Brooke came to 4Paws from a shelter in Maryland. She had been abandoned in a vacant house with other cats when the owner moved away. She is bonded to Stream who would love to share a barn home with her. Brooke's estimated birthdate is January 2017. She is spayed, current on vaccines, tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV, and has been microchipped.

If you are looking for a very interactive cat who will be your constant companion, look no further than sweet (and handsome!) Miso!  During the day, this very active boy is always looking for an adventure. He loves to jump onto high areas, play with his pole toy, and play fetch with his foster mom—especially with his favorite toy: her hair ties.   Miso is an energetic youngster who is all about playing and exploring. When he does go to bed, he likes to curl up next to you and ask for scratches on his chin. He is very affectionate and loving when you come home from being out and at night.  This beautiful boy is incredibly smart, and determined as well. He can be chatty, especially when he wants to play or eat.  Despite his heart condition, Miso acts just like any other juvenile cat, and his cardiologist says he can jump, climb, play and enjoy himself without worry that those activities will have a negative effect on his heart.   Miso has a suspected heart condition called mitral valve dysplasia. The mitral valve is a heart valve on the left side of the heart. If this valve is formed incorrectly in utero, it can lead to excessive tissue that gets "sucked" into the aorta when the heart pumps, causing the heart to work extra hard to pump blood and thus causing a thickening of the muscle.     Miso was seen by a cardiologist and is on an inexpensive medicine that he easily takes in his food once a day.  He also eats a high quality senior food (even though he is a youngster!) because senior diets are formulated with the correct amount of (low) salt required for cardiac care.  Miso will have a follow-up appointment in the July-August timeframe that will provide more guidance as to his overall prognosis.  FFGW will cover the cost of the follow-up appointment with Friendship Animal Hospital's cardiologists, even if Miso is adopted prior to the time the follow-up is due.      Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 12, 2024, 3:41 pm

PENDING ARRIVAL FROM KUWAIT LOOKING FOR FOSTER HOME VERY SWEET, CHATTY

Peyton came to 4Paws from a partner shelter in Maryland after he had been found as a stray. He clearly had a prior owner as he was declawed and already neutered, but the owner never re-claimed him. A sweeter kitty you will not find anywhere. Peyton is a very dignified cat with his fluffy black tuxedo with white bib and tummy with tall white boots and white gloves. His eyes are an enchanting dark amber - almost a golden brown. His white whiskers stand out against his shiny black furry face. Peyton's eating, grooming and litter box habits are excellent. But he does like to play a bit in his water dish. He does not jump up on tables and knock thing off - that is just not his style. And he is very patient in the morning and does not wake you up till you get up to feed him. Peyton does need a bit of time to warm up - it is important that he sets the pace for your developing relationship. But before you know it, he will be asking for pets and want to cuddle up on the couch with you and he will be make biscuits on your lap. If invited he will join you in bed too ! Peyton loves to play with the laser and he has a tiny lizard that he likes to bat around. Peyton does take some inexpensive medication for pain in his back legs. The vets were very impressed at what a good patient he is - almost like he enjoyed it. Peyton might be best in a home without young children or the elderly. Peyton's estimated birthdate is January 2017. He is neutered, current on vaccines, tested negative for FiV/FeLV and is micro chipped.
