Story
Mr. Chill is our gorgeous solid grey and white long haired handsome, young boy that is a miracle cat.  A vet that Critter Cavalry Rescue works with, called about Mr. Chill who was brought in to their clinic with a badly broken leg that required surgery and a pin in his leg.  The senior couple could not afford the surgery and they were going to euthanize this handsome boy.  Critter Cavalry Rescue paid the $1,000 bill to fix his leg and save his life.  He was worth it !!!!  His regular name was Cloudy but we nicknamed him Mr. Chill.  He has been healing so nicely and getting friendlier and snuggly the past 3 weeks since we picked him up from the vet’s office after surgery.  He greets his foster mom at the door in the morning, ready for her to pick him up and hold him over her shoulder.  He wants lots of head scratches, please!  He has started walking on all four legs now, but he still travels with a slight limp in his giddy-up.  Thankfully all the nerves in his paw seem to be intact and we marvel at what a trouper he has been!  As you can see from his good looks , he is also a gentleman and has been so tolerant of the other younger and more energetic kitten in the cat room of the house.  He has never hurt her; he hasn’t even growled to ask her to please quiet down and behave.  He just embraces the fun.  Mr. Chill is all that and more….such gentle boy.  He is  destined to become a lap cat, not because he has to, but because he wants to.  Purring is guaranteed with his adoption and at no extra charge!   Please write to us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com   April 23, 2024, 4:30 pm

Story
Female, DLH, approx 1 years old Are you ready to fall in love? Piper is a small, fluffy bundle of energy and sweetness---welcome her into your heart and home as soon as possible! This young and playful kitty hasn't let her rough beginnings interfere with her joie de vivre--she loves to play with humans, toys, and other cats. In fact, she was chasing and wrestling with her foster parent's resident cat within a few days of arriving. In quieter moments, Piper enjoys curling up on a human lap to receive strokes and head scratches. But she won't stay there too long--soon she will be off to stretch and check out the latest sounds outside the window. Piper is a petite and fluffy cat with a little black mustache and crazy old-man whiskers (including out of her eyebrows!). Welcome this high-energy, striking girl into your lap, into your cat tunnel, and into your heart! *Piper's rescue was generously sponsored by Leslie Lyles. Thank you for saving a life! ____________________________ If you are interested in meeting a dog or cat, we require an adoption application. If the animal has "HAS APPLICATION" listed, they are still available to receive additional applications but also may be in the process of being adopted soon. Apply for a CAT: https://www.citydogsrescuedc.org/adoptable-cats.html City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is a foster-based rescue in Washington, DC. We do not have a shelter. CDCK has a thorough adoption process to find the best possible fit for each of our dogs and cats. Upon accepting a new cat or dog into the organization, we provide a basic vet visit that includes necessary vaccinations, disease screenings, deworming, microchips, and spay/neuter for dogs six months and older. We do not provide a comprehensive medical exam before adoption. As a result, sickness, injury, and disability may exist unbeknownst to CDCK. City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is not responsible for payment of any vet care, including known and unknown medical conditions once a cat or dog is adopted from us. Cat specific vetting: Rabies, FVRCP. Cats are tested for FIV and FeLV, when age appropriate, but not when born to a FELV/FIV negative mother in foster care. Kittens have age-appropriate vetting to date, which includes deworming, microchip, and the first FVRCP vaccine. Kittens born in care to a negative mother will not receive a FIV/FeLV test. An adopter will need to agree to cover costs of spay/neuter when he/she is age-appropriate (usually 16-20 weeks) and will need to continue his/her kitten vaccines (including rabies) as he/she grows older. Kittens under 12 weeks of age must be adopted in pairs or to a home with friendly resident feline. They will not be considered as singles.

Batgirl is a fluffy purr monster! She loves sitting in your lap and will work hard to find her way there. She loves playing with her toys and treats! Batgirl lost her owner of many years and has been fearful in new surroundings. But she settled in well with her foster after a week or so and now loves being groomed, getting head skritches, and even the occasional belly rub!She uses the litter box without fail.Batgirl would probably do best in a quiet place where she could be with people a lot but could retreat to a quiet nook. She would also like to be the only cat in your life!If you are interested in adopting Batgirl, please email nikkifosterawla@gmail.com to arrange a virtual meet and greet with the pet's foster parent. Mango is a handsome boy full of playful energy and affection! He is very social and outgoing, quickly warming up to new people. He loves attention whether that be cuddling up to you, walking under your feet or jumping up on whatever surface you're at. Mango is athletic, goofy, and very food motivated. Mango likes to curl up next to you or on your lap for cuddles. Mango has a cute meow and loves to let you know what he wants. He loves tasty food and toys.Mango previously lived with cats and would thrive in a home with another cat. Mango would do best in a home with older kids, teens and adults where this friendly boy can continue working on his manners. If you are interested in adopting Mango, please send an email to adoptions@awla.org to arrange an initial meet and greet with the pet's foster parent or a staff member. Story
Lady is an 8 year old tuxedo. She is a cuddly lazy lounge cat that requires a night time belly rub and will not leave you alone until it (and some treats) are acquired. She has a cute quiet little meow, but is not afraid to use it when she’s hungry. Treats are the definitive way to her heart and you’ll have her wrapped around your finger after just a few. Beware, she will sit on your keyboard if she “feels” it’s snack time. She has been around other cats all her life, but is mostly solitary so also not necessary for her to be around other cats in a new home.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hi there, I am Cali. I came to King Street Cats a while back after my owner became ill and had to move to a place that could care for her. I lived on my own for a while in not quite ideal conditions before some nice neighbors help get me to KSC. When I arrived I was terrified, angry, and well, a hot mess as they say. Though I didn’t tell anyone, my feet were in bad shape from living in poor conditions. Cleaning my cage was a battle of wills that I often won. But I made little bits of progress. Finally everyone learned part of my anger was pain when my cage was found looking like a crime scene and off to emergency I went. My feet were infected and some of the pads had split. I came to understand people really are trying to help me. Don't get me wrong I was, and still sometimes am, a bit of an emotional rollercoaster. I now like chatting with the volunteers and have regained much of the trust and confidence every kitty should have, and am again the beautiful girl everyone knew was lurking behind the pain and fear. Every day I try to show how grateful I am, for the care and comfort I've had at King Street Cats. It does take me a bit to trust new people but I know I will meet that one special person and someday soon I hope to find my quiet, loving, forever home. Story
Loki is an incredibly affectionate cat. He is the definition of a lap cat. He is loyal, calm, and loving. He likes to jump up on the couch or on shelves, but is otherwise very relaxed. He loves meal time and is very grateful when given treats (he loves the mousse treats most). He is well house trained and never has accidents in the house. He is very timid around other pets, and will run from them and hide until he gets acclimated to them. But he is extremely friendly to people, great with kids. He adores head scratches and his laser pointer. We rather have someone adopt him directly, than send him to a shelter. Please consider adopting him. He is the best and I will miss him very much. Thank you!
