Pongo (m) - one of a litter of three kittens rescued in a mobile home park at 3 weeks of age. The rescuer could not find their mother, so we took them in and bottle fed them until they graduated to real kitten food. All three kittens are cute as buttons and love to wrestle and play. It will be wonderful to see them grow up in their forever homes. ##1142564##

Barnabis previously lived with a dog with the family and would shey away a lot; he doesn't have any bad behaviors, but prefers to be separate. Barnabis's family says the ideal home would be where there are older children (if any, and he does prefer adults although he's okay with children), with other cats, or if he is the only pet; he is very lively and in great health; he loves cuddles and to pay tag. Owners have enlisted Rescue Well to provide marketing and screening of applicants as a service, free of charge. All fees and adoption conditions are determined by the owner. We advise that adopters do not send payment or deposits for pets prior to adopting.  ***** Rupert, a handsome orange tabby, is 8 years old and weighs 15lbs.  He's neutered and microchipped, but he's not up to date on his vaccines; he is, however, feline leukemia and feline HIV negative, and Rupert's guardian has vet records to substantiate same. SCRATCH/LUNGE/ATTACK INCIDENT:  Unsure of the date, Rupert scratched his human sibling and lunged/attacked his canine sibling in his home.  The scratch broke the skin, but animal control wasn't involved.  "Our child ran up to Rupert who hissed and scratched the child's arm.  Our dog became upset and run to Rupert and they lunged at each other.  We broke it up before any serious injuries occurred.  Rupert and the dog still lunge at each other whenever the child is near." Rupert's guardian provided some medical history:   " Rupert did have a history of seizures when he was young which went away after a round of antibiotics. No other significant medical history. " Rupert's guardian, after very much thought, has reluctantly decided to make the heartbreaking decision to rehome him.  The reason for surrender is:   " Rupert is an eight year old orange and white tabby we rescued from a hoarding situation in 2014. His date of birth is November 14th 2013. He is very loving and affectionate and loves to sit on your lap so you can scratch his head. He has the cutest pink nose and squish bean paws. He'll give head bumps and sleep on your chest if you're lying down. He will sit down and purr next to you for attention. We adore him but we have a small rambunctious special needs child in the household which has been stressing Rupert out for a couple years now, and causing him to hiss and swat at the child. Our dog feels protective of the child and now both Rupert and the dog have become aggressive toward each other. Before the child was born they tolerated each other so we don't believe he has a problem with all dogs but he would definitely do better in a home without small children. We've struggled with this decision for a long time but have decided that Rupert would be happier in a loving, child-free home. "   Rupert's guardian states the following about children, dogs, and cats:  Rupert lives with children ages 11 and 4 and a dog; based upon the above situation, his guardian recommends against Rupert living with young children or dogs. Rupert did live with cats so he will be able to live with cats in his new home. Rupert's guardian described his new ideal home:  " Rupert's ideal home would be child-free, with someone to dote on him and pet and brush him constantly.  He would probably be fine being the only cat but would also tolerate others. Owners have enlisted Rescue Well to provide marketing and screening of applicants as a service, free of charge. All fees and adoption conditions are determined by the owner. We advise that adopters do not send payment or deposits for pets prior to adopting.  ***** Kit Kat is 4 years old and weighs 12lbs.  She is spayed, up to date on her vaccines, but is not microchipped.  Kit Kat is FeLV/FIV negative and her guardian has veterinary records to substantiate same.  Kit Kat's guardian has been working with the clicker, which was recommended, but she hasn't progressed from associating a click with a treat .  Kit Kat especially hates (emphasis on hate) plastic bags; she is okay around a vacuum as long as it's not moving toward her; she loves kitty gogurt, loves yarn above all other toys, and doesn't do well riding in the car.  Kit Kat also "loves both being under the bed and in the highest spot she can reach, and loves hanging out by the window to watch birds and cars alike." Kit Kat's guardian explains why she is surrendering her:  "She was spayed late in life.  I got her unspayed so she has had issues with using the litter box.  Kit Kat uses the litter box regularly, but she has random periods where she doesn't.  I have tried over-the-counter calming meds, melatonin, diffuser sprays, checked with the vet for medical issues, and placed multiple litter boxes, but it's still an issue.  I am trying to get an anxiety medication filled as prescribed by my vet and hope this is the thing that really helps.  Also, I am ordering cat attract litter.  There are other things to try according to the vet and online forums so there is by no means no hope.  I am a grad student in a tiny apartment so I am running out of money and options." Kit Kat's guardian states the following about prior medical treatments:  'She was unspayed so I got her spayed around this time last year.  Other than that, she hasn't had medical treatment.  She has had urinalysis for the above listed reasons. Kit Kat's guardian states the following about children:  Kit Kat has not lived with children. "I have not seen [Kit Kat around children outside the home] it but she is rather independent so I don't think young children would be a good environment for all involved." Kit Kat's guardian states the following about dogs:  Kit Kat has lived with dogs.  "I have only seen her around a dog when she was unspayed and was extra angry so unsure how she would react now."   Kit Kat has lived with cats and states 'It might take some getting used to" regarding living with cats. Kit Kat's guardian describes her future ideal home:  "I think a larger space with maybe someone who has owned a cat before.  Specifically, one that needs a bit more care.  I am unsure how she would do around other pets.  She takes a bit of time to warm up to you but once she does she will follow you around with love.  I do think having a home with more space or potentially a backyard would help but this is just not an option for me right now." Owners have enlisted Rescue Well to provide marketing and screening of applicants as a service, free of charge. All fees and adoption conditions are determined by the owner. We advise that adopters do not send payment or deposits for pets prior to adopting.  ***** Handsome Kevin is looking for a new home; his guardians don't know his actual breed, so we stated he is DMH/DLH based solely on his photos.  Kevin is neutered, is not up to date on his vaccines, is not microchipped, and his FeLV/FIV is unknown, so he'll need testing.  "Kevin loves to cuddle and be petted by anyone and everyone.  He enjoys getting his treats in the morning.  He loves to purr and rub against you as he wants attention.  He's a very laid back cat and gets along with all ages."  Kevin's guardians explain their reasons for his surrender:  " Kevin was/is an outdoor cat. We moved and he is not happy in our condo and I can no longer let him go outside. He is a very well behaved cat and just needs a yard to run around and be free to go as he wants. He has never been around other pets." Kevin's brief medical history:  " Kevin had a surgery to remove stones from his bladder when we first took him in. He has been eating purine urinary tract infection food since and has not ever had an issue." Kevin's guardians believe he will be able to successfully live with children, as his guardians had a daycare in their home before moving to a condo. However, Kevin has not lived with dogs (seems to dislike them) or with cats, so his guardians do not recommend his living with dogs or cats. Kevin's guardians describe his future ideal home:  " Kevin needs land to run and be free outside as he pleases. He prefers to be outside, will use bathroom outside. Comes in to nap and eat. He will cuddle and enjoys being petted." Playful Friendly Independent Rehoming Fee:  None Location:  Bel Air, MD ***** ADOPTION PROCESS  1.
