeting her, Heathcliff can be a bit of a wallflower. She is hesitant to leave the comfort of her bed. It takes a lot of energy to greet new people - she needs to make sure it's worth it! But a gentle hand and soothing words can win her over to your side. She prefers her "me time" and at her age, she deserves it! If you're looking for a furry friend, Heathcliff might just be your answer! If you'd like to meet our available animals, please check the "shelter information" box on the listing to see if the pet is located at our Fairfax Campus (4500 West Ox Road, Fairfax) or our Lorton Campus (8875 Lorton Road, Lorton). Then, come in during our open hours! Both of our locations are open Tuesdays and Wednesdays 12-5 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays 12-7 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays 11 a.m.-5 p.m. For more information on our adoption process, including requirements and fees, visit: www.fairfaxcounty.gov/animalshelter/adopt

Story
Prime Rib's story: Prime Rib was seen roaming on our property, so we set up a humane trap and were able to rescue her. Prime Rib was extremely stressed when she came into our care, and based off her behavior, we don't believe she has had much contact with humans. We are so thankful we caught her before winter came!  Since being with us, she has become more comfortable living inside, and is seen hiding less and less. She is currently the only long-haired cat that we have, and has a gorgeous tuxedo coat. Some of her favorite things to do are look out her window and watch staff/volunteers walk by. She will even meow 'hello' sometimes! We are hopeful with a patient owner, Prime will blossom into a social butterfly!  Are you the perfect forever home for Prime Rib?
