Story
I took Hufflehop in as his precious owners were not able to care for him and were considering euthanasia due to his disabilities. He is unable to walk properly and need help expressing his feces and urine but he is such a sweet and loving cat and doesn't let his circumstances stop him from enjoying his life. He is very food motivated and will do anything for a good snack, he loves playing with hair and cat toys, and while he can't fully run around to play with other pets he still has such a fighting spirit and never gives up trying. He's very affectionate and will do well in a home with someone experiences in special needs kittens. He's got such a beautiful soul and I have no doubt that he will find his perfect forever home someday

Story
Breed - Domestic Long Hair Neutered Male Weight - About 10 lbs Estimated Age - 15-16 years old If you are interested in adopting this cat, please fill out our cat adoption questionnaire at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/HTAR/Cat. For questions, email kelseym@homewardtrails.org. HOW TO MEET THIS CAT: This cat is in a foster home. To meet him, please complete the adoption questionnaire. LOCATION: Foster home ADOPTION COORDINATOR: Kelsey, kelseym@homewardtrails.org ADOPTION FEE: $170. This fee INCLUDES neuter, vaccines, and microchip. Ask us about our many adoption benefits that include free exams, pet insurance, and other discounts! HOW THIS ANIMAL IS WITH: CATS: Bernard has always lived with other cats and would benefit from having a confident cat around. DOGS: Bernard can be a little shy and doesn't like quick movements so would prefer a home without a dog. KIDS: Because he's a little shy, he would prefer a home without kids. KNOWN LIKES: His cat bed, Churu, breakfast time, dinner time, quiet naps, looking out the window. KNOWN DISLIKES: Loud noises, being picked up. ABOUT THIS ANIMAL: Bernard spent most of his life outside and has been adjusting well to life as an indoor kitty. He is shy to start and needs a quiet space to feel comfortable and settle in. Once he's bonded with his human, he'll follow them around and loves massages. He's a big fan of Churu treats and never skips a meal. You can usually find him living the life of leisure he earned, snoozing in the sunshine. He recently had a dental and doesn't have any teeth left so you won't have to worry about any more dental expenses! He's looking for a quiet home to spend his retirement in. He'd do well with another confident cat to keep him company. When he came to us, he was matted and needed to be shaved so his hair is growing back. He normally has long hair. HT ADOPTION INCLUDES: Spay/Neuter A series of FVRCP vaccines, rabies vaccine, and deworming Microchip - lifetime registration with no fees EXCLUSIVE ADOPTER BENEFITS: Free physical exam with Caring Hands Animal Hospital, Palisades Veterinary Clinic, Jermantown Animal Hospital and Clarendon Animal Care within 30 days of adoption and all VCA Animal Hospitals (VCA offers $250 coverage - details provided) within 14 days of adoption.
