Story
Say hello to Pickles, the adorable black kitten with a heart as big as her playful spirit! At just three months old, Pickles is a bundle of energy and curiosity, ready to turn every day into an adventure. Her jet-black fur is sleek and soft, making her the perfect little shadow to follow you around. Pickles loves to chase after her toys, pounce on imaginary prey, and explore every corner of her world. She's always up for a game or a playful tussle with her kitten friends. But don't let her playful nature fool you-Pickles has a sweet and cuddly side too. When she's done with her antics, she'll curl up in your lap, purring contentedly as you shower her with love and affection. Pickles gets along wonderfully with other cats, is curious about dogs, and is great with kids. She's looking for a forever home where she can share her boundless joy and receive plenty of snuggles in return. If you're ready to add a touch of magic to your life, Pickles is the perfect kitten for you. The adoption fee for this kitten is $175, which helps with the cost of routine vet care. A $125 spay/neuter deposit is required at time of adoption. This fee covers spay/neuter at one of PetConnect's preferred veterinary partners. If the adopter chooses to use their own veterinarian, the deposit will be returned with proof of sterilization. Story
Candy is a gorgeous long-haired tuxedo cat looking for her purr-fect adopter. Candy takes a bit to warm up but once she's comfortable she loves to snuggle up for some Netflix and cuddling. Candy would do best in a quiet home without young children and as a single cat. She is fixed, fully vaccinated, and negative for FelV/FIV. This cat's adoption fee is $150. ***Please note that the first step in the process is to complete our nonbinding application which does not commit you in any way, but allows us to help you to find a great match. Our application review process also includes a veterinary reference check. Vetting of current and past pets is very important to us, thus we will be speaking with the vet(s) listed on your application to ensure that your current and previous pet(s) are kept up to date on vaccines (including rabies), spayed or neutered, maintained on appropriate monthly preventatives (if applicable) and examined annually by your vet.*** Cats adopted through Freckles Foundation & Animal Rescue must be indoor only and may not be declawed unless already declawed at the time of rescue.

Story
Misty is gorgeous and oh so sweet. This friendly beauty had a rough start and is looking for a loving, safe home where she will be pampered. She was severly matted and had to be partially shaved. Now, she loves to be brushed and cared for. She was in a home where food was not plentiful and was allowed to two litters of kittens that we are aware of. She was fiercely protective but the environment wasn't safe for them. As a result, she is not fond of other kitties and likely will not do well with dogs. She will likely do best as an only pet in the household. Can you offer her a long awaited home? * Our kitties are: Spayed/neutered (or provided a spay/neuter voucher for kittens too small for surgery), combo tested for Feline Leukemia and Feline Aids, up-to-date on vaccines (rabies vaccine when age appropriate), treated for parasites, and most have microchips. Tiny kittens go in pairs unless there's a companion animal already in the household. Our adoption fees are low. Most are $150 although some very desirable kitties may be slightly more. For a pair, we reduce the adoption fee slightly.July 24, 2024, 2:23 pm

Story
Beautiful Sasha is very sweet and gentle, Persian mix. She has been in a loving home but is back in our care through no fault of her own. She is confused, sad, and desperately needs a loving, stable, but quiet home. She is very frightened with her transition and needs someone patient and understanding. Sasha is about four years old. Will you offer this gentle sweetheart a stable, loving home? * Our kitties are: Spayed/neutered (or provided a spay/neuter voucher for kittens too small for surgery), combo tested for Feline Leukemia and Feline Aids, up-to-date on vaccines (rabies vaccine when age appropriate), treated for parasites, and most have microchips. Story
This affectionate beauty is tiny, almost kitten-like. She is a very gorgeous long-haired kitty who loves attention. Come and visit her in Leesburg and you'll see how cuddly and sweet she is. Lolo was in foster care but does not do well with dogs. We believe she will mix with other cats but will probably do best in a quiet home. Lolo is young, likely 2 years old. Story
Female, DLH, approx 1 years old Stormy has put in her time as a mom to five, and now that they're ready to leave the nest, she is ready for a home alllllll her own. She's an adults-only/older kids household kind of cat, but that doesn't mean she's mean or anything, she just likes the quiet life. Stormy has somewhat limited eyesight, which makes her tend toward the uncomfortable side when she's in a new space, and she might even growl a little bit at imaginary monsters that live out past where she can see clearly. During this new environment time, Stormy finds it super helpful if you chat with her and let her know what's going on. Once she has had a couple days to settle in and figure out that the coast is clear (no monsters in the shadows), she gets super comfortable with her human. And when that happens, she'll become your fast friend. Stormy absolutely loves to get pets and is super affectionate. She can't wait to find her forever home, so apply today to meet Stormy! *See more Stormy cuteness on Instagram @peanutmoonlightfoster ________________________ If you are interested in meeting a dog or cat, we require an adoption application. If the animal has "HAS APPLICATION" listed, they are still available to receive additional applications but also may be in the process of being adopted soon. Apply for a CAT: https://www.citydogsrescuedc.org/adoptable-cats.html City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is a foster-based rescue in Washington, DC. We do not have a shelter. CDCK has a thorough adoption process to find the best possible fit for each of our dogs and cats. Upon accepting a new cat or dog into the organization, we provide a basic vet visit that includes necessary vaccinations, disease screenings, deworming, microchips, and spay/neuter for dogs six months and older. We do not provide a comprehensive medical exam before adoption. As a result, sickness, injury, and disability may exist unbeknownst to CDCK. City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is not responsible for payment of any vet care, including known and unknown medical conditions once a cat or dog is adopted from us. Cat specific vetting: Rabies, FVRCP. Cats are tested for FIV and FeLV, when age appropriate, but not when born to a FELV/FIV negative mother in foster care. Kittens have age-appropriate vetting to date, which includes deworming, microchip, and the first FVRCP vaccine. Kittens born in care to a negative mother will not receive a FIV/FeLV test. An adopter will need to agree to cover costs of spay/neuter when he/she is age-appropriate (usually 16-20 weeks) and will need to continue his/her kitten vaccines (including rabies) as he/she grows older. Kittens under 12 weeks of age must be adopted in pairs or to a home with friendly resident feline. They will not be considered as singles.

Story
Female, DLH, approx 2 years old Personality: friendly, outgoing, talkative Hi. I'm Janice. I'm a fabulous long-haired tortie with pretty yellow eyes and a distinct orange mitten on my front paw. It sets me apawt. I'm an outgoing lady that's pretty sweet and I even tolerate the doggo in my sitter's home. I like to sit beside my human on the couch. It's pretty comfy and I can do a big stretch there, too. I can equally live and be happy in small spaces, which is a plus. I'm not a complete diva! I will especially love you if you have those really cool feather wands and a KONG Kickeroo. Once I finish playing, I like to do a scratch on the post my foster mom has for me. I think I'm a pretty good gal. Let's exchange info or, better yet, come meet me! ________________________ If you are interested in meeting a dog or cat, we require an adoption application.
