Story
Dumbledore is a big floof with a lot of opinions, and he wants to share them with you! He is not shy about telling you exactly what he wants, and at all times! Most of the time, what he wants is a quiet place to snooze and watch the world go by. He's a chill dude, and is looking for a family with a similarly laid-back attitude. His ideal home would have lots of cat towers and comfy pillows, with no kids or dogs to raise a ruckus and disturb his VIN (very important napping). Dumbledore is FIV positive, which means his people will need to work closely with their veterinarian to make sure he stays in tip top shape. Living with FIV, he can have a long, happy, normal life, and even have cat buddies, provided there's a slow, patient introduction. If you're in need of the fluffiest big boy with a heart of gold, come on in and visit Dumbledore today! If you'd like to meet our available pets, please check the "shelter information" box on the listing to see if the pet is located at our Fairfax Campus (4500 West Ox Road, Fairfax) or our Lorton Campus (8875 Lorton Road, Lorton). Story
Weezer & Beck, Beck & Weezer. What a pair! Weezer the fluffy little black kitten, and his dobble-ganger brother Beck, are searching for a home of their own! Weezer and Beck are a bonded pair and must be adopted together. They are like Yin and Yang, balancing each other completely! We have plenty of wonderful things to say about Weezer and Beck, but we think their foster said it best."Weezer is a delicate soul and the shyer of the two. If he likes one thing about being touched it's gentle chin rubs. He also still tends to hide a lot and observe things. Weirdly though, he has found his voice in a little mew. He can be engaged with play though (wand toy with feathers works best) and has allowed me to brush him with a slicker brush which I wanted to get him used to as I think he is going to be a long hair cat. Weezer another loving, accepting cat he can be friends with. And the best way to make sure he has that is to adopt him with his brother, Beck."Sound like the kittens for you? Come adopt Beck and Weezer today! If you'd like to meet our available pets, please check the pet's profile to see if they are located at our Fairfax Campus (4500 West Ox Road, Fairfax) or our Lorton Campus (8875 Lorton Road, Lorton). For questions, email kelseym@homewardtrails.org. HOW TO MEET THIS CAT: This cat is in a foster home. To meet him, please complete the adoption questionnaire. LOCATION: Foster home ADOPTION COORDINATOR: Kelsey, kelseym@homewardtrails.org ADOPTION FEE: $170. This fee INCLUDES neuter, vaccines, and microchip. Ask us about our many adoption benefits that include free exams, pet insurance, and other discounts! HOW THIS ANIMAL IS WITH: CATS: Bernard has always lived with other cats and would benefit from having a confident cat around. DOGS: Bernard can be a little shy and doesn't like quick movements so would prefer a home without a dog. KIDS: Because he's a little shy, he would prefer a home without kids. KNOWN LIKES: His cat bed, Churu, breakfast time, dinner time, quiet naps, looking out the window. KNOWN DISLIKES: Loud noises, being picked up. ABOUT THIS ANIMAL: Bernard spent most of his life outside and has been adjusting well to life as an indoor kitty. He is shy to start and needs a quiet space to feel comfortable and settle in. Once he's bonded with his human, he'll follow them around and loves massages. He's a big fan of Churu treats and never skips a meal. You can usually find him living the life of leisure he earned, snoozing in the sunshine. He recently had a dental and doesn't have any teeth left so you won't have to worry about any more dental expenses! He's looking for a quiet home to spend his retirement in. He'd do well with another confident cat to keep him company. When he came to us, he was matted and needed to be shaved so his hair is growing back. He normally has long hair. HT ADOPTION INCLUDES: Spay/Neuter A series of FVRCP vaccines, rabies vaccine, and deworming Microchip - lifetime registration with no fees EXCLUSIVE ADOPTER BENEFITS: Free physical exam with Caring Hands Animal Hospital, Palisades Veterinary Clinic, Jermantown Animal Hospital and Clarendon Animal Care within 30 days of adoption and all VCA Animal Hospitals (VCA offers $250 coverage - details provided) within 14 days of adoption. Story
Note that all cats from Ukraine will require a home check. Breed - DLH tabby Spayed Female Weight - about 9 pounds Estimated Age - 1 year If you are interested in adopting this cat, please fill out our cat adoption questionnaire at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/HTAR/Cat. For questions, email saufenka@yahoo.com. HOW TO MEET THIS CAT: This cat is in a foster home. To meet, please complete the adoption questionnaire. LOCATION: Foster home ADOPTION COORDINATOR: Shana, saufenka@yahoo.com ADOPTION FEE: $170. This fee INCLUDES neuter, vaccines, and microchip. Ask us about our many adoption benefits that include free exams, pet insurance, and other discounts! HOW THIS ANIMAL IS WITH: CATS: Good with other cats and needs a second cat DOGS: No dogs KIDS: No small kids KNOWN LIKES: Wand toys and lots of cuddles KNOWN DISLIKES: Still getting to know her ABOUT THIS ANIMAL: Daisy is one of four kittens to mom Rose. They were found and rescued during a spay and neuter campaign in a conflict zone in Ukraine. The BTC team first found the four young, sickly kittens suffering from very bad eye infections. They didn't see Rose around anywhere, so they set a trap, and were finally able to catch her within a day or two. Rose was underweight, covered in fleas and ticks. Rose and her kittens, including Daisy, were brought back to the shelter where they have now been nursed back to health. All siblings were treated for bad eye infections due to herpes virus. Due to this, Rose and kittens were kept separate from all other cats. They only know each other. Now that she is in foster in the US, Daisy has blossomed. She's social, outgoing, loves attention, and is a play machine! She will jump for her wand toys. Her sibling Azalia looks to her for confidence, and we'd prefer to have them adopted together. Can you give Daisy and Azalia the home they so very much deserve? HT ADOPTION INCLUDES: Spay/Neuter A series of FVRCP vaccines, rabies vaccine (if old enough), and deworming Microchip - lifetime registration with no fees EXCLUSIVE ADOPTER BENEFITS: Free physical exam with Caring Hands Animal Hospital, Palisades Veterinary Clinic, Jermantown Animal Hospital and Clarendon Animal Care within 30 days of adoption and all VCA Animal Hospitals (VCA offers $250 coverage - details provided) within 14 days of adoption.
