Spayed or Neutered,
Story
I am an incredibly friendly and curious sweetheart, or at least that is what my foster mom says.  I always want to know what is going on and what that new sound or smell is!  I love meeting new cats and want to play with everyone but I am a little shy when it comes to humans, you guys are just so tall.  I love when humans give me catnip; it is my favorite treat and I will munch on that before rolling around in it and then wrapping myself around your legs to say thank you.   My foster mom says that I have something called FIV but I don’t feel sick and this means that foster mom puts a tasty little supplement powder on my kibble so I think it must be a good thing.  I would love to have a forever home where I can play with other cats and cuddle with my human(s).  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Story
I am a total snugglebug. I am all black except for gorgeous silver guard hairs on my sides and legs. I love cuddling with people and enjoy naps with my foster family. I’m happiest when I am being held or sitting on someone. All my siblings have been adopted so I’m pretty lonely with only my mom to play with. I’m comfortable around calm dogs, other cats, and little kids as long as they aren’t too loud and move slowly toward me. I really like when people drag shoelaces for me to chase. Please note that it is Fancy Cats’ policy that kittens have an age-appropriate playmate in the home. Story
wildaboutcatscc@gmail.com Halo is a big boy! He is very laid back and relaxed. He loves to sit in your lap and be brushed. He will greet you at the door and purr until he gets your attention. He likes to lay on a cat tree and watch the world go by or snooze in the sun. He would be good for an older person in a quiet household as the only cat. He was born on 2/24/2022. He has been neutered and is up to date on his vaccinations. All of our cats are fostered in Tennessee but we transport to most states. We use the most animal-friendly transport on the road; Rescue Riders Pet Transport. We transport on the weekends alternating between the Northeast and the Great Lakes so we can bring your fur baby to a destination near you.

Story
15-year-olds Layla (long-haired) and CeCe (grey and white) have been together their whole lives. They were sadly surrendered by their loving family as they are moving overseas and cannot take the cats with them. Cece and Layla were very gentle with the children in the home. Layla has perfect litter box skills, loves her cat tree, is very playful, and is very social. One of our staff says: "Layla has a growly meow, which sounds a little intimidating, but she really is very sweet and she just loves pets and conversation. She is easy to pick up and walk around with. She even let me hold her in my arms on her back and she tolerated it very well (not many cats do)." If you'd like to meet Layla, come on in during our open hours! We're open Tuesdays and Wednesdays 12-5pm, Thursdays and Fridays 12-7pm, and Saturdays and Sundays 11am-5pm. Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Not only is this loving approximately 5-year-old boy handsome, Mercury also seems to enjoy pets all over, even on his tummy! Mercury has lived with other cats and gets along well, though he does like to play rough. He is also good with the older kids who used to visit him in his previous home! Something unique about Carl is that he has been diagnosed with lower urinary tract disease and feline urethral obstruction. This condition means he will need a urinary-friendly diet for the rest of his life, and he needs to find a home where his human will pay a little extra attention to him in case his symptoms flare up again. If you'd like to meet Mercury, come visit during our opening hours! We're open Tuesdays and Wednesdays 12-5pm, Thursdays and Fridays 12-7pm, and Saturdays and Sundays 11am-5pm. Story
Jack must be adopted as a single cat. He does not like other cats. Jack is a world traveler coming to 4 Paws from Saudi Arabia. With his striking good looks, Jack Arabia is a total love bug!!! Jack has a great personality. He loves all people and will gladly keep you company whether working or playing. His would be the tail waving across the screen during your video calls because he knows he is more important than anything else you might be doing. Jack loves batting felt balls across the floor and will happily chase a cat teaser when his foster takes a break to play. Jack also looks forward to his Churu treats. What he doesn't like is being alone. He wants to be with you to help with whatever you are doing and he can be quite vocal about it. He also doesn't like sharing his person with another cat and can be quite jealous, so he needs to be the center of attention and the only cat in the family. Jack would absolutely LOVE to be a part of your world and he guarantees that your world will be better with him in it!! Jack's estimated birthdate is February 2020. He is neutered, current on vaccines, tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV, and has been neutered. ******* Please note: 4Paws will only consider local adoptions (Northern VA / DC / MD metropolitan area) 4Paws does not adopt to students All kittens under 6mos of age must be adopted into a home that already has another young cat/kitten; otherwise, must be adopted in pairs with a littermate.

Story
Ellie is an adorable, people-oriented, super playful, resilient, easygoing, and lovable ragamuffin. This petite, gorgeous medium-haired tabby lady has the cutest short legs, lots of soft, fine belly floof that she loves to have petted and brushed, and the cutest big tabby front paws.   She can be bossy with other cats, but Ellie is very outgoing and would do well in an active environment with a lot of human attention and mentally stimulating play. She always wants to be in the same room as her person or persons, usually just a couple feet away on the couch or floor.    Ellie has a great purr when she is getting attention, and she likes to chat with you when she is in a playful or attention-seeking mood. With her person, she enjoys playing chase, hide-and-seek, and fetch with her favorite catnip toys.   Ellie also does enjoy time by the window for birdwatching (a bird feeder is great entertainment), and she loves watching tv with you too! Nature documentaries and YouTube 'cat tv' are her favorites. She can watch the squirrels, chipmunks, birds, frogs, and other 'cat game' videos for hours.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Story
Ruby and Baby Boots were surrendered at the end of January because their owner was moving into senior housing. They co-exist well with other calm cats who aren't interested in playing (NO DOGS), no litterbox issues, and they also enjoy playing with wand toys. They only had the one owner their whole life, so the shelter environment came as a big shock to the two of them.  They are truly hoping that they can open up in a nice clam/quiet foster or forever home. Ruby is a sweet girl who obviously is used to be talked to and told how pretty she is. She'll be the one who follows you around ready for pets all the time.  Baby Boots is more independent and likes to explore and watch over his people.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Sweet Mr. Tuxsy is a foster favorite.  He particularly likes ladie's and likes to be treated like a baby.  He loves to be held and cuddled and will sleep under the covers with you.  He is better with a single person or couple.  He wants to be near you and in your lap.  He would let you carry him around all day.  He loves all crunchy cat treats, turkey & cheese shreds by Friskies and boxes!  He likes being under covers and pillows so any time you lay down check first.  He is quite the talker if you talk with him.  Otherwise he is quiet.  He would do best as the only animal.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.
