Story
I took Hufflehop in as his precious owners were not able to care for him and were considering euthanasia due to his disabilities. He is unable to walk properly and need help expressing his feces and urine but he is such a sweet and loving cat and doesn't let his circumstances stop him from enjoying his life. He is very food motivated and will do anything for a good snack, he loves playing with hair and cat toys, and while he can't fully run around to play with other pets he still has such a fighting spirit and never gives up trying. He's very affectionate and will do well in a home with someone experiences in special needs kittens. He's got such a beautiful soul and I have no doubt that he will find his perfect forever home someday

Story
Age/DOB: 4-10-2024 ***All kittens under 1 year must either be adopted in pairs or you must have another young friendly cat in your home.*** I'd like to introduce...MOONBEAM!!! "Once in a blue moon", or more accurately, once in a solar eclipse, a kitten like Moonbeam is born. A fluffy kitten with perpetual bed head...or maybe he's just having a bad hair day. Whatever the reason, his fluff will make you "over the moon."  Moonbeam is one of two long-haired cuties and he is just wonderful. He's funny and friendly and affectionate...Moonbeam is "the moon on a stick." Here's a haiku about Moonbeam:Moonbeam's fur cascades,Long and fluffy, black and white,Wand toy dances—purrrrrrrr. So, if you're looking for a fluff ball kitten who will "love you to the moon and back," adopt Moonbeam. Go ahead, "shoot for the moon," and apply to adopt him. You're welcome. I am neutered, tested negative for FIV/ FeLV, microchipped, dewormed, treated with Revolution, and am up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccines. You may apply to adopt at www.purrsandwhiskers.org/adopt ##2089121##

Story
Age/DOB: 4-10-2024 ***All kittens under 1 year must either be adopted in pairs or you must have another young friendly cat in your home.*** Hi! I'm Sunbeam and I am adorable and amazing and adventurous....did I mention adorable?! I am the most adventurous of my siblings. I do everything first: Tried the water fountain and LOVED it! Ventured outside the kitten room first - scary! Met the resident cats first (wow, that was ....interesting!) Met the resident dogs first and they are BIG!  Went downstairs first and realized there's a whole level of the house to explore While I may be adventurous, I'm also super affectionate and LOVE to hang out with my humans. And if my humans just happen to be on their laptop, I can help send messages to people on Slack or Discord, whichever tool you use....you can count on me to be ultra-communicative with your friends. And I love having my picture taken. My humans go on and on about how cute I am (and let's be honest here...I am REALLY adorable). I mean, look at my eyes. Have you seen anything as sweet and squeezy as me? While I'm still getting used to the two super derpy dogs in the house, I'm sure I'll have them doing my bidding any day now.  I would love to be adopted with one of my siblings - because I'd be lonely by myself. Also, if you adopt me and another kitten together, we can run through your home and sound like a herd of tiny buffalo!  Here's a poem about me: Sunbeam, oh Sunbeam, with fur so bright, You chase shadows and leap with delight. Through sun-dappled meadows, you prance and play, A tiny explorer, stealing hearts each day.   Your purrs are like whispers from a fairy's wing, As you curl up in laps, a cozy little thing. Super adorable, with eyes wide and bright, Sunbeam, our darling, you bring endless light. I am spayed, tested negative for FIV/ FeLV, microchipped, dewormed, treated with Revolution, and am up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccines. You may apply to adopt at www.purrsandwhiskers.org/adopt ##2089124##

Story
Age/DOB: 3-30-2024 *All kittens under 1 year must either be adopted in pairs or you must have another young friendly cat in your home.* HI, I'm IPA, or as my foster mom calls me - Eepa! I'm part of the "6 pack" litter. I'm a sweet, fluffy little girl who has a very gentle purrsonality! I love to chase anything that rolls across the floor - toy springs, balls, mice! I haven't been around kids or dog, but I have been around plenty of cats/kittens. My foster mom thinks I'd do great in any home as long as I get a little time to adjust to everyone. I am a fluffy girl, so I'll need plenty of brushing. You can do that while I'm napping in your lap! If you think I would make a great partner, fill out an app and let's see how it goes! I am spayed, tested negative for FIV/ FeLV, microchipped, dewormed, treated with Revolution, and am up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccines. You may apply to adopt at www.purrsandwhiskers.org/adopt ##2089064##

Story
Age/DOB: 5-15-2024I am neutered, tested negative for FIV/ FeLV, microchipped, dewormed, treated with Revolution, and am up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccines.  I have enjoyed playing with my four brothers and sisters, but now it is time for me to find my own special home as they have all been adopted.  I am a sweet gentle kitty that is more on the quiet side, but I do enjoy playing with other cats.  I also like to be held and loved.    My favorite toys are little soft balls and stuffed mice.  My current foster has loved me from birth and has taken good care of me.   If you would like to meet me, please contact Purrs and Whiskers.  You may apply to adopt at www.purrsandwhiskers.org/adopt ##2161572##

Story
Angelica is ready for a home where she can nap by the window and enjoy some gentle pets from her humans! Angelica is very long furred and will appreciate being brushed when her coat grows back (she was recently shaved so she could look her best). This sweet girl is still learning to trust humans and can be a little unsure in new situations. We don't know much about her past-if only she could tell us! She would benefit from a kind and patient owner willing to let her go at her own pace. Angelica is FeLV+ (Feline Leukemia Virus positive), which means her immune system needs a little extra care. Despite her diagnosis, Angelica is full of life and joy! With regular vet check-ups, a healthy diet, and a calm, low-stress environment, Angelica can live a happy and fulfilling life. FeLV is not contagious to humans or other pets, only to other cats, so Angelica would do best as the only cat in your home or with other FeLV+ companions. She's ready to shower you with love and be your devoted feline friend! If you'd like to meet our available pets, please check the "shelter information" box on the listing to see if the pet is located at our Fairfax Campus (4500 West Ox Road, Fairfax) or our Lorton Campus (8875 Lorton Road, Lorton). Then, come in during our open hours! Both of our locations are open Tuesdays and Wednesdays 12-5 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays 12-7 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays 11 a.m.-5 p.m. For more information on our adoption process, including requirements and fees, visit: www.fairfaxcounty.gov/animalshelter/adopt
