Story
Meet Charlie! Charlie and his best friend Adele come to 4Paws from a partner rescue in Tennessee. They are bonded and must be adopted together. Charlie is as floofy as he is cuddly. Charlie, the more extroverted confident kitty, enjoys being pet, held, and will sometimes roll over for a…BELLY RUB! All that fluffiness will require some extra help from his new human to keep it knot free and bright. Luckily, Charlie loves to be brushed and combed out. In their foster home they got canned Fancy Feast twice daily and had all-day access to a high-quality chicken-based kibble. Adele can be finicky about the canned food; it's not unusual that she will initially act not too interested in it, but then after a bit she will realize it's pretty good and will eat it, though somewhat slowly. On the other hand, her friend Charlie will dive right in.

Story
Pepperpot is a senior lady in need of a foster home with an experienced foster and no small children! She just completed eye surgery to remove the right eye which was blind and damaged, and she had entropian surgery on the left eye. She is now medically fine but needs a quiet foster home to decompress. When she arrived to 4Paws her fur was so matted she had to get a Lion Cut and so it is still growing out. Pepperpot can be both sweet and sassy, and she may be unpredictable, so her foster parent needs to be able to read her signals and leave her alone when she does not want to be bothered. She seems to have the ability to move rather quickly when she wants to escape being around her people, so open doors are enticing to her which could lead to her getting outside. These are two reasons why she is not suitable for a home with small children. Pepperpot is spayed, current on vaccines, tested negative for FiV/FeLV, and is micro chipped.

Story
Foxy Lady! She's gorgeous, she's full of personality and she's going to judge you! Seriously, that face is saying "are you worthy to be my best friend?" Foxy has distinguished taste which often means it takes her a bit to decide if she likes you but once she does, she's a snuggly sweetheart. Foxy isn't just a pretty face, she's silly and fun to be around too! She can flip a switch and decide she's got better things to do than hang out, so no sensitive adopters that don't understand a choosy kitty that doesn't need your validation. Foxy Lady has done very well in her foster home, finding cozy places to chill, sunny spots to sprawl out and the occasional kitty friend to interact with. Foxy does have a sensitive stomach so we will share all of our tips on a food that agrees with her to avoid any issues! Children and dogs not recommended in Foxy's future home. To be considered as a potential adopter, complete an adoption application. Completing the application does not guarantee it will be approved. We are an all volunteer group and unfortunately are unable to answer every phone call, adoption inquiry, or application. Please understand you will be contacted only if your application is approved.

Story
1 year old Personality: calm, friendly, independent, snuggly Austin is your low-maintenance, loving best friend! He loves to be pet and will hang out with you for as long as you will give him love. Otherwise, he is a super chill dude who enjoys doing his own thing. He will happily snuggle up in his favorite spot for hours and just relax. Austin is not very motivated by food, treats, or toys and is truly just a mellow guy looking for his forever home. Austin is good with other cats and dogs and mostly does not engage with them (although he may open up more once he’s been around them for a while). If an easy-going, independent companion sounds like the perfect addition to your home, apply to adopt Austin today! _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is a foster-based rescue in Washington, DC.
