Story
Meet this big ball of floofiness named Honky! He was rehomed because his human mom was getting married to someone with cat allergies. Honky likes people and wants to keep you company. He approaches people with head butts and will roll onto his back for you to pet his belly (not a trap!) and tell him he is a good boy. Honky would do best in a quiet home with adults or older children. Honky can be an only pet and would do best with a female adopter. He gets scared and will hiss when large things such as trash bags and towels are handled around him. Honky was unreactive to his foster's mastiff so should do OK with dogs if proper introductions are made. Honky likes being brushed and will need regular brushing to prevent fur balls. Honky has ben neutered, microchipped, vaccinated for rabies and distemper, and tested negative for FeLV and FIV. His birth date is January 10, 2019. He has great litter box manners but will need a large one. He enjoys both dry and wet food but the vet recommended he stick to wet food to lose a few pounds.

Story
Peyton came to 4Paws from a partner shelter in Maryland after he had been found as a stray. He clearly had a prior owner as he was declawed and already neutered, but the owner never re-claimed him. A sweeter kitty you will not find anywhere. Peyton is a very dignified cat with his fluffy black tuxedo with white bib and tummy with tall white boots and white gloves. His eyes are an enchanting dark amber - almost a golden brown. His white whiskers stand out against his shiny black furry face. Peyton's eating, grooming and litter box habits are excellent. But he does like to play a bit in his water dish. He does not jump up on tables and knock thing off - that is just not his style. And he is very patient in the morning and does not wake you up till you get up to feed him. Peyton does need a bit of time to warm up - it is important that he sets the pace for your developing relationship. But before you know it, he will be asking for pets and want to cuddle up on the couch with you and he will be make biscuits on your lap. If invited he will join you in bed too ! Peyton loves to play with the laser and he has a toy lizard that he likes to bat around. Peyton does take some inexpensive medication for pain in his back legs. The vets were very impressed at what a good patient he is - almost like he enjoyed it. Peyton might be best in a home without young children or the elderly. Peyton's estimated birthdate is January 2017. He is neutered, current on vaccines, tested negative for FiV/FeLV and is micro chipped.

Story
Easygoing and sweet, this is a low-maintenance cat; however, his fur is sooo soft that you'll never want to stop petting him!  And he'll love you for it! He will occasionally play chase the light, but good naps are the best :)  Currently, he is in a foster home with 2 rabbits and an older (calm) dog. He is very interested in the rabbits and getting to know them (the rabbits are not so curious). He and the dog are unsure of each other at this time. When the dog startled him he swatted and she is now keeping her distance. Given time they might be friends. They are coexisting in the same room for now. He loves to nap near his humans and is willing to accept some love and hugs. He does listen and will come when called most of the time. He is also a good jumper and will come to check out whatever you are doing. Idaho Potato is FIV positive and is eager to find his forever home!  Are you ready to meet me? An approved adoption application is required to meet me in my foster home -- fill out an application today! Our mailing address is Reston, VA and our cats fostered in NoVA and DC homes.  Washington, D.C.- Suburban Virginia/Maryland Area inquiries only, please! FFGW Adoption Policy is that all kittens under 6 months must be adopted in pairs. If not part of a bonded pair, you need to have a compatible cat 1 year old or younger already in the family.   Layla is gorgeous and a total sweetheart. After being a teenage mom and abandoned at a shelter before being rescued by FFGW, she is looking forward to some “me” time. She loves kitty TV but also enjoys playing with her kittens and rolling around on the floor. She’s a little shy at first but warms up quickly and loves a chin scratch. She loves sitting on your or near you and being petted. She loves a mouse and a dangle toy. Layla's Apple Kittens are: Macintosh, Johnagold, Cider, and Twig.
