** I am currently being housed at our Oglethorpe St location. Come meet me at 71 Oglethorpe St NW, every day between 12pm-7pm. Or visit humanerescuealliance.org/how-to-adopt to learn more. This is the super handsome Snorkel! He's a beautiful boy. He is a young, frisky kitty looking for a home where he can get lots of interactive toys and thrive has a super silly kitty. Snorkel had a home but was not a fan of the little kids, so he's looking for an adults only home. Snorkel would love tall kitty towers, windows to look out and he wants to be active. If you are looking for a cat that needs lots of playtime and energy burning activities, then meet this amazing kitty. He's a smart kitty and needs a matching lifestyle.

Story
Female, DLH, approx 1 years old Stormy has put in her time as a mom to five, and now that they're ready to leave the nest, she is ready for a home alllllll her own. She's an adults-only/older kids household kind of cat, but that doesn't mean she's mean or anything, she just likes the quiet life. Stormy has somewhat limited eyesight, which makes her tend toward the uncomfortable side when she's in a new space, and she might even growl a little bit at imaginary monsters that live out past where she can see clearly. During this new environment time, Stormy finds it super helpful if you chat with her and let her know what's going on. Once she has had a couple days to settle in and figure out that the coast is clear (no monsters in the shadows), she gets super comfortable with her human. And when that happens, she'll become your fast friend. Stormy absolutely loves to get pets and is super affectionate. She can't wait to find her forever home, so apply today to meet Stormy! *See more Stormy cuteness on Instagram @peanutmoonlightfoster ________________________ If you are interested in meeting a dog or cat, we require an adoption application. If the animal has "HAS APPLICATION" listed, they are still available to receive additional applications but also may be in the process of being adopted soon. Apply for a CAT: https://www.citydogsrescuedc.org/adoptable-cats.html City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is a foster-based rescue in Washington, DC. We do not have a shelter. CDCK has a thorough adoption process to find the best possible fit for each of our dogs and cats. Upon accepting a new cat or dog into the organization, we provide a basic vet visit that includes necessary vaccinations, disease screenings, deworming, microchips, and spay/neuter for dogs six months and older. We do not provide a comprehensive medical exam before adoption. As a result, sickness, injury, and disability may exist unbeknownst to CDCK. City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is not responsible for payment of any vet care, including known and unknown medical conditions once a cat or dog is adopted from us. Cat specific vetting: Rabies, FVRCP. Cats are tested for FIV and FeLV, when age appropriate, but not when born to a FELV/FIV negative mother in foster care. Kittens have age-appropriate vetting to date, which includes deworming, microchip, and the first FVRCP vaccine. Kittens born in care to a negative mother will not receive a FIV/FeLV test. An adopter will need to agree to cover costs of spay/neuter when he/she is age-appropriate (usually 16-20 weeks) and will need to continue his/her kitten vaccines (including rabies) as he/she grows older. Kittens under 12 weeks of age must be adopted in pairs or to a home with friendly resident feline. They will not be considered as singles.

Story
Female, DLH, approx 2 years old Personality: friendly, outgoing, talkative Hi. I'm Janice. I'm a fabulous long-haired tortie with pretty yellow eyes and a distinct orange mitten on my front paw. It sets me apawt. I'm an outgoing lady that's pretty sweet and I even tolerate the doggo in my sitter's home. I like to sit beside my human on the couch. It's pretty comfy and I can do a big stretch there, too. I can equally live and be happy in small spaces, which is a plus. I'm not a complete diva! I will especially love you if you have those really cool feather wands and a KONG Kickeroo. Once I finish playing, I like to do a scratch on the post my foster mom has for me. I think I'm a pretty good gal. Let's exchange info or, better yet, come meet me! ________________________ If you are interested in meeting a dog or cat, we require an adoption application. Story
Candy is a gorgeous long-haired tuxedo cat looking for her purr-fect adopter. Candy takes a bit to warm up but once she's comfortable she loves to snuggle up for some Netflix and cuddling. Candy would do best in a quiet home without young children and as a single cat. She is fixed, fully vaccinated, and negative for FelV/FIV. This cat's adoption fee is $150. ***Please note that the first step in the process is to complete our nonbinding application which does not commit you in any way, but allows us to help you to find a great match. Our application review process also includes a veterinary reference check. Vetting of current and past pets is very important to us, thus we will be speaking with the vet(s) listed on your application to ensure that your current and previous pet(s) are kept up to date on vaccines (including rabies), spayed or neutered, maintained on appropriate monthly preventatives (if applicable) and examined annually by your vet.*** Cats adopted through Freckles Foundation & Animal Rescue must be indoor only and may not be declawed unless already declawed at the time of rescue.

Story
Meet Mr. Oreo.  This very handsome man is 3 years old and a medium size cat.  He is good with other cats and likes people.  He is just a bit shy of new people when he first meets them.  He will let you pet him but not always.  He needs a patient mom and/or dad to help him over come this.  He was found as a stray dumped in the country in middle Tennessee.  He still needs to learn that he can trust humans again.  Miss Judith came to his rescue and Critter Cavalry stepped in to get him all the vet care he needed and to find him the purrfect forever home.  Will that be with you?  To help Oreo please contact Vivienne at viviennejames@comcast.net.  APPROVED APPLICATION AND ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED.July 26, 2024, 2:09 pm
